Have f-450 2007 ambulance.When off idle ,power balance shows 1,3,5,7 cyls wack.Ran the bubble test as seen in the article section ,but saw no bubbles.Customer states that when it warms up,problem disappears.Passes koeo and koer test and buzz test.fuel presure good under load.Performed ficm update,believe it or not this had never been done,Truck seems to run better when cold but not solved.This leads me to believe I have some bad injectors.REmember something about fuel rail dampener sticking,broke causing issues on one bank.What do you guys think?

  3. just bought a dell netbook with 10 inch screen.loaded ids and everything fine except cannot view all info in the screen at one time.resolution is at highest setting.any thoughts?
  4. I have an 08 f-350 I put a motor in last week.I replaced all the cac tubes.Since then hot side bottom tube has blown off 3 times.I have checked for proper part # and torqued the clamp.Am going to call hotline in the morning.What bs!

Things have been bizare here lately.I had an f-250 that had an intermittent no start.customer had towed in twice.no codes and starts every time.Hot,cold or driven everyway I can,cannot recreate concern.Made recordings,tested ect......Finally installed vdr.Next day comes back.Look at recording and see low icp.What the f--k?Fix was dummy plug,but customer never wanted to leave truck.Why never any icp code/s?Hotline say's"I don't know."Anyway,now have 05 excursion that I replaced ficm for low voltage codes 611 and all cylinders with low injectors.This fixed that problem and I returned truck to customer.This was on the 22nd of Dec.Now truck back with no start.Say's was never fixed the first time.Mind you this truck bought used and out of warranty!Going through the same sinario again.I do not like for things to beat me and will work till the death.What would you guys do in these situations?At the end of my rope!

I have one that is intermittently a no start when cold.Once had a p2614 of 2617.Can't remember.Cleared those codes a while back.I know the tsb concerning loose mini fuses can cause a no start.This morning would not start.It finally started,but ran poorly and smoked for a few minutes.The temp was right at freezing.Got into shop and runs good.Checked mini fuse and found number 18 mini fuse a little loose,but wiggling had no effect.The warmer the truck gets the tighter the fuse seems.This is an 05 f-250 with 98k miles.It also looks there has been dirt on top of all relays and fuses in box.My question is has anyone seen this on a very cold morning,or does this sound fimilar.
  10. Pulled the housing to find one of the thermostats mising the rubber piece on the bottom.It was also aparently sticking from the markings present.It concerns me to see so many engine failures due to cooling system problems.I pray the Ford engine will be better.

Could cavitation cause erratic coolant temp gauge readings?Have one now that just replaced leaking radiator for second time.Test drive and seems ok for a while then temp climbed way up.By the time got back to the shop was almost back to normal.Now has a p0128,thermostat stuck open code.Makes me wonder.
  12. Replaced the chra and all is well.The old turbo passed the vgt test,so I guess that can be a waste of time.
  13. What I mean by excessive play is .025 in radial play.
  14. Well,took turbo off to inspect.found excessive play in turbo.Saw the post on repeat failure and was wondering exactly how you perform a cranking flow test?I'm afraid of another turbo failure.

Hi Bruce, Did verify the map,baro and ebp all close.Removed the ebp and tube,but no blockage.Fuel pressure is at 45 at wot.fuel quality is good.Oil looks good and is full.Made some recordings and sent them to hotline.The weirdest looking thing is the egr looks wack proportional to ebp.icp looks steady.Inspected that connector also.Customer did state no problems before turbo failure.Other dealer stated shaft and impeller,turbo vanes destroyed.Did not find anything in downpipe.Thanks for the input.
  16. 2005 f-250.Has a surge about 2000 rpm.Have tried and looked at everything.Called hotline no help.Only thing to go on was turbo just replaced at other dealer.passes every test on ids.passes turbo test and installed new egr valve.Help please
  17. Hey removed the block heater element and found the stuff caked on the thing.Anyway,I press the oil cooler pieces together using the lift itself and a block of wood.Line it up and use the weight of the vehicle to push together.Lube parts up with vasaline.
  18. Actually,the stuff was in the very end where the coolant flows,but that was great information to know.
