  1. there is very little or no visible contaminants in the tank. I know in the past I have replaced the switching valve on sick liters and that fixed it when the noise on one tank only. Would like to recheck fuel pressure, but gauge was borrowed and that person out of town. I am limited to tools.
  2. 2012 f 450. Came in with P0087.Tested low fuel pressure.Found at 35 psi and replaced pump. Comes back with repeat code.Found that low pressure pump now only noisy after truck is driven but not noisy when cold. Dropped aft tank and found no problems. Read some things about fuel rail and pcv issues, but would this explain my noisy pump only when switch to aft tank. Both tanks by the way are full and truck has 95935 miles.
  3. Also the pump is quiet on this 2012 f450 when cold , but becomes noisy when switched to the aft pump after getting warm.have already dropped aft tank and found no delamination
  4. what kind of labor cp would we be looking at for the fuel rail?
  5. Need vcm 1 cable that has the dlc connector.
  6. I did have to update the prom first before it would take. FYI
  7. Thanks for that info. That did the trick!
  8. Randomly, my vcm will try to do a code update. This will go on for several minutes but never complete. Is there a way to update otherwise? I just cancel out. It works fine otherwise.

  11. I keep getting different part numbers from the dealership. I work for a fleet
  12. are there different cab bushings for regular cab vs crew cab?
  13. Was doing some ac work on 2009 model when I noticed a sticker on the engine that stated that if you find the engine overfull by one quart, the engine will require replacement.Really? Ideas?
  14. Clark. They will tell you what you want to hear. Beware Beware Beware!!!!!!!
  15. I myself, would advise against flat rate. For one thing, you are use to hourly pay.Since 2008,my numbers dropped in half due to bs labor times, jumping thru hoops and unfair delegation of work.I also found being the new guy meant I got the worst of the worst jobs. I was senior master and had 25 years experience. As for top pay, that doesn't mean crap when you have no hours.Yes,I agree there is a big demand for skilled techs. I have dealers calling me all the time. I ask hourly? No ,but we have lots of work. Usually bs talk for we will get you in the door and see what happens. I have seen many good techs fall by the wayside over the last few years and I is not getting any better. I worked on gas and diesel and took pride in my work. I was always concerned about doing a good job. When I became Senior master,it went to s$#t, because all I got was diesel warranty. This is the only industry on the planet that punishes you for dedication, hard work and be highly educated. I work for a fleet now and It is much less stressful. No flat rape and no real politics to mention. That is my 2 cents worth
  16. I am interested in knowing how flat rate techs maintain a decent attitude in this day and time. I personally left Ford after many years of faithful employment ,because I could not handle the stress and politics of the position any longer.. During my time with Ford I became senior master and kept it up when needed. I work for a fleet company now, but no one knows what the future holds. I feel for those who struggle, and I feel for all of the spouses that wonder what hours are going to be like week end and week out.
  17. I have one right now that also has a concave line where it connects to the HPFP. I would advise anyone to inspect these lines before reinstalling them.
  18. I have one in the air now that bolt broke off in the nut, even are repeated heating. This happen to any one else? What did you do? It is on the right front
