  1. Ah. Found it. http://www.hotrod.com/featuredvehicles/hrdp_0611_72_nova_w2w/index.html Thousand horsepower. Column shift, bench seat with ratty old cover, mid 70's steering wheel cover with that plastic string that wraps around it to hold it on.
  2. I will post up some more local hot rods when I get a few more pictures. FWIW - the above is my hotrod. Ignore the butchery that is attempting to pass for wiring, that was in there when I bought it. Hoping to get out playing soon. Trans is ready to go (JW 400, reverse manual, transbrake, 3500 billet converter). I'm going to put a mild stroker smallblock in it for now, until I can get my big motor together.
  3. On the no ET nights, you can run a pro tree, full tree, or armdrop, whichever you prefer. I personally like the full tree on a footbrake car, but if you're running a transbrake a pro tree is nice This is my buddy Chris' Monte Carlo. He runs the local chassis shop. This man's welding is like artwork. It looks like the two pieces of pipe that are welded together are actually one formed piece. The man is a fucking ARTIST with that welder. Car has a 600+ inch big block Ford in it. Should be a mean rig when it's ready to go. It's real close.

If it was such a rush to get it out, why not just jam a SC Mod motor in it? Or a DOHC mod motor? Emissions, don't tell me.
  5. Oh yeah, and throttle stops, tapping the brakes, etc, are for GIRLS. Too fast? Dial the fucking car hard! Only reason he was on the brakes is because the car doesn't usually unload the chassis like that. He whacked it harder than usual outta the hole. It was running 7.60's that weekend on previous passes, and of course nobody got any fucking video of that. LOL I like the headsup race nights at Milan, the no ET stuff is neat, too, 'cause guys bet BIG dollars on the stuff, and it's heads up, and nobody knows what it'll run. This car, for instance, has been 8.90's Can't even see the rollcage, can you? There is a 9 second 68-9 nova in these parts with a procharged LS-series motor in it, with dogdish hubcaps, dings in the bodywork, it's ol' grandma green. You'd never suspect a thing. Timing retards are needed for nitrous oxide, only, or to crank over a high compression motor and not put a starter on it after every weekend My current endeavor is going to be somehwere in the 13.2-13.5:1 range, on a small Chevy, on gasoline.
  6. Fuel standoff and intake reversion are kinda related, aren't they? And I am all for horsepower being made with 13:1 or more compression, 250+ degrees of duration at .050, and something that won't idle below about 1000rpm, that the average guy can't figure out how to start, because there's no choke on it, and it's not EFI When you give the accelerator a little rap, that 4500 Dominator (or DominatorS) perched above the high rise single plane intake or tunnel ram should create such a vacuum above the engine compartment, it pulls bystanders closer to the car. Horsepower should be brutal, loud, and unforgiving. I thought there was some revival talk of the Cammer, but I may be wrong. However, as for brutal, here's my buddy Andrew's STREET car. It's the mustang in the close lane. 8.60 on the brakes...the car has gone 7's.

Maybe they used steel screen door screen instead of that plastic shit on this go round of them. I believe I have located one...I think.
  8. I've been sayin that for awhile now. You can't tell me that we don't have the technology in already present modules to do this. A super duty has a module that simulates the key being turned off....so....yeah. But, just like enabling RKE on a 2008 Super Duty, it can't be done, right? Right guys? I have, however noticed that the best factory installs seem to be in Fusions. I also like on F-trucks when they come with a RMST - they don't use the pass through wires for the hood switch, and I have seen a couple hood switches not even installed on factory ones. Too bad I value my fingers so much, or I could rock a pretty good financial gain outta that.

Meh, I got a Super Duty However, I really dig that color on that Raptor. And the only thing I am compensating for is that I'm 6'5 and 275lbs and I need a vehicle I FIT in to drive. But now I'm all crippled up. As an aside, I did a pre-delivery inspection on a 2010 Focus last week - I had the seat adjusted in such a manner that the top of my melon was about 5" from the roof, and i had to REACH for the steering wheel. And I wasn't driving 'gangsta', either. I was very impressed. Trunk in them things is huge, too. Hope you got a big trunk, 'cause I'm gonna put my bike in it!
  10. Is that the guy's place you and I were at Jim? With the Mopars and the Viper and the Vette?

Just a 5.4 3v though, according to OASIS. Yeah, I wrote the VIN down. My wife said that truck makes her horny.

Raptor at a dealer near me. Oasis shows a 5.4 3v. Window sticker shows a 5.4 3v. What gives? Some photos for you guys to enjoy:
  13. And the original reason that car was in there, was the keypad on the door didn't work. Because the wiring was hacked to pieces in the kickplate.
  14. The thing that bothers me the most is on the alarm/rmst packages, they want to you tie the module to a wiring harness so it can move around and activate the shock sensor. That's all well and good, but should the customer ever see that, it looks like a big pile of fuck hanging there under the dash. Hell, the one that was installed in my truck when I bought it, I can rest my boot against it while I'm driving, in the place it's mounted.
  15. My last run-in with this, was "The new EGR valves do not operate within the same range. If the test fails however there is no driveability concerns, release the vehicle to the customer and monitor oasis for updates." http://www.forddoctorsdts.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=24551#Post24551 I can't remember offhand how many valves I hung in it, but I know it was 3 or more. Oh, and it was an Econoline.
  16. Shouldn't say FACTORY, but they come off the truck like that - from what I understand they ARE installed by a 3rd party, but still. My boss saw that and said he'd FIRE someone for installing one like that.
  17. I've got it between an hour and 90 minutes to have the cab (pickup) 6 feet in the air, so it's not even really a question anymore, for me.

Promise date of NOV 10/09? WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT?! How many of these are we changing? I know almost EVERY one I have apart needs that stupid screen replaced!
  19. It ended up needing a front cover. Was blowing back, but initially it looked like a bedplate due to the oil EVERYWHERE on the initial visit.
  20. I did an 05 and bolts were up through the bottom also. Several of them were loose.
  21. ^^^^ Yeah but I bet in less than 10k every trim piece/accessory inside that Dodge rattles. If the trans lasts that long.
  22. Other than the throttle plate wiring, any difference? I've been seeing a lot of trucks lately with the EGR plate body with two dummy sensors on it.
