I remember those Jim we used to call those Elephant Tampons. Used to use them in the old Cummins 855's. They went horizontal behind the lube pumps. -
EGR Valves

We do here, but if you have a good fuel injection shop you deal with you should be able to get it locally. -
Good points all around. I think the media is the all mighty killer to the manufacturers. The amount of press given is unreal.

Keith, You have to many women in your house????? -
Guy's if needed send me the injectors and we will run them, or try to run them on our test stand. I will include all of the paperwork for you. It will only cost you shipping which I'm sure would be covered if documented the correct way. I have already checked and all you guys on the DTS have Cart-Blanche with us. Just remember us.....

Ok guy's, The ultimate question????? How long did it take Ford to admit the faulty wiring on millions & millions of vehicles before coming up with a fix? My answer.... Ford and the big 3 fed off of this but.....Toyota got off their ass and came up with a fix pretty dam quick. How long did it take Ford? 6.0 6.4 How long and who will they blame? Can't blame IH anymore..... Injectors, head gaskets and egr's,egr coolers???? WHO IS IN AND WHO IS OUT OF TOUCH????? Nothing against Ford but come on....Why can't Ford fix this shit we talk about everyday?????? Why is it the God-D#$ Japs can come up with a fix inside of 2 weeks and we have DPF's on backorder. When will Ford be Pro-active with their dealers? Why is it a great big pissing match between techs and cold-line to get approval to fix a truck. A truck by the way is Fords major profit center????????

Is there still a big problem with bad EGR valves off the shelf? I ask because Delphi recently released them to the A/M and I have been seeing good results so far.

Not a Tech, but here I go. It looks like silicone or maybe a petroleum jelly substance. The way it's wrapped around the spring on the right almost looks like a cotton type material. How it got there...

It's looks like goo. Nice touch having the DTS on your screen at the same time. -
I didn't post on this thread but thanks anyways.......Bruce posted a TON of shit about it and I almost fell asleep reading thru it. My take on tapered bearings was old school, snug down and back off a 1/4 turn. Always worked pretty well for me. I know not the way by the book but fairly close.

Keith the bolt is on the way.

Keith, You may be in trouble. the only way Ford is listing them is in the Head Set. I might have a 6.0 core back in the warehouse. I'll go back and take a look, I may be able to steal one out of it for you.......

Almost shed a tear.... Are you sure this guy didn't get his info from Rex....

Finally bought a laptop
LARRY BRUDZYNSKI replied to LARRY BRUDZYNSKI's topic in Tools, Computers and the Internet
Keith, thanks it does feel pretty good but scary too. I made 4 trips to Bestbuy before I finally decided to buy it. I'm still a old school guy and am still feeling lost without my mouse. I almost bought a desktop again. We'll see how it works out. There is a desktop for around the same price. Maybe I'll end up with 2..... Bruce, you are correct I won't be loading any of the software on my laptop. As you have figured out, my service dept is pretty cheap. But still want to work on the 7.3,6.0, and I get a large chill down my spine when I think of a 6.4 coming in the door. I really enjoy being here and helping out when I can. It's just embarrassing when my own shop won't buy the required and desperately needed tools to work on these and the others....... Bruce, I have looked around and check on the new Windows 7. So far it works like XP but better, looks a little different but good. Not the POS Vista program that's for sure. -
Finally bought a laptop

Was looking at the Macs but couldn't bring myself to buy one. Just the bad rap from long ago that still sticks in my head. -
Had enough with the OLD desktop. Went out to Bestbuy and bought a HP Pavilion DV6-1375DX. So far pretty happy with it but it's only been a couple of hours. What do you guys think about this laptop?

CAT 3406 crank no start
LARRY BRUDZYNSKI replied to snw blue by you's topic in General Diesel Engines
I was waiting for Dirk to jump in on the Cat problems. The other issue I have is the grounds for the engine and the Truck. To much shit has been played with on this truck by the way you are stating it. Backup take a breath and start again.... -
Bruce......This thread was meant to be about stupid shit we do. You to Jim and Keith...... 2 weeks ago.....taking out the trash to the curb, I myself had a "Bonehead" move. Walking the can out to the curb I accidently hit the sidewalk and did a header towards the can, almost put my frickin head right in it, but instead smacked it on the side of it. Needless to say the can launched across the front yard pretty dam quick that morning. But I'm better now. STUPID SHIT WE DO

2010 Taurus, Flex 2010 MKS, MKT Had no other lines mentioned, but I'm sure more will follow........ On edit the pic of the turbo failure was probably not due to overspeed but due to lack of air supply. I get them all the time from guys with tuners turned up all the way and not having ample supply of intake and exhaust flow.....

CAT 3406 crank no start
LARRY BRUDZYNSKI replied to snw blue by you's topic in General Diesel Engines
Any chance of re-reading thru the other techs notes on this job. What was removed or messed with before this problem happened? What was the original concern/complaint? Help us to help you...... -

Smoke or no smoke out the exhaust? Ran across one before with a missing/chipped tooth on the tone ring. Being the fact that you had a cam issue, I would suggest checking it.
