  1. Mine has the stand but not the 6.7L adapters. Only had 1 6.7L torn down to a short block and that was done using the engine crane and powertrain table.
  2. So my scheduled holiday plans changed due to the New York shut down. Instead the family took on this project. On the way are a new counter top, refinishing the cabinets, new flooring, new sink and toilet, new light fixture above the shower, new exhaust fan, run a heating duct into the bathroom (because the previous owner didn't think it was necessary...) And to top it off, new ceiling tiles.
  3. Transmission vent is not blocked. Customer also informed us he had a harsh engagement issue that we could not verify. Not sure how many times it happened for him though. Last September he had the lead frame replaced. That was 15,000 km ago though.
  4. Just like the 99-07 Super duty....... The circle of life. 😂
  5. As explained to me by one of our instructors. "Torque to wield bolts are reusable up to a certain point. To determine this point they need to be precisely measured. It is cheaper to replace then each time than it is to pay us to measure them."
  6. Just because you can... Ram Pickup Driver Pulled Over while Towing an Unsecured Mobile Home
  7. I've seen that before a few times, always on the 6.7L, never on gas trucks. Hotline told me it was a possible hiccup in the PCM and just to clear it.
  8. I've seen this phenomenon before, countless times. I have now decided to give this phenomenon a name. I call it Torque average distribution. I have yet to come up with a precise scientific definition. Basically it is this: as long as the sum of the torque of a group of bolts equals the individual bolt torque specification multiplied by the number of bolts, everything is fine. Example. 7 EGR cooler bolts on a 6.7l. 1 is missing and 2 are finger tight. The other four I needed to use my long ratchet to break loose.
  9. Only thing notable found was the bleed holes in the head gasket looked burnt. Right bank only. Left side looked fine. Replaced the right cylinder head and both head gaskets. All good after that. What ever the cause was remains a mystery.
  10. I read it has a built in battery pack as well. No more VCM drop off if battery voltage is low when running wireless.
  11. 2017 Diesel Transit with a rubbed through heater hose. Looks like it was never positioned properly from factory. 2017 F-150 3.5 EcoBoost, Leaking oil pan, cracked left valve cover, right where the intake cam sprocket is, spewing oil everywhere. And a rear pinion seal.
  12. Front cover contact is considered normal. As long as there are no visible chunks missing off the impellers, that water pump looks good. No signs of cavitation in the front cover. I would say that is not the source of the plastic. Are the black flakes hard plastic or rubber?
  13. Oil filter housing seals on a 2015 Wrangler V6 currently.
  14. We had one apprentice in school when they shut down the college here, he didn't return to work. One other straight time guy has been MIA for a week now. Not sure why. We are busy and running full staff other that those two. Some of the office staff are working from home.
  15. My dining room is now a part time dance studio since my daughter's dance classes are now streaming online.
  16. Update:After getting the valvebody issue figured out and getting the transmission to shift past 5TH we found that it slips in 6TH. Thanks to a local rebuilder giving us a steal of a deal we are now putting in a reman unit.
  17. In the end I ended up having a replace decision on cost cap. I'll keep the input shaft in mind if I get another.
  18. We seem to be busier than most places mostly due to our fleet accounts. However, I have had more down time and find myself on YouTube more than normal. I am surprised at the idiotic things people will do just to get views and ratings. Everything from obviously breaking the law by street racing to driving obviously unsafe vehicles on the road. The last one I watched was about an older Mustang with a swapped in F-150 gen 1 coyote 5l. The thing has no heat or AC and he had to keep pulling over to wipe down all the windows. WTF. And they know their target audience is going to try this shit. I don't get it.
  19. For now I will take your word on it. The WSM states that a damaged OWC will cause a launch in 4th. Not sure how that is because the Low reverse clutch should be on providing 1st gear at launch. And the code for E solenoid stuck on takes me straight to diagnosis of the OWC in symptom charts.
  20. At this point one would think it would be a matter of switching the plugs from the original valve body into the new one. Not so. Even though we now have confirmation from 2 other Dodge sources that the plugs are supposed to be ordered separately when ordering the change up valve body, the Dealership we deal with is insisting they are supposed to come with the valve body and they see no note that says otherwise. So now they have gotten us yet another valve body from another dealer and we are to send back the 2 they sent us.
  21. Got it figured out. The replacement valvebody was missing 7 oil gallery plugs.
  22. Your number changes up to what we have. All the solenoid bodies had the same color-grey. Second valve body is in and I still have no engagement. 0 PSI line pressure. I can't even check line pressure manually because we have no tools for this thing. Pan is off again. Everything looks to be installed properly. We are suspecting a damaged filter now.
  23. Have one in my bay. Confirmed the one way clutch blew up, and sets codes for solenoid E(overdrive) stuck on. Can someone explain to me why it starts out in 4th gear when this happens? Confirmed 4th gear start by watching ratio pid. When the wrench light comes on, only then will it start in 1st, also confirmed by ratio pid.
