  1. cab on is where its at. I can have one of these done in about 12hours start to finish.
  2. i sure hope that hood stays that way...im sick of racking my head on the 08s
  3. to answer your orginal question dp is a good company. they stand by their product and it does what it says. I would say its one of the better tuners on the market and driveabilty wise its top notch. smoke output is not all that bad unless your getting stupid with it. smoke from the tailpipe is pretty much like normal calibration unless you slam the throttle from a dead stop or heavy load. you can also switch it back to stock with a push of the button. I run one and love it. I also drive by my exhuast gauge and can turn it down as my load changes. I do alot of towing and hauling and it has really helped with fuel mileage, power and reponsiveness. on the mild ecomony tune it can hang with a 6.0 all day long. they can also tailer the tunes to whatever you need. Im very picky on a product like a tuner and wont run just any old crap. I did alot of research before shelling out for one.
  4. we ended up adding the restirctor as we found the tube of the core had the hole in it. crossing fingers we do not see it back
  5. bruno Ive had that same problem. no base engine oil pressure, remvoed the gerotor and found it all busted up with the typical metal debris getting run through it. found the perfect shape of the snapring that belongs in the stc fitting imprinted in the gerotor. removed the hpop and found the obvious stc leak. that was a fun one to claim under warranty
  6. thats my thoughts...let this EPA bs calm down on changing the deisel requirements and let manufactures figure this dpf, regen thing out. we dont need F150 customers being ticked that their mpg goes in the hole like the superduty
  7. my luck it will give me a testman and blank the module Ill try and program it later. I was going to submit a hotline request just to make sure before i did anything
  8. I just got one of these into the shop for recalls. question is do you actually reprogram it?? I do not wont to wipe whatever is installed in this thing then have it start looking for the sensors, valve and DPF
  9. you too huh??? been there and got bent too. fun isnt it?
  10. check it out. oil coolers get just the heat exchanger replaced. times have moved around and added a coolant flush
  11. I see that all the time too, whats the point of an adjustable tune if you dont use it? on a side note my 7.3 will haul balls with my tunes. I can tow my rockcrawler(whats left of an 86toyota) about 6k lbs like nothing. I had it light up the tires from a stop which suprised the hell out of me. Just need to drive by your exhuast guage and watch your boost along with trans temp and they live. some of those high strung 6.0 tunes scare me tho
  12. people really need to start understanding what maintance means on a $12k engine
  13. We have lots of the 6.0 tugs come through our shop. hope I can see a 6.4 truck soon. the 6.0s all had coolers and egr valves on them tho. they are a short little truck. also only go 35mph which I found out the hard way pulling into traffic!!
  14. yes the TSB was performed last time it was here. I got lucky and it went back to the orginal tech this time so for the time being its out of my hair at least. I think they are going to install the restrictor in this one and try that
  15. yup good luck they dont pay worth a damn and kick you in the sack everytime
  16. I dont think we have test strips here to check ph....Ill find out. I thought the restrictors where only if the tubes on the core was leaking and not the core itself? yes they are OEM cores. hell we have been servicing installing them cooling system seems fine, last time it was here it was flushed and the additive was used as well. green motorcraft coolant used
  17. seems I have got stuck with another techs headache recheck. about every 6 months we put a heater core in this truck. 03 7.3 with about 75k on it. Its a heavy equipment service truck complete with welder and crane. last time this rig was here it was checked for the electrolysis issue thoughts?
  18. great....sounds like this is going to turn into a headache. I cant keep track of all these rewrites

    6.0 water pump

Of course we dont just have a cover in stock...I worked on it and have a 4c3z-6608-a kit that has the gerotor and crap in it. and a have a 4c3c-8501-ac water pump seperate. It was going to be monday or tues before I could get just a cover by itself so this was the quickest way to get the truck back on the road this week.

    6.0 water pump

I am having some trouble finding a water pump for a early 04(03 engine). I replaced the pump about 10k miles ago for a weep hole leak. no its back with a broken impeller. I have had trucks in the past that will repeat the broken impeller. There used to be a TSB or SSM on this issue and had you replace the front cover and water pump with a larger 100mm?? pump. I cant seem to find this message nor the part number. My parts guy is ready to strangle me for making him work too hard.. any help
  22. For a $700-800 part you think it last a little longer than that. Im replacing 1-2 ficms a week and we are slow...I imagine things will get worse once we start pushing 100*+ in the summer
  23. I finally got mine in and the truck back to install. one down and 49pages left!
