Flushing Oil Coolers?
LARRY BRUDZYNSKI replied to Coolcat390's topic in 6.0L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
Sounds like a test is coming down the pipe, and see if it would work. What would you use??? Is the cooler plugged by coolant contaminents or oil/sludge??? On or off of the vehicle??? -
6.4 upgrades
LARRY BRUDZYNSKI replied to LARRY BRUDZYNSKI's topic in Upgrade and Aftermarket Equipment
So, If I'm reading this right this is a 2 step catalyst system, and will regen later when it gets loaded up and regen when needed, and not computer ordered when the sensors say to, and not have to inject raw fuel into the catalyst??? -

NO START AFTER FUEL LINE REPLACEMENT
LARRY BRUDZYNSKI replied to kellyf's topic in 7.3L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
Quote: "Input... need more input...." Johnny Five. Jim laughed my ass(arse) off on that one. Don't you guys have any newer movies up in Slave Lake??? As for the switch valve anything is possible......Rocks,tires, anything tossed up from underneath could mess up a bunch of stuff. I would give the truck a good look from underneath to see if that happened. You had a bad fuel line, could that be what happened??? -
6.0L head jobs being done half fast

Advise...Stay on the other side of the shop, you may hurt somebody.... -
Okay, I might have jumped the gun, but it seems that this happens to many times. Guy buys truck hates dealer(Stealer), tries to fix himself or independent has no clue and has it towed in, in a basket. We have to figure out the jigsaw puzzle and still give the guy what he wants. Don't get me wrong I think it's great that he was honest with Keith, about what had happened...But still he should have to pay for most of it. Knowledge of these vehicles is what we are here for, the customers that do come in regularly know this, the ones that don't are the ones mis-informed. I think sitting him down and explaining what the options are(As Jim stated) worst case scenario to the best. Worst Ford(mother) says no to all counts, best Ford(mother) goes half with the customer. Either way the customer would see that we went to bat for them and maybe see that we aren't what the public sees us as. Keith good topic!!! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif Keep us up to date on this one....

550 limo/bus??? You have a list of names of the youngins that ride it daily. Must be private schools limo/bus they are the only ones that can afford it. (On edit correction) I see the yellow in the third pic, this one is definitly a public school bus. As for the hose Dayco makes a push fit hose along with connectors that would work awesome and is a double braided, hydraulic style hose that wouldn't break down like that, I'll get the part # tomorrow, we stock it and works great. It works with gas, diesel and any hydraulic fluid out there. -
Uh-oh, you just opened up the rotten can of worms.... Watch out here comes Jim... /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/flamethrower.gif

NO START AFTER FUEL LINE REPLACEMENT

Which line??? If air got in the lines, you probably have to crank the shit out of it to clear the lines of air. -

6.4 upgrades
LARRY BRUDZYNSKI replied to LARRY BRUDZYNSKI's topic in Upgrade and Aftermarket Equipment
It would be nice to know who you are other than "A Tech" as in your profile. But thats up to you, ( You could send a pm and intro yourself to a few ). As for Ford using the A/M and looking into the programming, I think they do, at least the Warr. Nazi's that kill claims all the time. Lets face it Ford wants info from the other side also. As some will call it the "DARK SIDE". Info is power to some.... Who knows maybe I talked to you Cetane about the upgrade parts???? -
Quote: usually I'm a lot more of a hard ass Hard ass??? The customer fucked the truck up and expects Ford (Mother) to fix it???? He owes to pay up for the repair!!!! If he had Six-Gun you would make him pay wouldn't you???

Quote: Read my lips.... "I am NOT a service manager". I am a "dink"... I have reached my goal in life and I refuse to change.... Ahhh, I think I understand the Canubial your speaking... Back In the day I was offered a Parts Mongers job, stupid me /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banghead.gif. I accepted it and made decent money, but wasn't happy, I pretty much lived there(Sorry Jim we know that you still do), had no my time. The worst thing about it was my mandatory labotomy and become a yes boy to the G/M and the D/P. I have to be able to think for myself, had a great crew but had no lust for the job, did it well, but wasn't happy. Did it for about a year, gave it up and had the labotomy reversed, have been offered the same position numerous times but have laughed and refused graciously. I would rather be a "DINK" as you call it, I get more done and am more valuable to the company doing my job. -
Aaron, don't hold back....Let us know how you really feel.... If I was in your place and had found out about this, I would have had your Mum take it back and go straight to the D/P on this one. It's a inexcusable situation, if something had happened and your Mum lost control and killed herself or somebody else the Dealer would be liable for the accident. The S/M was wrong for not thinking of this as a big deal other than THEY FORGOT, Did I miss something here....Aren't we supposed to be licensed and responsible for the customers safety and well-being when the vehicle leaves us?????? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banghead.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banghead.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banghead.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banghead.gif

6.0L head jobs being done half fast
LARRY BRUDZYNSKI replied to DwayneGorniak's topic in 6.0L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
Quote: for the extra ten or fifteen minutes that it would take to get the turbo and Intake off BRAVO /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/notworthy.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/notworthy.gif A little extra time and patience to do the job once, You're already there do it and keep the job moving, or hold up the intake have it slip and cut a finger off and pull a workmans comp. claim, be out of work for the little that it pays and have a fucked up finger for life. -
The Customer should pay for the repair, he obviously damaged the threads and is responsible for the lack of knowledge or experience to do the repair correctly. I'm sorry he broke down on the road, but should have had it towed in. We wouldn't be having this discussion right now if he did. As for the sensor, where did he get the black one with the gold clamp? They aren't supposed to be available anymore. The gray ones are supposed to replace all of them.

please help! white smoke, random misfire
LARRY BRUDZYNSKI replied to TimB's topic in 6.0L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
I think Stephen has the right call, put everything back the way it was and follow EVERY step in the tree, no matter how simple it seems, this sounds like something small is messing up the truck. You have hit it with all of the big hitters and is not making a difference, start at the beginning and work forward. -
Good point!!!! Forgot about that, there is your .8 ish plus mount.

6.4 Lacks Power, P2263
LARRY BRUDZYNSKI replied to ChristopherH's topic in 6.4L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
Haven't seen this yet, but I'm sure Bruce would be interested in this one, you may want to send him a P/M on this. I would be interested in seeing the WSM on the turbo bearing clearances. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/scratchhead.gif Do you just test the side to side or are able to test the rotation clearances as well?
