Also have a 6.4 wrecker that is a rebuilt unit from a so called diesel performance shop. The vin says the truck is a manual but its an automatic. They brought it in couple weeks ago to be programed to stock. I had a heck of a time getting it done. Ended up pulling pcm using another ids and tear tag. They deleted dpf and egr put programmer in it customer took it. Now its a no start theft lite flashing

Got a 6.4 locked up. I replaced with a complete 13k ago. Junk remans. It is about 2 inches over full on oil short stick. Wonder why the programing didn't shut it down when it was that overfull? I have had plenty come in limp mode when over full.

No problem. I have had a terrible time finding info before also. -

tonybullitt replied to mchan68's topic in Body, Chassis and Electrical
AS4 RESET THE OUTSIDE AIR TEMPERATURE DISPLAY Reset the outside air temperature display by using the following HVAC multiple button press procedure: Press the A/C and RECIRC buttons at the same time and release, followed by a single press of the A/C button within 2 seconds. Is the concern still present? Yes INSTALL a new ambient temperature sensor. REFER to Section 412-01. TEST the system for normal operation. No The system is operating correctly at this time. Resetting the outside air temperature display has corrected the concern. -
2016 F-450 Incorrect Outside Temperature Indication
tonybullitt replied to mchan68's topic in Body, Chassis and Electrical
Normal Operation The ambient air temperature sensor is hardwired to the PCM through separate input and return circuits. The PCM provides a reference voltage to the ambient air temperature sensor and monitors the change in voltage resulting from changes in resistance as determined by outside air temperature. The PCM messages the raw ambient air temperature data to the HVAC module through the Body Control Module (BCM) . The HVAC module then filters the data and sends the modified ambient temperature data to the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) through the BCM in degrees Celsius (metric). When the Fahrenheit (English) display is selected by the driver, the IPC converts the Celsius to Fahrenheit and displays the temperature in the message center. The outside air temperature value can be reset by using a HVAC multiple button press procedure. The reset procedure enables the raw data from the ambient air temperature sensor to be displayed in the message center bypassing the interpretation process carried out by the HVAC module. After the outside air temperature reset has been carried out, the system begins updating through the normal interpretation and update procedure. -

Ecoboost injector seal installation?
tonybullitt replied to Matt Saunoras's topic in All Gasoline Engines
Glad you got it figured out. This is what I found in wsm. NOTICE: Do not lubricate the new lower Teflon® fuel injector seals. Install the Arbor on the fuel injector tips. Use Special Service Tool: 310-207 Installer, Fuel Injector Seal Assembly. NOTICE: Once the Teflon® seal is installed on the Teflon® Seal Guide, it should immediately be installed onto the fuel injector to avoid excessive expansion of the Teflon® seal. NOTE: Make sure that new lower fuel injector Teflon® seals are installed. Install the new Teflon® seals onto the Arbor, using the Pusher Tool (part of the Fuel Injector Seal Installer), slide the Teflon® seals along the Arbor. Using the Pusher Tool, slide the Teflon® seals off of the Teflon® Seal Guide and into the groove on the fuel injectors. Use Special Service Tool: 310-207 Installer, Fuel Injector Seal Assembly. NOTE: Make sure the Teflon® seal is fully seated in the groove on the fuel injector before sizing the Teflon® seal. Some Teflon® seal massaging with your fingers before the Teflon® seal sizer tool is installed will aid in installing the Teflon® seal sizer tool. Position the Teflon® seal sizer tool with the larger opening towards the Teflon® seal. Push while turning the Teflon® seal sizer tool 180 degrees. Use Special Service Tool: 303-1567 Sizer, Teflon Seal. Once the Teflon® seal sizer tool is installed, check and make sure the Teflon® seal is in the sizing portion of the Teflon® seal sizer tool. After one minute, turn the Teflon® seal sizer tool back 180 degrees and remove. -
No, I have rarely been paid straight time on wiring repair. It has happened, but only on few occasions.

My parts guy hasn't been able to find. so we use aftermarket one.

I haven't done 2.7 yet but have done plenty of 2.0 and 3.5 with no troubles. The sizing tool starts to push it and I just rotate as I go and they come out fine. -
mobile column lifts?

This one is empty. The only thing is kind of unnerving how much frame flexes tilting cab into body. Empty gmc flexed further then loaded Ford by the way. -

I had a ccv sensor today. I had cleared code when I ordered and it reset. There is an o ring under the hose that you have to watch you don't roll. Be careful doesn't require much heat.
-
So how do you get away with parts returns? Typically they don't like that. I put the old sensor on the new separator put it back in the box and return to parts. No issue yet and I know they have called some in. I would have heard about it if they had bounced the claim.
-
I have replaced a lot of ccv sensors on 14 and now 15 and 16 coming in. I use a heat gun and heat the tube and pull it off the separator and replace just the ccv sensor and hose.
-
Yes, the new one is the vmm replacement. It is called vcmm and is intended as vmm replacement. I have held the new vcmm in my hand. Well, at least a prototype when I was in Dearborn for trp meetings. The vcm 2 will continue. I also was picked to do a useability test on the ids replacement.
-
Just for your information IDS replacement is being worked on and vcm 1 will not work with the replacement.
-
https://www.motorcraftservice.com/diagnostic/diagids The ids software can be downloaded for free from motorcraft. To use it you need to get an activation code and have either a vcm 1 or a vcm 2.

I helped coworker and he got all correct and the only one we changed was diesel question.

Nice find. Thanks for sharing -
I feel dumb I got the diesel question wrong. I did the same as Matt looked at pcv in wiring diagram
