  1. They said they were not able to suggest staying or trying to attract other techs if the work place is like that. They did have a meeting with owner and he blamed the service manager. Basically a pass the buck tactic. I still talk to the fse and he tells me all the time I can go work at a different dealership.
  2. I did figure it out. It's the egr valve. I blocked off the inlet side and it didn't act up. Pulled my pop can back out and it was acting up again.
  3. I left the ford dealership I worked at in September 2022. Been a ford tech since Jan 4th 1999 was 3 months short of 20 years at that dealership. 15 year senior master. Lived 4 miles from the dealer and helped all my coworkers. Including parts, sales, quicklane and other techs. Alot wasn't going good with the way management was running the place. It got to the point my kids would ask me was it a normal day or actually a good day. They pulled me offa job to look at a recently sold one that sales had sent to an outside shop. I told them what was wrong with it and the sales manager pulled out his phone called outside shop hands the phone to me and says explain to him how you figured it out. I said I am not training my competition. Sales manager stormed off got the owner. They called me into the office and started lecturing me about being a team player and said don't you agree. I said I can't work here anymore. They tried to have meetings with me to see if I would reconsider and I said no. I gave written 2 week notice. I was a great employee the last two weeks and left. I wanted to be a ford truck tech since I knew what a ford truck was lived 4 miles away made good money. But life is to short to deal with dealership bullshit. At least that dealership. I took some time off and got caught up on some farm work. I ended up getting a job at MN DOT. I miss being a ford tech but haven't regretted leaving the toxic work environment I was in at all. My fse and the ford rep for tech recruiting/retention went to lunch with me my second to last day and after I told them about why I quit they both told me they agreed I needed to get out.
  4. I am no longer working at a ford dealership. I now work for Minnesota DOT. We mostly have Rams with Cummins in them they are 4500-5500. I have a 2015 with 74xxx miles probably a lot of idle time but I forgot to check. At times at a stop light or stop sign it starts running rough and has stalled. When it's idling fine at a stop and you accel it runs rough then clears up as you accel. No codes. Also power braking gets it running rough. Fuel filters just changed. Air filter new. Lift pump puts out the 500ml in 10 seconds my fuel psi gauge isn't long enough to see while driving but it has 12-15 psi. We have a snap on scanner and nexiq for big trucks I questioned my app PID didn't look real smooth so I swapped accel pedal out of a different truck. That made no difference. Any advice?
  5. I think it keeps the truck running longer but doesn't change the outcome unless caught early on.
  6. Took a sample from fuel rail today full of glitter.
  7. I am working on a towed in no start that has one of these kits installed. My question is with a high pressure pump failure and tons of metal in frame rail pump and tank do I trust the kit did its job? Or should I recommend the complete fuel system? I have not taken a sample from a fuel rail yet. I will get that done in the morning.
  8. I just completed. I took all cab bolts out put 2x4 flat under front and rear cab mounts. I was unable to get the pan out even with trans pushed up. I put the front 2x4 on edge and pushed the engine up then got the pan out. It was a tight fit but got it done.
  9. Did you put the 2x4 on edge in front or flat?
  10. I fought with one of these always reading low and the fix after many attempts was the harness on the tank. Hotline had me replace the tank multiple times. I would send the truck out full gauge would read full then as soon as it got low customer would add def but gauge would never change. Good customer that was just in this week. Been good since.
  11. I have taken cab off and done it that way once. I had heard about guys saying it was a great way to do it. I had a f550 I couldn't lift and decided to give it a shot that way. After doing it that way my conclusion was it works Ok but not worth it. I previously have removed engine when I was unable to lift.
  12. Stupid expensive but does work good for explorer wheel bearings https://www.promaxxtool.com/extractors/p/tommy?rq=tommy
  13. I have the hold down bolt drill guide from them works great. Yes ,way to expensive but works great
  14. When I have had nox modules blowing fuses they have smelled burnt also.
  15. I would check pin 6 at gpcm for power and pin 5 for ground. I know PPT AF never has u check but if no power and ground to gpcm it can't communicate. It's fuse f36 in bjb I was talking about in previous post that I have had blown on several modified trucks.
  16. Do you have power to glow plug module? I believe the nox modules and glow plug module are on a dedicated Network wire to pcm
  17. I usually have this on shorted out nox modules on modified trucks. I don't remember the fuse number that blows when shorted
  18. The new turbo came with a vgt and he swapped one out of another truck no difference. No idea on maf sensor so I would say no he hasn't done anything with it
