  1. I'm sure the V-10 option will likely be more for customers in California... I don't imagine you'll see too many outside of the eco-dictatorship.
  2. ...and that's what I refer to as a root cause of coking.
  3. I put 10W30 in everything except for 7.3s...
  4. The baffle is just a bandaid in my opinion. Getting to the root cause of the coking is a better solution...
  5. I suppose there wouldn't be any conflict of interest there!
  6. That oil filter is by far the worst filter on the market. Anybody that has any pride in the work they do would refuse to use that filter.
  7. I've done one branch tube in the WSM method. Now, I remove the heads.
  8. The commute was the major factor, but there were a few other things that weighed in to it... No single reason was enough to make the switch, but all bundled together it was. There have been too many days, and sometimes whole weeks that I have left for work while my son was still sleeping, and he was back in bed by the time I got home at night. Now that I have another new baby, I want to focus more on my family, and less on work, money and the hellish drive I was going through every day had me in a pretty shit mood at the end of the day. For those of you who are unaware of the traffic in the Greater Toronto Area, it is constantly ranked in the top 5 worst traffic cities in North America, and only getting worse.
  9. Not bad equipment for a little country dealership...
  10. The service department has no extended hours, and isn't open on Saturdays, so that's out of the question!
  11. So, after nearly 10 years of driving, driving and driving 150km every day, today I moved my tools and shit to a new dealership that is 15 minutes from home. I have no idea what I'm going to do with all this extra time... Wish me luck!
  12. I always reuse the injector when a hold down breaks. I just replace the seals, tube and hold down... And the 0.7 hour abortion when needed.
  13. The worst part of it, is that your vehicle value just dropped astronomically. About 3 years ago, my wife hit a deer with our Flex... It had a $5000 insurance claim made against it, consisting of a new hood, condensor, grille, 2 headlights, 2 fog lights and a bumper plus a few weeks rental car... Last year we wanted to trade it in on another Flex, and our trade value was way below wholesale value because the Carfax report showed the claim value (not what was repaired), and they claim it will decrease the price they can sell it at. We went to 3 other dealerships to try and trade it in, and they all said the same thing. I sure it's just a way for rat-douchebag used car managers to maximize profit, but we're stuck with the vehicle nonetheless...
  14. These are the two sample jars I collected... I left them outside overnight flipped them up side down... Can you guess which one has anti-gel in it?
  15. There is a new fuel additive that has been on the market for the last 3 or 4 years called "DEF" that's been causing a few issues!
  16. I don't remember the exact spec, but Fords won't run an evap monitor at ambient temperatures below something like 45 degrees. They are "supposed to" clear after 2 drive cycles with low ambient temperatures, but that hardly seems to be the case... In Ontario, it's been such and issue that they will give you a two speed idle test if the EVAP monitor won't clear after 2 tests.
  17. Oh, oh... Wait... Was there a plastic plug in the bottom of the new pump that may have not been removed? It's been a while since I've replaced one, so I don't recall if they plugged them or not, or perhaps a loose pump gear?... Otherwise, if it's deadheaded, and you've verified the oil supply to the pump, I can't think of anything else it could be. A branch tube issue wouldn't be eliminated by deadheading the system, but you should hear that with an air test.
  18. I did that on Friday. I had a recently (2 days ago) delivered F-750 towed in. It was built in September, and was still on the original fuel that it came from (our sales department can be a bit cheap, and don't necessarily fill the fuel tanks). I imagine it wasn't any sort of winter fuel, especially being a Mexican truck. I took a sample and put it outside in the cold. I also took another sample of the same fuel and added a very small amount of anti-gel to the fuel and placed them side by side. The fuel without the anti-gel clouded up in under an hour, where the sample with the anti-gel remained clear. I suppose if the fuel were topped off with winter fuel, there would have been no issues.
  19. I charged 25 hours for the last one I did. Took way less time. Don't count on the water separator to removed DEF from the fuel (as we had a customer do)... The water separator will only remove the water portion of the solution, not the urea.
  20. I recall the first time I ever drove a Supercoupe when I was just a wee-apprentice. It got a pretty severe shit kicking. But, it did belong to the dealership, so I don't feel that bad about it.
  21. Excuse my lack of connector number knowledge... But, did you check the 3 connectors on the left frame rail?
