  1. Ever find your solution? All of us on the sidelines are still waiting to know what you found.
  2. Looks a little home grown to be one of those kits. But I can't recall what they look like, either.
  3. Don't use that handheld in that truck is the easy suggestion. Could be an anomaly in the truck or in both radio and truck - even something as simple as a wire that is just the "right" length that resonates ate a particular frequency. Either way, in a case like this, a "proper" solution may cost more than it's worth. Back in 85, I had a customer with a brand new 85 F150 - if he keyed his radio telephone while using cruise control, his truck would speed up. A new phone gave no respite. Repositioning the phone was the final cure.
  4. Jeez, half the time I can't even remember what I had for breakfast, any more. Your story doesn't have anything to do with the birth of a child, does it?
  5. Leon FTW, I think. Seen lots of VSS's coming out of holes with boulders sitting on the knuckles and holes not plugged when the bearing is laying in the dirt..... whoops, I meant on the bench
  6. A lot of this stuff I don't think is resident to one storage spot. I'm pretty sure you are going to find identical instances of the VIDBLOCK in two or more modules. I'm willing to bet a data mismatch is going to announce itself.
  7. It has been said that no man is complete when he is single........ when he gets married - he is finished....
  8. An instructor? Is that like in "I've never ridden a bicycle - but this is how you do it?"
  9. Hope you feel better real quick, Keith. This staying home crap is for the birds. At least I haven't stooped to watching soaps, yet.
  10. I'm still partial to MSDOS 6.whatever - you could always use Dosshell for point and click. Multitasking - hmmph. That would be barfing, shitting, burping, pissing, farting, yawning and jacking off all at the same time.
  11. Just occurred to me that you'd be passing by Slave Lake. Thursday and Friday are already going to be a bit hectic but give me a call - Capt. Obvious has my number......
  12. Somebodies son has that happening. He and his dad will be changing the right hand exhaust manifold bolts for it. Only one looks broken.
  13. My son has a Sirius receiver for his boat. When it's not boating season, I am the benefactor. When it is boating season, I listen to the pauper stations
  14. Whenever you see one bank rich and the other lean put cats high on your list of suspects. Uncork your pipes from the manifolds, and see what you get.
  15. There's a lot of them that I've driven when they were either still on warranty or not far off (I remember seeing my first alternator and my first electronic ignition). I love 'em all. FWIW - I listen to the "'60s on 6" channel on Sirius......
  16. +1 on the stop leak for any "sparkles" (not to mention many "exspurts" have their own idea of "fixing" coolant leaks). A perforated front cover due to cavitation should put coolant in the pan. Scunge in the cooling system with no other symptoms could turn into a witch hunt. I'd suggest flushing and fresh coolant and, if the degas doesn't clean up, a new degas bottle. For any possible overheating, make sure you look down inside the cooling stack. I've seen too many trucks with cooling stacks that look like they have a blanket stuffed in front of the rad.
  17. Sad to say Aaron, there is no "heal" for what I got. I have three lesions in my brain - I go to the ww cross cancer institute in Edmonton in August for an MRI to see if they got bigger or stayed the same. I hope that I am one of the lucky few that get to say "I beat it". Until then, all I can do is get all my ducks in a row, live each day to the fullest and let tomorrow worry about itself. I just finished replacing my water heater and that took quite a bit out of me. For sure I'm not ready for full time work. Employment Insurance is about to run out but I'm pretty sure that they'll re-enroll me for at least the next 15 weeks. Be nice if they paid shit, though. By the time they deduct tax, it's less than $1000 a week..... maybe I should leave my appetite the way it is.
  18. Thanks for joggling my memory, Keith. I'm considering giving the stuff a try. Gonna be funny, I used to be into recreational pharmacology in my youth and gave up on the stuff when I met my wife. I tried a toke about 20 years ago...... Right now, I'm hungry enough to eat the north end out of a southbound skunk...... but I'm out of Eggos and thinking about anything else just ain't cutting it.
  19. Well.... if I drink every night, a 26 will last me 2 weeks. If I drink beer, the fist sip will tell me if I'm going to drink it or dump it. So far, the only thing I can be sure that I can ear comfortably is friggin Eggos....EWWWWWW
  20. Is that the left valve cover you removed? Funny it seemed to clear up with the bulkhead connector disturbed??? Just thinking out loud.....
  21. That's kinda mean, Aaron. The radiation has screwed up my taste. I used to be Mr. "gimmee dead cow"...... now red meat nearly makes me gag. Where was that friggen recipe last year?
  22. I used to be a ginger before the oncologist made all my hair go away and I can sympathize with you, Brad. Sunburn is a yearly ritual. It's a little late to try and help you now, but something my Mum (also a ginger) taught me..... at the first sign of burn, swab the area with white vinegar. You will smell something like a pickle, but you will be a happy pickle. Important to remember - sooner is better. The longer you leave it, the less help the vinegar is. This starts a little slow but any gingers out there will appreciate it.
  23. Tint is allowed on back windows and side windows (i.e. windows behind the drivers row). Windows in the front (drivers) row will have a car being inspected (out of province) fail - but only if the inspecting shop is working within the spirit of the program ( gotta love professionalism ). There's regs on windshield tinting, to. Once you are registered, you will wait for the authorities to do anything - if and when one of them cares. If your insurance company requests a 10 year inspection, the form asks if the vehicle is roadworthy or not. Thankfully, I never got insurance inspections so I could avoid culpability. "Roadworthy'...... wellll - yes, I suppose. Legal? No. Do we need FMVSS and CMVSS? Sometimes the wrong people want to interpret things.
  24. I'm having troubles getting to Stars 2 and web based training. Mind you, it's been a long time since I've been near inford.
