  1. Damn, I haven't tore down a 6.4 in about 3 years.
  2. I always strive for a solid 12 hours.
  3. I was thinking the same thing, quite a slice of sheer eloquent awesomeness. Bill Shakespeare would be proud.
  4. We got a few guys at work that have lots of bonus bolts in their toolboxes!
  5. The old straight piped 7.3's had the same issue. So an air intake heater was added. When a cat was added to the exhaust system the heater wasn't needed as much to mask (control) white smoke on cold starts.
  6. Looks like that tow truck driver is in a lot of trouble, he wrecked the shit out of that thing trying to get in on to the rollback!
  7. Vehicle had an electric heated PCV valve that caught all the crap. I replaced the PCV along with putting 3 or 4 cans of brake clean through the intake.
  8. That's a bit of an ouchy, stings the wallet a bit in a bad way.
  9. Vehicle came in with a runs rough kinda deal. The customer had performed a tune up but couldn't get the number 4 plug out. He threw in the towel and brought it to us to finish the "tune up". This is a SOHC engine and I wasn't aware of any problems with getting to the number 4 plug, so I was weary to so the least. I barely made it around the building with it and it was running horribly and chugging some serious smoke out the back. It finally stalled and had to be pushed into my bay. IDS reported this: And then And then At this point I tried a manual compression test but the spark plug pulled some threads out of the head. The customer approved head removal and..................... It seems someone had "repaired" the spark plug hole with a helicoil kit and pushed the helicoil into the cylinder and, well, it got a FQR longblock.
  10. To answer your question though, I sleep like a rock........in between bathroom breaks that is. And I also leave work at work. One thing I have found that works for me is to try and concentrate on doing a job. Instead of letting my mind wander and bounce around all over the place, I get the jump on it and try to remember the individual steps to completing a task of some sort. Next thing I know the alarm is going off and its time to get up. Works every time and has never let me down.
  11. Wouldn't expect anything less from a........trained monkey. (none of this stuff will make any sense when you finally change your avatar)
  12. I miss the days when I could sleep all through the night without a bathroom break.
  13. Looks like we may head North for the holidays, dunno yet.
  14. The cover is updated, might as well just chuck that one in the garbage............along with the rest of the engine!
  15. Cause pimpin ain't easy when your bitches are on the stroll in front of the Family Dollar.
  16. Had one doing the same thing and after I did a manual regen, I cleared the DPF tables and all was good.
