  1. We have that in Ontario, actually in most of Canada for that matter. The enforcement for working on stuff without a ticket is pretty lax, however. They seldom police it. I'd post a picture, but I have my certificate on my toolbox, as REQUIRED BY LAW in Ontario. There is also inter-provincial seals, but it used to mean something. Now, everyone that gets a PASS grade gets a red inter-provincial seal.
  2. Is that the return-type fuel system that uses the plugs on the back of the head as returns and allows full flow through the head?
  3. Pfft. EGR valves on these aren't gonna fail. Ever.
  4. Well, that's not what you had it there for, you get either one or another. Does the Chevy use the BCM to run the lighting, kind of like a GEM on a Ford?
  5. What the hell is a union push? I can think of a few union guys I'd like to push. ...down the stairs....
  6. That's the one I remember seeing tucked in the center console of a GT I had apart.
  7. You can't the body bolts would be so badly rusted, or the frame ears would break off on the 'Yota. Makes cage nuts look like child's play.
  8. I know I don't do it, personally... Typically if I've got a turbo off, the CHRA is fucked anyway, so it gets one of those, and typically a new unison ring, usually the actuator cam has worn the slot in the ring into a + sign.
  9. ROFL Once the crank self-clearances the bearings.
  10. Yah..don't change the oil, lose lifters.
  11. I had the thing for a little ramble, and after the 4th or 5th time of reprogramming the PCM in an attempt to correct the speedo, I leaned on it just a little in 2nd gear, seemed to move along pretty good. Rolled from about 25mph up to about 40mph before I knew it, then I lifted. Wasn't expecting that.
  12. No doubt. Failure rate will be about the same as that on a 6.0/6.4 (I've never personally changed one)
  13. Ours was quiet, till it got ran past 3000RPM Sounds like the 6.4 tapping. In other news: Had a 6.2 making a weird tapping/popping noise today. One of the plug wires had fallen off the lower spark plug. No driveability concerns to note -- but the weird tapping/popping noise is the spark arcing to the head. Turn truck off, install plug wire, all is good. They sure don't snap on very tight.
  14. What DPF delete is on it, out of curiosity? FWIW, I'd maybe call whoever's tune it is and see if it's got the RPM limits raised, just for your own knowledge so you can maybe get an answer as to why this thing decided to shit the bed.
  15. I beg to differ....If it tosses a rod out through the side of the block, it's gonna leak oil on the ground, thus polluting the earth some more But it it grinds slowly to a halt, because the lifters have chewed all the lobes off the camshaft...it might not pollute AS bad....but these things do all leak.
  16. Unless there's an RPM concern you can't see, or won't be told about... It started making some funny noise.. (at 4800rpm...)
  17. Pulling on the harness can make it start from time to time, yeah. Start wiggling it near the fuel filter bowl. You may have to get aggressive with it. It may or may not start.
  18. Dude I was on the phone when I read that and the other party on the phone wants to know what the hell I'm laughing at so much. Maybe him an' me can be roommates.
  19. However, I disagree with the spelling of "fonehtik" I believe the correct spelling is: fonettik.
