My stable includes a '97 Exploder with the venurable 302 cid, a '97 Town Car, an '04 Suzuki GSX-R 600. My wife and I are Ford people and she had an '00 Explorer with the V-8, but the fuel mileage was killing us. So she got rid of it and now drives an '05 Subaru Legacy. I picked up a '93 Honda Accord for my commute and went from a 100 bucks a week in fuel to 35 bucks every week and a half.

It's a Lincoln thing, you wouldn't understand.

I ain't real sure what an automotive insurance company has to do with getting bad fuel. If I was a head honcho at Geico or Allstate or whatever and you called me and said that you just filled your tank up at Jimbo's Gas and Go and your fuel system destroyed itself and it was determined that the fuel source caused it and you wanted to open a claim for $8000, then I would promptly tell you to call the gas station with that bill and maybe get yourself a lawyer. These guys that are getting their insurance to pay these claims are gonna get dropped like a hot potatoe when they have an accident or another bad run of fuel. Seen it happen before.

I have said it before and I will say it again, the best bay in the shop is the corner stall.

I'll take one of them six door duallies. Now that the kids are all growd up and out of the house, there just aint enough room for me and Heather in her Subaru Legacy.

21 psi? Wow, I thought these things were supposed to trim back around 16 psi.

That was a reference to an inside joke. I put a turbo on an E-box and knocked the map line off the sensor inadvertantly when I had the wiring harness pulled up from under the cowl. Needless to say it took me a minute or three to figure that out. I was already condeming the turbo.

I have seen those oldies with the oil log, get some junk in them and make its way to one injector and prevent oil from properly getting into the injector. Easy enough to rule out just take the rail off and you will know if something is in there causing an issue.

I was gonna be an architect when I graduated, but my car broke down and the rest is history. I would like to get a degree in electrical engineering. I would like to teach auto techs on an "after high school" level. If I went back to do it over again, I would probably be driving a class 8 truck right now.

You pose a very good question and try as I might I could not determine the cause of the original failure. It was just barely bent if there is such a thing.
