Looky what I found....I don't seem to be able to get the details on this. http://detroit.bbb.org/WWWRoot/Report.aspx?site=80&bbb=0332&firm=90004948#cmpl Anyone think it came from the 12K repair. AS QUOTED BY POGO... Quote: Scrap the attitude and I can turn you on to a group of guys that will open your eyes and help you to improve yourself... "help you to improve yourself".... Now... you will have to help me reconcile the fact that you knew that the PSD is a Navistar engine and you felt that I was unaware of this..... me and my factory manuals were unaware of this..... like I could open a factory manual and it would say "Ford doesn't make a PSD... Navistar does.... go away and don't bother us...". Ralph was a wiener... but he was never THAT big of a wiener.... PRICELESS -
It's been ball-busting busy here. Machine shop is backed up, rebuild room is loaded and fuel shop is always busy(thanks to ULSD and water). As for shops around here no one is really busy but combined it makes us really busy.

Just read this and checked out the "Repairpal.com" website. This looks like something Rex would have started. http://repairpal.com/ I ran a couple of different year trucks a 02 and a 07 for injector replacement and both came up with the same price. -

Dwayne everything you have said makes sense. The only question I have is...When you do one of these jobs, do you make time on it and are you happy to be doing it? To me it sounds like a shit job, but the way you describe it sounds fair for all parties involved. It sounds like you have the S/A's on board with the repairs which is half the battle.

02 f250 w/ broken valve cover bolts
LARRY BRUDZYNSKI replied to nunan's topic in 7.3L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
I don't know if you have grease that fell down towards the pushrod/lifter area or not. If it did and had metal in it the grease wouldn't break down until it gets hot. I would think temp. wise you would have to have it pretty close to operating temp. for it to move to the pan. If it were me in this situation I would try it before taking the chance, and change the oil before running. Maybe even changing the oil after a short time of running also. -

Aaron, You may try some 8A421 heavy truck(From maybe a LTL9000) Rad./CAC insulators from the parts dept. on the feet. They are made of rubber and are pretty tough. I don't think it will slip anymore for you. -

LARRY BRUDZYNSKI replied to nunan's topic in 7.3L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
Being the fact you used grease up there,(BE CAREFUL) you could heat up some oil and flush your area really well. The heated oil may break down the grease enough to let the shavings wash down to the pan and drain them out. Maybe do this a couple of times to be sure. In this case it's a crap shoot, just hope you get them washed down and cleaned up, or you may be looking at HPOP work as well. -

Yep Rex's shop, he's been a real pain in the ass for almost 25 years. This goes back into the mid 80's when I was at NAPA and then got over to Sunshine Honda/Acura. He tried working on everything. Never turned anything away even if he was way over his head. Which by the looks of it still is. When I was at Cummins we heard from him and when I was at Motor City Ford the same, always fishing for info never buying to much. Have to say though haven't had the "pleasure" of dealing with him at Superior yet. He has a habit of changing locations every couple of years, and seems to change business names as well. He's like the giant cockroach that won't die. Maybe I'm to far in the city for him to bother me here. It's kinda like the Midas/Brake shop guys that screw shit up and need us to bail them out without them wanting to pay to fix it correctly. If his shop is still on Ronda Drive I'll find out tomorrow being the fact I'm going over my parents house. I'll let you all know, I think he's probably moved again since that was from 01. -
