  1. I'd be leery of doing it inframe without having replaceable liners available... Might almost be beneficial to send it out to someone and have it built, not sure how far from a machine shop you are at your present location, but its just a thought.
  2. How many hours? You DID see the warranty action notice, didn't you?
  3. Buddy of mine has one similar to the top photo with a 514 inch crate in it. Gets his tools hauled around town pretty well.
  4. Is it just a regular pick-em-up, or is it a cab/chassis with about 85738 added on pumps, cables, wires, and all that other shit?
  5. In my experience, when these filters are clogged, after driving it for an extended period (I've been to Mike's house, and I would think he lives about 40km from his shop, although I am not exactly sure a hundred percent where his shop is in T.O.) after that much of a drive, I'd expect the fucker would hardly even run, depending on exactly HOW clogged the screens are. The last one I had wouldn't go 6km without going down the shitter for power. I mean, 15mph, MAX, with my foot on the bellhousing.
  6. LOL You didnt get a ticket for blocking the sidewalk?
  7. I mean, if you get one in for a harness failure, no start, and you check it out and it ohms out at say...7.1 cold, well, that's within spec...but what is it at when it's hot? Does it fail hot? I hate the pump replacement procedure on these...if it wasn't so ignorant to replace, it wouldn't be near as much of a problem, yanno?
  8. On that truck, or a couple different ones? I just kinda wish the specs were a little tighter than that, ya know?
  9. 1.5 to 8.0 ohms is a pretty wide spread... What do you want to see? Closer to 1.5? Closer to 8.0? Somewhere in the middle? What about comparison of two units with similar mileage? Do they come up the same? This is confusing. Wait..wait....I got it... I know the answer:
  10. Would it be a reasonable suggestion to maybe get all the shit off of the turbo and junk where the crossover tube goes on, so you could pull it off quick after shutdown to isolate the turbos from each other to see if you can hear which one is making the racket? What's the hotline have to say about all this business?
  11. WHY MUST YOU TURN THIS INTO A HOUSE OF LIES?!
  12. If you could see that fucking rod in the truck to adjust it, we might have a problem. LOL they don't look very fun to fuck with. The intake manifold (the plastic upper one) is REALLY close to the cowl, and even in the shop manual it says something to the effect of "The turbo to cowl is a tight fit, but you CAN get it out" At least until the first time the truck gets in an accident. I fail to understand why they went back to the oil-actuated VGT system that was so problematic on the 6.0 -- there are some small changes, yeah, but I betcha it's gonna be a nightmare, just looking at the fact that it uses the same damn controller.
  13. I have been using the truck build date, and the tag number off the valvecover as the serial number.
  14. It's called coolant restoration additve or some shit, isn't it?
  15. Seems to me there is also a bore repair kit available through Ford now -- there was a TSB regarding this out some time in the summer, I would have some trouble tracking it down at this point.
  16. We got told there could be rough run, or something else that i can't remember offhand, I don't have the book in front of me, or there could be no symptoms at all, because they changed the IQA on a truck in dearborn to prove a point, and failed to do so when it didn't set a code or cause a driveability concern.
  17. I bought my truck in Hay River, so I'm still good till 60k.
  18. Just installed one today, it appears to be some kind of metal. It's not nylon, that's for sure.
  19. http://www.dpfcleaningspecialists.com/ are the guys in Windsor, Ontario.
  20. Not many SLTS times available. They have been up for a couple weeks now.
