Gonna have my buddy start running them off on his water jet, and make the hole in the center about .005 larger so it doesn't grab the CHRA as readily as it seems to.

I was gonna say, the last one I priced out was like $275 from Ford here in Canada.

^^^ I like the pipe trick. The 4 post I used to use was open at the front so you could JUST not squeeze the cherry picker legs between it. You had to drive the truck as far as you could ahead on the hoist, so pretty much the entire fuckin' engine hung over the front of the hoist, then you could pull it ok. A set of chainfalls would have been a godsend though.

My genset is only 1500W and 110v. It will barely run my freezer and my fridge. And my concern with the A/C is moreso for the critters than myself. It can get pretty ugly here when it gets warm, especially inside. News says we just lost another soldier in Asscrackistan. Sgt. James Patrick Macneil. Moment of silence, fellows. Support our troops. Thank you Sgt. Macneil for your service. Godspeed.

I like that PTO mount though, it runs 220 so I can run the central air

The insurance covered removing the tree from the roof. I am responsible for doing whatever the fuck I like with it now that it's in my yard. I shoulda pushed the fucker onto the air conditioner. They cover the roof, soffit/fascia, eaves-trough, and the damage inside the house. The transmission is supposed to be covered by the auto insurance policy on my RACECAR. I told the lady on the phone, I said it's a fuckin' racecar lady! She could not get her head wrapped around that fact. So I said fine, let's start a policy on it. It's a 79 Malibu. It has no seatbelts (5 points), no wipers, no parking brake. No exhaust. It does not meet federal or provincial emissions standards. It has a roll cage in it. And at that point, she stopped me and said oh, we can't insure that. So I asked her. If my house burned down, with the car in the garage, I'd be on my own? "Yup." Real nice.

An older boy made me do it. LOL I dragged most of the light shit around (small branches and shit) and they did all the cutting and heavy stuff. We had a pretty good burn last night me and a few folks, burned most of the shit off the front lawn. I think probably next weekend I'll burn some more of the smaller stuff throughout the week or next weekend. Some of the bigger stuff is pretty saturated though. I threw a stump/log on the fire, and it was on there for about 5 hours and it's still there. It's only dried about 1/3 of it, and it is still not burning, so she's gotta be pretty water-logged, I'm thinkin.

Would like 6000 watts peak, or more, if possible.

Does such an animal exist? I am looking for an add-on generator that is capable of producing a LOT of watts, and 110v, preferably something that would go in place of the secondary alternator on a 6.4 Powerstroke truck. The higher the wattage capability the better. The reason I ask, is because a 6000 watt inverter is ENORMOUS, and I'd ideally like to use the truck as a stationary emergency power source, as opposed to buying a generator. I'd also like it to be a permanent installation, whereas there's nowhere to put an inverter of that size without limiting interior space. If it would fit behind the rear seat, I'd entertain the idea. I don't know if a product like this exists, but I figure this would be the place to ask! Thanks in advance fellows! As bolt-on as possible would be nice, as well. I hate those bastardized kits that come with all sorts of goofy brackets and shit that seemingly do nothing aside from make EVERYTHING else under the hood a miserable prick to get at.

I'd get a DT style battery with side and top posts. Put the inverter off the side posts, and the truck stuff off the top. And yeah, for that size of inverter, battery only.

And typically, I've been looking after a whole bunch of other shit as well when I have the engine out... up pipes, usually that plate behind the flywheel is all fucking rotten so it gets changed too, etc. etc. My buddy Joe can do a E-van 7.3 pan in 8 hours. Out of chassis, no butchering. He's FAST. The last one him and I tag-teamed, my hand slipped lowering the motor back into the chassis, and the picker lost all hydraulic pressure. The motor fell onto the mounts, the bellhousing, and the flywheel all lined up. He said had he not been standing there, he wouldn't believe it.

ALSO... make sure the fucking date on the silicone isn't expired! 9 months later, it still hadn't cured... FUCCCCCK. And 15 hours? I haven't done one in quite some time, but isn't that a little light? The last one I did, was an e-van with a whole lot of extra add-on shit, I don't know if it's good or not.

I know of one particular 6.0 truck with no cat on it, and it doesn't smoke at all. I also know of a couple 6.4 trucks with DPF/DOC deletes with no real horsepower added (0 or 40hp) that don't smoke, either. They have sooty pipes, but no smoke under accel. And then there's a couple trucks I have seen with 210-275hp added and DPF deletes, and smoke is...HEAVY. My buddy's truck has a 210hp tune in it, with a manual trans, and he can't get any mre than 2/3 throttle before the clutch starts to slip. He sees a slight haze behind the truck when he gets on it hard from a stoplight. I agree 100 percent on the diag by viewing the EGT sensors. I had my EGT13 out to anti-sieze it (I keep one in the glovebox in the event of a roadside EGT sensor failure so I can get back rollin' down the road again) and that thing, at 44,000mi is CLEAN as a whip. You could put it in the bag and sell it as new, had it not been for a little bit of light surface rust on the head of the flare nut. There are TWO trucks that I know of with any significant mileage on them that have no soot in the pipes -- one of them being mine. I had mine chipped for some time, until it started causing idle problems, especially up on the fast idle.

Hey fellers, here's my pics of my fancy-ass hizzouse that's all beat to ratshit from tree damage. The tree in question punched a 10" diameter hole through the roof, and into the "dry" room in my garage where I kept my racecar parts. Mike, my neighbor on the right, and his dad on the left. Couldn't ask for better neighbors, makes me kinda sad I gotta move. They were out chopping and cutting and helping out and refused to let me lift anything on account of my back Soffit/Fascia damage The view from the front, the blue cord coming out of the window of my tree-fiddy is powering up some shit in the house from the inverter. View from up on the roof Knocked the lid off the vent. Busted the crest of the roof. Sumbitch! The point of 'entry'. Crunch! Rotten ol' piece 'a shit... Oh Joy, Oh Rapture... Here's what a $2600 transmission that's full of rainwater looks like...

Sounds like the one the ex just bought. As Mike mentioned, tone rings are problematic as well but now there's an approved repair for just the ring, so we don't have to buy the rear rngs any more and pound them off the wheel to use them on the fronts. Mike (different Mike, the guy that works down the hall from me at work) has had very few of these apart for any major repairs. He does all the gasoline heavy line/engine work. The 08's are a little more problematic than the earlier ones, engine wise. There's some cylinder head tapping noise issues as well as the trans cooler deal. We had our first 09/10 (can't remember the year) 10B15 victim this week that actually failed the load test and needed a rebuild. So far so good for the rest of 'em.

My ex wife has a 2006 she likes it. Needs to be rid of the Continental tires, but other than that it's ok. Oh, that and the 9oz of weight on the LF wheel....

Well, you know me well enough to know that I ain't draggin' my ass all the way into Windsor for any ol' reason, let alone that early in the morning/late at night.

And with him, will come a guy from the Ministry of the Environment to supervise the test and be sure it's done properly. I'm gonna bring my old water softener in and put it beside my toolbox, label it "SUPER DUTY COOLING SYSTEM FILL STATION" Either that, or build a still... copper lines, and tanks, and a sterno heater... oh shit that would be funny. "Makin' whiskey?" "Nope, just filling up the cooling system on your truck, sir!"

Called warranty hotline today -- they said they would pay for distilled water on warranty repairs. More than likely though, you will need to provide the test results of your tap water, first. Then call in for a Prior Approval.
