  1. That was my main goal. And yes, I'll just keep carring the IDS out with one hand, fucker. I was kinda toying with the idea, like you said... quickie pull codes, oh fuck it's got a P0611...do we have a FICM in stock? But again, without being able to view the pids...it's kind of a catch-22 situation. I wish PDS worked on a diesel properly.
  2. Tricycles... teaching children from an early age that front wheel drive sucks. What's the pricing difference between the NGS PC and a REAL IDS?
  3. Jeez, and to think I was gonna start as A US Diesel Warranty Auditor on the 12th...
  4. I got ya, I didn't realize it worked like that, I thought that it was an overall picture of ALL the repairs. Good to know.
  5. Also, I thought that the 6.4 o-ring issue was primarily on early build trucks...i guess it couldhappen to any truck, but just a lot less common...especially if they want the parts back.
  6. Why did you write up the 6.4 for an oil leak, won't that run the warranty UP instead of down?
  7. I was more concerned with the CAN trucks, 6.0 & 6.4 I don't see a whole lot of 7.3 trucks. Was hoping to find something I can use without having to drag the whole fucking IDS and crap outside, just to check a code.
  8. Will it communicate with a Powerstroke?
  9. Does it get the ass kicked off of it all the time? Run hard all the time, or idle all the time, or what?
  10. Wait...this is an F series, right? You said ambulance...
  11. That was the last heavy job I did. And I'm uncertain as to when the next one is gonna be.
  12. I got it about halfway done. Had the heads and everything on it when I was admitted to the hospital for a week. They had the other heavy line guy finish it up while I was off because the county needed the truck back.
  13. I just did 'em on an F-550, and i had no clearance issues. The socket is 11/16" 12-pt. I at first was using a chrome husky semi-deep, until that cost me all eight knuckles when the fuckin thing broke. I finished up with a shallow 11/16 12-pt craftsman. No real interference issue.
  14. "Fix it like you did the last time and recheck for normal operation" Shakin' my head. I remember your posts on this heap the last time you worked on it.. During the HP fuel pressure test the pressure doesn't go out of spec (too high) or under (too low -- beating the injector to pieces?) I'm just trying to come up with something for ya. Even though its not in the build date -- is the VIN on the FSA list?
  15. They didn't mention that at our school... And pretty clearly from the videos that isn't the case, I'm thinking.
  16. Holy fuck... I hope you used velcro on the cab this last time. Hotline got any insight as to why THIS TRUCK is the hungry-hungry-hippo when it comes to engine assemblies?
  17. I thought the early/late hold down stuff was only 03-04, guess I was wrong. I have had pretty good luck with the parts department on these, getting the right stuff on the first order. Wierd, I know
  18. Also, I don't know what catalog your particular store uses, but if I remember rightly...i THINK the last one I had looked up told me in the part description what dowels the motor had, then came with both sizes anyhow.
  19. 9.4 hours to flush the cooling system like in the 6.0 milkshake tsb... Unreal. 3362 - 6.4L DIESEL COOLING SYSTEM CONTAMINATION FLUSH PROCEDURE SEE TSB 10-07-05 FOR DETAIL 10-07-05
  20. I have had pretty good luck at drilling out the lock pin, too. If you aren't real concerned about the column, screw an adapter into it from the slide hammer, and give 'er a quick yank. Gone in 60. Why do you have only one set of keys for your ride, brotha? Shakin' my head.... (just yankin ya, i fucking cant STAND losing my keys. Kick your body guy in the pouch, too.)
  21. The last 05 I did had 18mm dowels. Last 07 I did had 20mm.
  22. Last... ~5 turbos I have pulled apart have had the unison ring actuator cam hole worn out from the ring being seized to the the CHRA.
