  1. Is this a common problem with engine failures. Does the high pump get damaged when the engine locks up.
  2. I just heard about this the other day. Why would they risk doing something like this, just does not make sense.
  3. Got to love new technology, I lean towards the iphone as well.
  4. Customer came down and had a look, he called them up and told them about what I had seen so far. He still wants me to put then engine in and the engine builder told me just to clean and swap bolts over from the old engine.
  5. Forgot to note this is not a ford reman, its is from some place called engientech machining in edmonton alberta. Anyone from alberta know anything about this company? I have already told my higher ups that this does not look good and apparently I don't have a choice, it has to go in.
  6. I get to put this well built reman 6.7 that the customer supplied us. So far I have found missing intake bolts, missing plug for the oil pick up and they used black silicone instead of the metal gasket for the intake manifold. That's why the bolts are missing in the intake, because the holes are full of silicone so the builder decided not to put them in.
  7. Good luck and all the best, more and more I am seeing that flat rate jobs are not the best for family life.
  8. I have had the newer style pumps fail that way too, one brand new reman as well. One tip I can give is install a new oil pressure sending unit, if you test using nitrogen at high pressures it will damage the sending unit and cause it to leak after.
  9. Got 2012 that was a no start with low icp when cranking. Vcv was stuck so i removed it to inspect and this is what I found.
  10. I emailed them and they told me not everyone has access to the beta version only certain people, so I guess we wait then.
  11. I just saw they have a PTS app for your phone or tablet now. I went to the link but it kicks me out. Has anyone got this to work yet ?
  12. Cooler will not fix it but still probably needs a core , power brake at wot and check for black smoke out the tail pipe. If it blows black you will need and scr/dpf.
  13. The one I had was a 2004 with icp sensor in the rail, came in for the oil pressure light on. Removed the high pressure oil pump and found the ball missing. Put a reman pump in and it was good after that. My oil pressure was low too when I first checked it, I think it only takes 8psi to put the needle in the middle of the oil pressure gauge.
  14. When I worked next to the trans guy he did the tsb for a noise at idle on an 2006 cvt and it did not fix it, he called the hotline and they got him to look at the flat roller bearings. Sorry this information might be a bit vague but what I can remember from this is that a six dollar bearing fixed his transmission noise.
  15. I called(emailed) the hotline and they told me the updated turbo will need an updated coolant line, they gave me this part # fc3z-9u469-b.
  16. No message about the coolant line, but the part number has been updated. It doesn't look like the flange can rotate I tried moving it with a little bit of force and it didn't budge.
  17. I just got my first updated turbo for that p259f code and found out there are some more parts you will need to get. First off you will need the gasket and bolts that goes in between the turbo and the pedestal as the new turbo does not come as one, O-rings and bolts for the oil feed and coolant lines and you will need a new coolant line as they have re located how it bolts down on the turbo. Just got caught off guard as all the other turbos for 6.7 have been drop in and go. This one will have to get pushed out side as that coolant line is not stocked in Canada. The 2015 upper intake is a bit more of a pain in the ass and the v-band clamps are harder to get at IMO.
  18. I had a 2014 6.7 getting around 360 psi last time I did one.
  19. Matt what do you mean not hooked to each other, did they not have the cables hooked up on one batterie? Could you explain what you found, I had a quit look at one that is doing the same thing.
  20. It must be, I cleaned it up and will re inspect the truck later on. I am going to start an oil consumption test and see if this thing is really losing oil.
