  1. Have you checked your map sensor for plugging? It may sound like a long shot, but may be worth looking at.
  2. I'm thinking that with the amount of stuff I've been doing at home that I should invest in a diesel compression gauge. Anyone have any experience with anything other than the Ford one? And are all of the quick connect fittings the same or do the different brands use their own?
  3. I got a 2012 6.7 with an oil leak from the vacuum pump.
  4. I got my cousin's Acer sitting on the bench right now. She managed to give some hackers access to her hard drive over the internet. So it's getting wiped clean and it's gonna start over fresh. Every time I wipe out a computer I take the hard drive out and plug it into my desktop and make a copy of the entire hard drive for document retrieval. Normally pulling a hard drive is child's play and takes a whole minute or two. But Acer decided that they could bury the hard drive deep inside and that no one would care.
  5. It's a recall. It gets a new one no matter what. Or at least that's what would happen in my shop.
  6. Or contact your local FSE. That is if he's worth a pinch of shit.
  7. I'm not gonna say they are useless. I have gotten enough good info from them over the years.
  8. Shipping to Canada really ain't that bad.
  9. I got shipped from Wisconsin to Denver to get my diesel repair class. The shop I'm at now wouldn't dream of sending us to a different training center.
  10. They've sent me back stuff to check that I told them in my request that I've done already. My response back is usually in caps and starts with the phrase "As previously stated..."
  11. Cleaned up everything I had sitting around. Just got some used crap to work on. But i did get to play with the new fluid evacuator the shop bought. It works so slick that the service manager is talking about getting another one to use just for coolant and throw away them damn suction guns that never work right.
  12. Crap. We ordered another one today. That oughta go over like a fart in church.
  13. Hmm. Now that i stop and think about it that sensor bottoms out at 140 degrees doesn't it?
  14. Replaced the up-pipe exhaust temp sensor in an 08 F-350 today. Had an intermittent open while driving. Got all done, grabbed the scanner and noticed that it was reading 140* after sitting on the hoist for the last 5 hours. I believe I have a brand new sensor with an open circuit. Voltage read 4.65 volts. Took the old sensor pigtail and twisted the wires together plugged it in and it reads zero volts. And then there's the 03 F-250 that I tore the rear end apart a week ago and then started doing ball joints while I was waiting for the rear end parts that I haven't touched in the last 3 days I was there. Oh and I found out that the 13 F-350 that I did that tsb that has you replace the pigtail for egt codes has the check engine light back on.
  15. I believe so. I got software that allows me to copy just about anything. On that note... Does anyone happen to have a set of the last WDS discs laying around? I got a WDS with a messed up hard drive and my system disc is damaged.
  16. Only dually wheels? I've been doing it to almost every wheel that gets really stuck.
  17. I had a 11 or 12 with a v-10 that was under warranty with a broken stud before I got the welder thing figured out and I ended up putting a helicoil in cause there was no other way. I've gotten some out with the welder that I couldn't budge with an extractor.
  18. It's sickening the amount of scary stuff that you see come in that "professional" techs are doing and calling good.
  19. That sucks. All you can do is keep doing what you're supposed to and if he can't hold his own he'll get taken care of.
  20. Once you add your other dye pull the dipstick and hit it with the black light and make sure the dye reacts with the black light.
