  1. One question for all of us guys??? Don't we have shop Foreskins/Service advisors checking them over and test driving before it's approved as a fixed vehicle??? Would it not be their job to point out the prints or smudges to the porters before its put in line for pickup???Body shops deal with this B/S daily maybe they need some lessons!!! Let's see Jim if you had to take one of your toys in...Would you not expect it to be gone thru by at least a couple of people before you were called. These people we deal with everyday drive these vehicles and know exactly how they went in, don't you think they should go out at least the same way, or better yet cleaner than we recieved them? Would do wonders for the warranty surveys that the customers get. A few minutes to tidy up go miles.... Quote: I wasnt angry or whiney about it. Just told him what I found. He sounded a little upset, said he was sorry that it happened and that he would make it up to me next time around. DieselDoc I would make a point of bringing it back very soon...I would not have been so nice /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gifActually pretty pissed off. But I am glad you dealt with this politically correct. It makes life at the dealer a little easier, but don't let them forget it. Quote: Don't get me wrong... there's some really good ones... Look around us here on DTS... But out there.... in the wild.... Jim's right, on this point, maybe you need to suggest hiring some of the members at this dealer...
  2. Confusion??? What the F..., I'm just a parts guy, how about talking in english??? I would really like to know what you are talking about in laymens terms.
  3. Quote: might be time to move my wagons north.. Don't do it, Jim will see you coming and have you for lunch!!! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif
  4. Kelly suck it up and just do the cab removal however you have to, whether removing all the B/S or not it will make your life easier in repairing this the correct way. Take your time and document everything, time wise. It may help in the end especially if you have to go back to the customer, for the add on's. Most will pay if they know that you are helping them out, and are caring about their repair's. Most customers that have these bodies on the trucks know what it takes to do the repair. The customers aren't stupid. they are well informed and want to get what they can get for free, but they do know what it takes.
  5. As Jim might say I hope..."Fuel(check it),Fire(check it),Fart(check it)..." any difference there is a problem. 3 F's...JIM????
  6. Quote: I thought I was wrong once.... but I was mistaken.... Wrong??? Mistaken??? Or just confident to B/S your way out??? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/notworthy.gif
  7. Quote: Combustion gas passing through pintle? Sounds more like Jim having another one of those days!!! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif
  8. Give me the "Good old days" when we had tank transfer switches on the dash, when one gets low switch over and on our way we go. Better yet why not put a crossover tube and draw fuel from both at the same time, like they used to do. No make it more difficult when there are electrical contact problems.
  9. Well, if divorce is not in the picture, just let me know what I can do to help.
  10. Some of the parts are still avail, but a bitch to get and pretty pricey. If it needs a dash harness forget it, obsolete, salvage yard time. If you can broom this one do it, you will end up married to it.
  11. Yeah like the US would allow a Mazda engineered vehicle become the next Mustang???? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/boink3.gif Ford had the 2.3 and the 2.3 SVO which was pretty decently powered, as for Chevy they had the old Iron Duke 2.5 which SUCKED from day one. It lasted from 1982-1985. Wonder why???? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/drinkingdude.gif
  12. Exactly, I have surfed and haven't found anything else with this system.
  13. I don't know about the Challenger, but Ford and Chevy have been down the road already with the 4 bangers, could be a cool option, if they pump them up enough. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/flamethrower.gif
  14. Quote: Keepppthfff.... I'm not sure we wanna see your "rusty hole".... Lookie lookie Jim made a funny /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/hahaha.gif
  15. Oh nice... Some more shit to have to worry about...Like we need more... /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/mad.gif Better question, WTF causes the rust????
  16. Yeah I was the first to be the T/T/E and now I'm the Diesel Fitter whatever the hell that is...Although I think I figured it out, seems to be every 100 posts you make you get to be somebody else. Jim leave it alone...as well a couple of you other guy's.
  17. Quote: Perhaps when they changed over to the 6.0 in the E-series they took the opportunity to redesign the A/C box and eliminate any need for that control valve. Oh well, either way, it wouldn't fit without running about an extra foot or so of heater hose right next to the alternator. Not fun. Sounds to me like Ford had to figure out another way after installing the larger 6.0 in the E-series, and ending up with less room.
  18. I believe that Ford changed the design of the heater/ac box, and seperated the condensor from the evaporator with the mode motor actuated doors inside the box. You may want to check the 19E616 mode motor for problems.
  19. As I understand it, that the Military is the only ones using this system so far. http://www.roadranger.com/Roadranger/pro...ctis)/index.htm

  21. Sorry about being a little short, I was having one of those "JIM" days yesterday. Glad to help!!! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbup.gif
  22. Quote: I bet it wouldn't start in a "real" climate. I think Bruce may be refering to "Slave Lake, Alberta"
  23. Yeah but I'm in 24-7 as you can tell....He was really concerned yesterday but today???? His Profile shows him working for Ford??? Does he have better contacts than us???? And if he does why did he ask us???? Why waste my time??? I would rather help where it's appreciated!!!
  24. The doors knocking, why not if you can make a few bucks, but share with us too. If there are stupid people out there and willing to pay why not?? On edit piss on that Keith keep it to ourselves, I would be happier with that choice. Don't sell yourself cheap and give the Joshs from Banks in the world the answers to the problems we have worked so hard to come by.
