  1. I call that my post approval and do it quite often if Im on a roll!
  2. I made my own jumper from an old harness. pretty simple actually.
  3. I still get lots of warranty on these. We sold ALOT of the diesel care ESP too
  4. I had a diehard chevy guy send this to me. http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2010/11/chevy-vs-ford-in-heavy-duty-rumble-in-the-rockies.html
  5. They have always been a requirement for us too. If they are not on the hardcopy along with other supporting docs we dont get paid. Part of that is our awesome(enter heavy sarcasim!) warranty team too Im sure
  6. as if the snapon guy didnt already have you by the balls you back into his truck and now your screwed for life!
  7. I thought I would never say this but I would probably choose a Eseries ambo to work on over a base engine issue 6.4. Being a mostly fleet shop I see the worse of the worse when it comes to maintance. They just dont get what oil changes mean. When stuff goes bad it goes bad fast! Hey we all saw the base engine problems coming when we went to a common rail fuel system. There is no failsafe so to speak now if its out of oil, not like the 6.4 has that problem though!! I will try and record one next time I get one in the shop. Ive had trucks that run fine but have the tell tale lifter/rocker knock at idle. We start taking bets when we will see that back on the hook!
  8. Im hearing 12/14/10 before they come off backorder then another few days before I get one. Our local rep was out here the other day for another truck and he had not heard of any pump failures or the backorder issues.
  9. I replace the whole valvetrain on almost everything that has a rocker arm failure. Or at the very least that particular bank. Most of the ones I get that break work just like keiths picture. pushtubes, bridges, pivots etc are all worn. Better yet is when the lifter blows up.....oh how I love you 6.4!
  10. snapon is cheaper if you beleive that or not. $51.20 according to my reciept http://image.snapon.com/international/pdf/s6190_npa.pdf
  11. The IPR socket is 50bucks the 6.4 turbo socket is like 25
  12. yeah I bought that thing the second I saw it. Only 50bucks vs the 150 OTC wants for the ford one. Just used it the other day with good success
  13. This is the ticket..Thanks for the tip!!! words of caution. pop the trans to cooler lines off the frame, just the little clippy deal. no need to remove them. I also loosed the radiator clamps to avoid tension on the upper hose. other then that all went well
  14. Im doing one today as well. These used to have body off procedures in the WSM and now they say to pull the trans for a total of 6.3 hours so if this is easier then that Im stoked to try it. of course this is a crewcab work body 4wd heavy turd too heavy to rack. working on my back blows
  15. Ive gone two years in a row now but Ive only been able to stay for one day which is never enough. Sad part is I cant get tickets through my dealer. Ive gotta go outside of that to a few companys I know to get them. If you ever have the chance its worth it
  16. Anyone else seeing the primary pump leak? We have had two in the past week or so. One has about 4-5k on it and the other has 8k. Seems they are endless backorder too which is not making some of our fleet customers very happy.
  17. I treat them the same.... with that said Ive maybe done 2 in the course of 5 years.

I love ARIZONA!....whats this rust stuff you talk about?
  19. I was at SEMA this year as there was several manufactures claiming tunes for the 6.7 I listened in quitely biting my tounge and cringing at the line of bs they where spewing to sell their product
  20. This might come in handy as a one grab tool to do the job vs grabbing the right extention, socket etc. I have been going the cab on turbo off for alot of repairs lately. Well as long as the truck runs so I can get the pipes warm and spray WD40 on them otherwise they are almost impossible to get the bolts loose without rounding them off
  21. I laugh everytime I see a gm truck commercial. Ford owns the market when it comes to marketing the new trucks! I have a good friends dad that is looking for a truck. He is die hard GM. Well being a fair man he was looking at both trucks. Walked into a GM dealer and was handed a small booklet of info and the sales guy attempted to sell him anything but a 1 ton truck. Walked into the ford dealer and was handed a huge book of info and left alone. The info brochure itself has pretty much sealed the deal for him and a ford.

There is noticable improvement with this update.
  23. holy crap thats got to be waaaaaay more work then yanking the engine out. I have not seen a cup leak on a 6.0 yet but Ive done countless heads for fuel leaks. they crack in the injector bore
