  1. Sounds like air intrusion to me, check the return line caps for leakage, probably needs new caps, o-rings and lines.
  2. Passenger side advances. I own 2 IDI's and timing tools. If things were still that simple....
  3. Air intrusion somewhere maybe? how's it start?
  4. Is shaft separation a typical failure of tuned 6.0's? I have an Excursion in here that was towing a 26' boat while on level 3 of his edge tuner, turbine wheel no longer connected to the compressor wheel. I am going to tune the PCM back to stock before it leaves, just wondered if anyone else sees this on a regular basis or anything like that.
  5. What kind of condition is the engine in? Could it be worn out, as in dusted? Nearly every 7.3 I see around here has a broken air cleaner box.
  6. I don't remember dead head spec but it seems that 3300 is a little low.
  7. Sounds like the HPOP can't keep up, 04 would be an early pump. Definitely could be weak.
  8. Yeah, those sprinters don't have a lack of power that's for sure.
  9. I know a guy that has one with a Supercharged 3800 v6. Neat car.

    6.0L Alternators

    It slowly climbed to 13.3-13.5v. MInd you I have an 05 Limited Excursion, lots of electrical load. Edit: I'll see what it does over time, i'm also going to install a voltmeter in the Excursion to monitor voltage. The batteries went almost dead on my wife, battery light never came on.

    MIne was doing 13.5 @ hot idle, when I started it for the first time, voltage started climbing instantly instead of the minute and a half wait with the factory one.

    Well, 6.4 200 amp alternator is on and functioning, just need to grind away the case to bolt the heater tube back on.
  16. I'll second that, good drill bits and a Drill Doctor are a necessity.
  17. I did one a couple months ago that the only symptom was cold HARSH engagement in drive. Once it warmed up it was fine.

    I was actually referring to the 6.4 alternator Aaron had suggested. Got one sitting in front of me, not all that different. I'm thinking of going for it.

    Like a GLV 8654 RM? The alt on my excursion just crapped out, wanting to upgrade, but would like factory parts if possible.
  20. I do the same thing. Not enough lifts to go around here. Easier I think anyways.
