  1. Friend of mine has an early 04 that he says runs good doesn't make any boost. He put a turbo on it made sure the map hose is not plugged still no boost. I told him see if it learns vgt and he said it has now. He took down pipe loose made no difference. Any other ideas I can throw out to a guy with some experience and a snap on scanner? Short of bring it in to me
  2. Looks like this engine got dropped
  3. You thread the tap in and pull out the tap with the cup threaded on the tap. No other tool needed. At least that's how I have done them. Sorry I was thinking about 7.3
  4. I went to Napa and got a trailer u bolt that had 5/8 fine thread like the slide hammer. Cut it off for threaded rod. Ran the tap in threaded the rod in and used a puller as bridge. I think it was a pitman arm puller I found fit
  5. Tsb 11-10-10 it's for 11 and 12. I would double check engine harness near egr cooler like tsb says also. Melting the styrofoam cup makes me think u need fuel system to get this truck fixed.
  6. The only time I have dealt with a bank of injectors shutting down like that it was for the tsb and 8 injectors fixed it
  7. Here is what I would try. Get a different ids or clear out your ids. Put new pcm in pull fuse id it normal but it won't be able to because fuse is out. It will ask for tear tag and Vin put in then install fuse. Allow it to program it should work fine. It seems the key to programing used modules is a fresh ids. If ids can pull info from a previous session it will even if u tell it not to. I think it pulled the Vin one of the times u id it and has no reason to check because it's the same.
  8. Also what are u using to scan this. I question an up to date ids on old 7.3 I recently had a 7.3 truck with 4x4 issue and when I found an old scan tool that was only updated to 2006 it worked for what I needed
  9. I had a similar issue one time. I ended up finding a good running truck not setting codes put it's IDM in problem solved. Don't remember how many I had tried but it was a lot.
  10. I think there was a bad batch of them. I don't think a driver side one would be as noticeable. We feel the effect of the pcm to to react to icp reading.
  11. Has anyone done the fuse box repair. SSM 47899 super duty part # hu5z-14a067-a
  12. I think I put it under e series harness chaffe. When I posted about it.
  13. I had an e series ambulance that did that was a cracked stand pipe
  14. Ok that's what we were figuring on doing.
  15. Does anyone know if they make adapters for the rotating engine stand for these
  16. Got an 04 e series ambulance with 4x4 conversion for head gaskets and bed plate gaskets
  17. I had a truck at the beginning of the week that had been to a different dealership they gave up on it because it was modified. Then it went to performance shop they tried a new tune in programmer then took it back out. When I got it was programed stock with all egr and egt codes on demand. Had to get customer to bring in programmer and program it to even start looking at it.
  18. Never heard of that before. I will look it up. I don't see in the wsm or PC/Ed saying to do a reset. The squad that have tsb for p0420/430 do say to reprogram to latest. I would recommend that.
  19. Sorry my pic of the connector is bad. It seriously showed no signs of issues until I left it unplugged doing another job
  20. I had a truck kick my ass and figured I would share. 2018 start stall went thru PPT leads to fuel pump driver. I jumpered to bypass fuel pump driver truck ran great. Got new driver put in cleared codes went to back out of the stall and it dies. Recheck same codes. PPT leads to driver. Checked like hotline reports guy talked about having to replace driver multiple times to get w good one. So I got one from a no issues truck plugged in. Truck stalled almost immediately. So I print off wiring diagram and see only one connector in-between. When I ohmed the wires they were 3 ohms and that was going they the connector. The connector is above left front tire so I pull the wheel well accessed connector unplugged no issues. I got called away from the truck. When I got back to it the female side of the connector had green water dripping out of the pin in question. Pulled pin out and sure enough corroded right where the pin is crimped to wire. I guess I should have pulled my head out of my ass and load tested the wires when doing PPT.
