  1. What kind of noise does a degas bottle make? WOOOOT WOOOOOOOOT just like a train! Just to clarify, the original repairing tech wasn't me Over 40 degrees EOT/ECT, in 40F degree ambient temperature.
  2. Thanks Larry! Will do! And Keith - that's a neat lookin rig! Edit: Jim - I've used a few of those before, and had some troubles finding one designed for the....husky gentleman. I've had a couple of 'em collapse on me at REAL inopportune times (like setting a head and exh manifold on a 6.2 GM diesel comes to mind...)
  3. I would like them steps a lot better if the feet kept it stationary on the floor a little better. If you're leanin a WAYS the fuck over into the engine compartment, and got your pieces over the edge of the fender, when that stupid step slips out from under ya, it sucks. And the top side creeper does the job, but it's about as comfortable as laying ON the engine.
  4. Quote: People talking about the high pressure oil system however I fail to see how this will cause it to loose power, considering the oil gauge shows more than 3/4 pressure at all times. I'm not very smart, but I'm a hard worker. I think i saw that dude's name over one of the seats on today's shortbus adventure....
  5. I'd threaten a brutal book beating, if one isn't there by the end of the week.
  6. What is word....REE-TAYLE? I've never had to do one retail yet, so I've never really thought about it. What's the Chilton/Motor manual say it pays?
  7. 2.0 Is the WARRANTY time to change it...
  8. Tell me about it. Fucker's gonna get 4 bottles of irontite, and get sent down the road. http://www.forddoctorsdts.com/public/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif http://www.forddoctorsdts.com/public/style_emoticons/default/banghead.gif http://www.forddoctorsdts.com/public/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif http://www.forddoctorsdts.com/public/style_emoticons/default/banghead.gif http://www.forddoctorsdts.com/public/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif http://www.forddoctorsdts.com/public/style_emoticons/default/banghead.gif http://www.forddoctorsdts.com/public/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif http://www.forddoctorsdts.com/public/style_emoticons/default/banghead.gif http://www.forddoctorsdts.com/public/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif http://www.forddoctorsdts.com/public/style_emoticons/default/banghead.gif http://www.forddoctorsdts.com/public/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif http://www.forddoctorsdts.com/public/style_emoticons/default/banghead.gif http://www.forddoctorsdts.com/public/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif http://www.forddoctorsdts.com/public/style_emoticons/default/banghead.gif http://www.forddoctorsdts.com/public/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif http://www.forddoctorsdts.com/public/style_emoticons/default/banghead.gif http://www.forddoctorsdts.com/public/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif http://www.forddoctorsdts.com/public/style_emoticons/default/banghead.gif http://www.forddoctorsdts.com/public/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif Whoa. Sorry about that.
  9. Your parts room cant find it?! I can get it for you tomorrow, unless someone posts it up before me.
  10. "I thought it was an either/or in the top housing, and they just included both!"
  11. Hey, at least the 'vette runs and drives!
  12. Drop me a PM on here, I'd be interested in that coffee table book. Thanks!
  13. Yeah - why the fuck can't we watch NHRA on TV anymore?
  14. The super bowl is localized in the master bathroom of my house, after a night of draft beer and chicken wings. Looking forward to Winternats and Daytona.
  15. I've changed the oil on a diesel tempo once. That is all. LOL. Larry - do you work on saturdays?
  16. My Factory Fit filter on my 6.4 did that, as well as several customer vehicles, with varying amounts of mileage, be it under, around, or much later than the reccomended interval. I had a truck with 23,000KM on it with a factory fit filter in it, and the top stayed on it. Seems like maybe some get a little more glue than others? Hard to say.
  17. 3 Cylinder Geo Metros don't have AC either, for the same reason - if you wanted AC in your metro, you had to get the Big-Block 4-cylinder option.
  18. This was discussed on another forum I am a member of, and it is true from what I remember. Consider taking mass transit! Priceless!
  19. For Diesel Power's 82 Diesel Chevette. 35.72 Horsepower 59.91 Ft-Lbs of gut-wrenching, tire smoking torque. Powerstroke, watch out.
  20. I use this method, and it works well - gives you time to fill out the LOF sticker, fill out your QC-550, put in your cause and correction statements in the cipherin' machine... Such as this: Factory fit oil filter present during LOF. First LOF - Please discuss maintenance habits with customer. 23,036km or: Please inform customer setting the tire pressures all the same to whatever pressure he likes does not turn the tire light off. Please inform customer to inflate tires to specifications on tire placard inside driver's doorjamb. I REALLY like that this is a tech-only site and customers can't stumble upon our comments. Same guy was told by a Ford engineer that I could re-map his fuel tables to improve his fuel economy.
  21. There is a device at www.dpf-r.com that resets the dpf counter after the key is on for 15 seconds with the engine not running, so it can't be that heavy of a security system, IMHO. I do like how it uses the map signal and modifies it to fool the DPF pressure sensor into thinking there is a filter present.
  22. P244A was the code, now that I have had my memory slightly refreshed by the monkeyhouse.
