  1. What the fuck is with that, I have seen quite a few of those lately. The guy beside me just did one on an Escape. GROWLING like a mother (the dummy idler for the PS pump). Pulled it off, spun it on the bench. Quiet as a friggin mouse. So he put it back together, listened to all of 'em with the stethoscope, and that was the noisy prick.
  2. I like Fox because the Simpsons are on Fox.
  3. At this point, yeah. Paying for something NOW to alleviate constant excruciating pain, or waiting for months, maybe years to get it for free. I'd rather pay or take my chances with the insurance and retain my quality of life, then spend day in and day out wondering if I'm gonna be able to get up from the next chair I sit down in.
  4. Yeah I'd trade up, cause I'd pay for insurance to eat this sort of stuff for me.
  5. Joshbuys' sig on here, I think it was his: "It was broken and I fixed it, what more do you need to know?"
  6. There's an aftermarket one available made with a stainless steel screen, I can't recall where I saw it though.
  7. I think you'll have a hard time getting the studs in the rear of the left side, but it can probably be done. I have a similar situation here right now.
  8. So...I looked into this place in Ohio... All I need is $20k cash and they can fix me up pretty fuckin' quick. Also, it's minimally invasive, you're up and walking within hours after the procedure. I guess you get what you pay for. OHIP = Free, wait forever. US = Pay, get fixed RFN.
  9. LMAO!! Well put!! If only Mr. HPOP could have been on the terlit when the Fedex man was there, and they just left the tag on the door!
  10. ^^^ One of my favorites. Had a guy smash the lightbulb once, though. "RIGHT NOW." "Ooo...kaay....back away slowly...."
  11. Wasn't there some problems with reman engines and water pump impellers, overheating, engine failures, and the like? I think Mike Chan had one of these, where the impeller fell off the water pump. And I agree with the high engine temps being the fan issue, I think I have seen the fan clutch come on between 214-218 degrees EOT. We're right around 0C/32F here, and driving a truck with 4.30 gears in MLP range '3' at 3200rpm for about 5 minutes only got me ~196 ECT and ~210-213 EOT, I didn't even hear the fan come on.
  12. How bout moon rocks, you got a collection goin?
  13. Early chevy 4 bangers small blocks and big blocks shared the same bellhousing pattern. The 90 degree V6's (4.3(fuel hog), 3.3(garbage), 3.8(garbage) Chevy) share the same bolt pattern also. Buick/Olds/Pontiac have a different pattern all of their own. So, you can put a 200C metric from a 3.3 V6 from an early 80's car, behind a 572/720R crate motor. It won't live very friggin' long, but it'll bolt together.
  14. Same thing, about the 56h or 6th grade. Right on the test. 1. Read all test questions before starting the test. ... 51. Now that you have finished reading the test questions, answer only 1, 3, and 7.
  15. When all else fails, read the instructions. I remember awhile back now buying a Holley Carburetor, and in the box, on the front of the instructions it said something to the effect of: "At least the first time, try it our way, please follow the instructions."
  16. Funny you should mention that, when I was moving back from the NWT, I stopped in to see Mr. Warman and he had some stats out of a truck that had failed, just like that.
  17. I usually power wash any 6.0 I work on before I work on it, since most of the trucks I have been working on of late have been farm/county highway maintenance trucks, and absolutely filthy under the hood. So I drive it over to cleanup, shampoo the piss out of it, drink a coffee while it soaks, power wash it, then bring it back to the shop and let it sit inside overnight and dry out. After working on it, it gets power washed again. I think the cleanup guy is going to start charging me to use his power washer soon
  18. This Stroker McGurk, Jim? Those cartoons were awesome.
  19. What was the symptoms, Josh and Greg? Or were these discovered during radiator/stat replacement as per TSB (updated last week dont remember the number so they could eliminate .4 for the road test )
  20. I don't think I've EVER seen the screen without at least one or two windows punched out of it, every one gets replaced.
  21. Done that too, Dave. I find the welder works a little nicer since all my vise-grips are all worn the hell out -- but if a welder isn't available, yeah you can heat the loctite right up and twist 'em out.
