  5. Installing the RH head with the cab off, with the studs in the block, and the exhaust manifold on the head, the manifold hits the RH spring tower.

I have found that the best ATF is the stuff that comes out of a unit you're tearing down, complete with grit and sand and all the other associated shit that ends up in the used oil as you are doing your teardown/inspection. Works better than the $15 a jug hand cleaner. Now, oil from a burned up ol' C6 on the other hand...not so much good for cleaning, if you dont mind smelling up your entire house/car/etc.

  11. I don't know for sure if 220 is TOO hot, but the one I did had the fan stator all cut to ratshit and was around 213 or so at it's hottest in 100 degree heat. But I had a new radiator, as well.

  13. I had one about 3 weeks ago (E-Box) that melted the return hose from the EGR cooler off of the degas bottle. Got 25* ECT/EOT spread IDLING in the shop.

You said you ran it with the turbo off, I'd be interested to yank the feed pipes off and see if there's anything in them. Sounds like you got a stumper on your hands. Keep us in the updates!
  15. I have seen a few of these when I was at the Indy shop with that grommet/oring where the filler neck goes into the tank causing this concern. Just something to look at on the ol' town house.
  16. Pfft. I just wont show up. The last shop I worked at was open until 10pm, one day a week you would work from 8am to 10pm. It wasn't bad, if it was slow or we had no appointments, you would go home.
  17. AWW MAN I had the same thing! Got the motor in the truck and everything, and here's this wiring connector that seemingly doesn't go anywhere! Wrong damn pan! That SUCKED. Glad you got 'er fixed up though man!
  18. Several of my truck pull buddies run Cummins' at over 100PSI, single turbo on the one guy's truck. I bet that prick would suck your hand off if you got too close to the inlet.Another guy runs a Cummins with a compound ATS Aurora 3000 (i think) as the primary ("little" - ) turbo, and an ATS Aurora 5000 as the secondary turbo - he runs 121PSI.Last I talked to him, it had spit a few frost plugs out I've had the pleasure of doing some work on that badass machine, and lemme tell ya, it's a fuckin' rocketship if you can get it hooked up.

  24. I got some nice forged eagle stuff awhile back from a guy that thought it would be efficient use of a Nylock to use it to retain the oil pump on the stud. Needless to say, that worked out not so well with a 14:1 compression motor on the jug. Got 'er warm a few times, nylon melted, and the nut shook off. Had to slice the crank .030 on the mains to clean it up, but it is still running well AFAIK.
  25. Jim - do you have good luck with the eagle stuff? I have had a bunch of it go for a poop with real low miles/hours. Big Chevy stuff, though.
