  1. This is probably old news and you Diesel Gods probably know this by now, but I wanted to post it anyway. The copper washers that go on the HP pump for the supply and return lines have been replaced with the washers just like where the fuel lines attach to the fuel cooler. Black washers with a rubber inside. I found this out after spending fifteen minutes in parts and then calling hotline. Because the different style washer, the torque spec has also changed. It is 18 lb/ft versus 28ft/lb.
  2. Mine will be done tomorrow. I put a pump in it, but was NEVER able to duplicate the problem. I was completely honest about that on the prior aproval form. I thought it might be difficult to get authorization because of that, but they gave it to me right away.
  3. It's a stake bed and a total work horse with almost 100,000 miles on it. I think the truck runs 8-10hrs a day.
  4. Haha Those things look better suited for stoned hippies than plumbers and HVAC guys.
  5. The Econoline basically paid for my wedding 10 years ago. I'm a little sad.
  6. That was just for this specific truck, but I looked at my notes and there is another one I battled for a P0087, and those solenoids were 3.5-4.0hms. This was a while ago, and at that time the hotline engineer I was dealing with told me that it should be under 10ohms, so I guess that is a little improvement. The hotline engineer I’m dealing with on this current truck told me to put a HP pump in it, and before that my manager told me to do the same thing. I really don't mind replacing pumps on these engines, what I don't care for is situations like this where I can NEVER get the problem to act up, but I kind of need to do SOMETHING. At least it's Friday.
  7. I have checked it several times in the past few days and there are within 3.1-4.2 ohms.
  8. I'm battling one with the exact problem right now. The hotline engineer I'm dealing with thinks I have a PCV or VCV that intermitently sticks or has high resistance. We have NEVER actually been able to duplicate it. BTW, the PCV, VCV resistance spec is 1.5-8.0 ohms.
  9. It's just a matter of time until someone replaces the wrong injector.
  10. Reminds me of when I was in the auto trans phase at Wyoming Tech. The first day the instructor told us that if we don't lose any blood, then we don't pass. Guess what? We all lost blood to sharp edges in transmissions.
  11. Probably have to replace the whole aftertreatment system to get that part.
  12. You're the man Shlep!!! In class today our instructor had a pdf, but didn't want anyone to copy it.
  13. 'They' didn't change the cylinder numbers. This is Ford's engine and has cylinders numbered in the typical Ford fashion. The 6.9,7.3, 6.0, 6.4 were all International, and that is how International numbers it's cylinders.
  14. I was told the same thing in class today. Has anyone tried searching the web to download it?
  15. Do you want me to wear it to school? If so, I'm going to need to know the DTS gang sign.
  16. I'm going this week, Wednesday through Friday.
  17. What is your DPF pressure pid while idling and while driving moderately? Also what are your EGT 11 and EGT12 readings?
  18. That's what I was thinking when I was taking the second one apart yesterday. What I did was removed the top bellhousing bolts, and then I tilted the back of the trans as high as it would go. Then I modified a 2X4 and wedged it beetween the oil pan and the frame. The down-pipe came right out. No problems at all.
  19. The first two I had, it seemed like the turbo down-pipe just fell out. The last two I have done I had to really fight to remove and then install the down-pipe. The one I did this morning, I left the down-pipe in the vehicle and moved it around while I replaced the up-pipe. It was still a bitch. Does anyone have any tricks for removing the down-pipe and up-pipe on these things? I do remove the nut for the battery cable on the starter and I think that helps a little. I do know one tech that removes the body when doing this job. Guess what my next job is? Yep, it's another right side up-pipe. I shouldn't be complaining though, I do make good time on them.
  20. READ MY SIGNATURE!!!! Seriously, I will be married ten years this November. Being married isn't easy, being happily married, and making sure my kids live in a pleasant environment is probably the toughest thing I have ever done in my life. There are a lot of people we know that think that me and my wife have a perfect marriage but I assure you, NOTHING in life is perfect. Larry if you decide that you’re going to marry this woman, then I wish you the best of luck.
  21. That's a good one. I'll have to use it.
  22. Dave, Weren't you the first one here to have one 'go bad'?
  23. He deserves to put them on backwards.
  24. I've never had it happen to me, but last week I did have an Econoline where the customer replaced the oil and EGR coolers. The IPR was stuck, the screen was completley plugged and had a cut in it. From what I could see it looked like small gravel in the IPR valve. EVERY oil cooler I replace gets a new screen, oil drained. I also clean the area beteeen the oil cooler and the block really good before removing it. I also clean the new coolers with brake clean and blow them out, only because I heard Ford was having peoblems with debris in new coolers.
