  1. got one in the other day. no injectors in stock. had to order. parts had to call it in and order per vin. they verfyed how many we needed and said you will see them when they become avaiable. 3days later no injectors.
  2. been pretty dead the last 2 weeks here. Jan and first part of Feb was awesome. Now we are in a run and only a handful of vehicles coming in. I sit around til noon almost everyday before getting something to work on. at least we have a place to go to work with a chance of making some money. some people dont even have that right now. speaking of shit jobs I ended up cutting ebrake cable mounting off wrecked ambos we have here for a new stock unit the body builder screwed up and cut the bracket off. nothing like fabrication to start your day
  3. just read this on fmcdealer. so premature o-ring failure?? why not just replace the o-rings? who can say injector problems someone does not want to admit too?? seems we will be replacing anything from just 1 to all 8. should not be a tone of vehicles affected tho, that vin list is pretty short seems the time paid is not "too" bad. I feel it could be better however
  4. they are still sending out compelte engines? Im suprised there is not a reman long block version out there yet
  5. I have only done a few actual headgasket failure jobs on ambos. most of the time its a fuel in coolant issue with a cracked head. lately its been rocker box gasket leaks which means you have to yank the engine to get the heads off. I hate them. I can beat the book by a couple hours if all goes right which most of the time it does not. ambos are by far the worst with having all the electronic crap in the way
  6. Ive had the intake air heater killing fuses before.
  7. got one in the shop today.... not a customer vehicle tho. prototype/demo thing. door molding fell off.
  8. isnt that the truth!! the constant battle of trying to fix a customers vehicle correctly and keep ford warrenty off your ass. your going to need to tear the heads off that thing to find the root failure and perform a cost cap before you can get a piror approval for an engine.
  9. I agree keith it would be nice if ford would give us some insite on this and maybe something in print so we can show customers. This is a very good customer of ours and I want to take care of him. I think if we had something to show him explaining more regen cycles on a 550 he would understand. however he is having a hard time with it since after we did a reprogram it started regening more.
  10. nice. Ive been seeing more and more base engine failures on these things. it takes a bit more to kill a 6.0. seems you have an injector take a dump on these 6.4s it kills the motor. Ive had 2 or 3 vehicles that run constantly and not getting hour vs miles oil changes thus filling the crankcase and cac so full of oil it overfuels and burns a hole.
  11. That was my initial answer that he is now more aware of it happening. He insists its doing it more often and his fuel mileage has gone down since. its a 550 btw
  12. Have a regular customer that has bought his vehicle here and returns for service on time. Last time it was here there was an issue with the aftermarket tank causing a restriction in the fuel supply lines and causing a stall. It also got the recalls for reprograming and radiator leak. Well now he is reporting excessive regen and a drop in fuel mileage. He drives about 150miles or more a day(tow truck) and it will regen about once every 75miles. anyone else have this issue come up? It was fine before the recall now seems to have an issue.
  13. there is a message on the home page of fmc dealer about these generic repros....
  14. Well Im hoping I found the problem. after stil having issues getting low pressure fuel. If I took the supply line off and stuck it in a jug of diesel I could get proper fuel pressure I droped the tank(aftermarket transflow 34gal tank) and found they did not have the extensions on the pickup lines to avoid crimping the fuel lines on the truck. got with the body builder and found out they never installed them and the bill is going to be on them. hope all is well once I get it back together. had to special order the fuel lines....
  15. talked with hotline a bit and got some other repairs with just a p0087 present however it seems like its one of those catch all codes. could be anything and everything. after some testing I have only 2.5 psi of erratic low pressure fuel so Im going to replace the pump and see what happens.
  16. p0087 all by itself. truck will stall then restart. drove 5 miles then stalled again and would not restart. towed in then fired up no issues. been running in my stall and around our shop for about an hour without issue. anyone having issues? Ive read the thread about the 0087 and 2291 but we do not have this cold weather all you guys are talking about. mid 70s here today! so no gelling issues to worry about. Im thinking ICP sensor?? wiring to??
  17. but they still cant fix the egr coolers from blowing up and have a whole new set of engine failures from common rail injection/DPR regens... bottom line is emissions is driving this cluster of diesel designs
  18. "we are out of keys" This is our problem as well. We have been running the new stuff but had a IC4 failure and having to resort back to IC3. Well we have not been able to program anything with it. Even on the old software. We reinstalled the new version and had a problem with getting a key, being told there were no more. I dont have a email here at work and cannot access my personal one due to firewalls. So I sent the key to my SM. well he couldnt find his email and my printout disappeared. finally late yesterday we found the old email and have the key. I have heard any key will work however for any install. none the less we are still having issues with not being able to program with NETS. We used a Dearborn interface to program a LCF ok but we can not get it to talk to a F650 with a 6.0 in it. Seems ford has shunned anything to do with these trucks and we are left hanging trying to explain to customers that need their trucks
  19. Anyone had any luck getting back a lost activation key? The paper work that I had with the key on it has walked off and we have to do a uninstall and reinstall on a cp that had MD on it.
  20. possible IPR sticking IPR issue it sounds like. that or your high pressure oil system has a leak. check your base oil pressure? how about filter? aftermarket?
  21. The front ones you can get. 1,3,2,4. its alot harder but I had number 5 swapped until I found a blown up lifter and had to take everything apart. you can unbolt the rail and being very very careful move it out of the way without removing the supply line. the back holes are pretty much screwed. try yanking the trans out then getting the lines that way. we have had good luck doing pumps and turbos with cab on and yanking the trans instead.
  22. check the center connector to the pcm. the pins get loose in there and can cause lose of snyc. make damn sure that wheel is solid on that crank. I had one do all kinds of weird crap. ended up pulling the sensor and sticking a screw driver in there to try and pry on the wheel to see how secure it was. found out it wasnt and ended up replacing the crank
  23. very cool! glad to see SVT stepping up. wonder what the price tag will be 400hp gasser in a F150. should be sick!
