  1. You can add the Contour/Mystique twins to that as well.
  2. That tool would've been excellent for Mercury Villagers.
  3. Didn't Rex, Rin Tin Tin, or Rover (or whatever the fuck his name was) want to slide a 351W into a place where an '03 6.0L once lived? Almost right up there with those who jump the bandwagon dropping ancient early 90s Cummins engines into a place where a 6.0L once resided, just because they can't or don't want to deal with the "complexities" of a 6.0L.
  4. DITTO!!! Might I add no stupid "ever since you ..." claims by the customer as well.
  5. For the record, my 2007 truck (December 2006 build) sporting its orange sticker and all, still has the original EGR cooler intact with no issues and I'm pushing 180,000 kms. (112,000 miles). That said, I sometimes have to wonder why so many new owners of these trucks are so intent on jumping the gun to delete the EGR system upon their purchase. I for one, am toying with the idea of installing the BPD cooler if/when the time comes to open my engine up. So far (knock wood), no issues.
  6. Does that thing really exist or was it photo-shopped? I'm kind of thinking the latter. Not even an armoured truck would be that short.
  7. Is that the same evaporator used on the 6.7L trucks that like to go South? They use the same style instrument panel, so it only stands to reason that the evaporator has to be identical as well.
  8. I've been an SM since 2007 and I definitely haven't seen any kind of appreciable pay increase, just the good old W-A-R-R-A-N-T-Y.
  9. Did you change the oil after replacing the injector? Fuel diluted oil can definitely affect compression readings.

  11.  Thanks!!! I needed a good laugh.
  12. I was elbow deep in gasoline yesterday, fuel pump on a V10 Excursion [real shit show] and a fuel injector F150 V6 [leaking so bad it hydrolocked the motor, er a engine]. Am I correct in my assumption we are working on a F-150 Ecoboost?
  13. It's good to know that I'm not the only guy wrenching on diesels, who also gets to wrench on gassers, hybrids and electrics too. I got a '12 Mustang GT in for long block #2......
  14. So when do you get to drive your truck? My commute is 35 kms. each way.
  15. Best of luck to you replacing Jason Atwood's position Alex.
  16. Gawd almighty, I'm glad I'm not the only who seems overly annoyed by that too. Equally annoying, are the guys that claim "Ford owns Cummings" or post questions about swapping Cummins engines into engine bays where a Powerstroke is supposed to reside. My usual answer is "it'll cost way more money than it will, to fix your Powerstroke properly if the end result is a reliable product with the money spent".
  17. If you find yourself needing to order up an engine harness or glow plug harnesses, I have determined the easiest way to identify whether you have a mid/late build, or late/late build 2004 engine. For starters, if your build date is earlier than September 29th, 2003, you should consider yourself the owner of a 2003 truck, when it comes to ordering any and all engine parts. However, those of you with trucks with build dates after September 29th, 2003, things can get a little tricky when it comes to determining the correct engine harness and glow plug harnesses. Here is how to do it. Look at your ICP sensor on the passenger side valve cover. Pay attention to how the GPCM is bolted up to the bracket that secures to the valve cover. If you happen to have it secured in a manner similar to a 2003 engine, you have a mid/late build 2004 engine. As such, your engine uses engine harness Ford part number 4C3Z-12B637-AA (Navistar ID# 1844262C93), to be used with glow plug harnesses part numbers 4C3Z-12A690-AA (Navistar ID# 1845915 C9) right side, and 4C3Z-12A690-BA (Navistar ID# 1845793 C9) left side. If you have your GPCM mounted on the bracket, identically to the way it is on 2005 and later engines, you have a late/late build 2004 engine. As such, your engine uses engine harness Ford part number 4C3Z-12B637-CA (Navistar ID# 1846377C92), and glow plug harness Ford part numbers 4C2Z-12A690-AB (Navistar ID# 1845794 C9) right side, and 4C2Z-12A690-BA (Navistar ID# 1845695 C9). Notice, the right side glow plug harness part number is also identical to that, that is used on '05 and later engines.
  18. The chances of that particular car ever being repaired back to the condition it was, prior to the event are slim to none. That, along with what you've outlined in the next couple of sentences are all the better reason the car should be written off.
  19. I just did a PCM reprogram yesterday after some work. I thought that when a PCM reprogram is done, it goes through the steps of reprogramming the TCM, GPCM and NOx modules as well. After the one I did yesterday, I couldn't even find any of those modules in the list of the reprogrammable ones. What gives?
  20. It wasn't copper spray. It was some gooey pink shit you sprayed onto the updated MLS type gasket that replaced the original oil leaking composite POS gaskets that paid 4.1 hours warranty time, but could be done in two or less hours back in the day.
  21. You just answered your own question.
