yup railplugs/standtube or stc fitting leak most likely. take it out in the parking lot and put your foot on the floor to get that oil temp in the 220 degree range. let it hot soak for 5-10mins and It will act up. air check it and go after your leak. depending on vehicle/miles/customer I typically do both STF fitting and standtubes/plugs(new kit) to make sure it does not come back. Its just a matter of when not if.

good idea on oil samples. guy wants to off load truck so I dont think I will be doing much more to it now. still dead in my driveway however, he would be happy to just get it running but at this point its not going to happen short of replacing injectors. The more I think about this situation the more it makes sense the coolant in the oil caused it.....

just finished that. damn new one click just fine and pass the test on all holes. your right I dont beleive it. never have one do that to me all of a sudden. Ive always been able to get them to start when its hot out or the block heater is plugged in. whats worse is it drove here, shut off for an hour and would not restart but waas trying. Today it was even worse and does not even try. I assume this was due to it running with a leaky cooler? it started leaking after a 4 hr drive back to town then sat for about 2 weeks before I looked at it. last week i checked it out and remember running click tests and it was ok then, we started and stopped it a few times Just odd that it happened all of a sudden.

hey guys Ive got a problem child blocking my driveway and Im having to work on this thing in 112degree heat with no shade so my brain is a little fried. 2005 6.0 83k miles. It started out as getting driven over to my place to do a set of coolers for obvious leaks. it sat maybe an hr and I went to move it and could not get it to start. I had a very erratic injector precycle and the tpyical try to start but wont ficm low voltage type crank. Today I check it out. my ficm voltages all seem good but now Im not even getting a precycle at all during koeo or a injector click test. swaped out a ficm since Ive had that same very situation before. still same result. all fuses and ficm relay are good. I am assuming its a chaffed wire somewhere but I have not been able to find it. suggestions? kinda in a hurry on this one. blocking my driveway so I appologize now for lack of spelling and puncuation. thanks for any help

I hate fueling my tank. truck stops are even worse since they pump faster. If I just pump like normal and when it clicks its at least 5-6 gallons shy of full due to foam. I have to sit there and slow, and I mean slow fill it to get the extra 5-6 gallons. not so much a big deal around town driving by when towing and traveling it blows as I get less miles per tank and have to make fuel stops even more. I know on the dodges they reroute venting to help with this

IVe gotten them all one peice before. the adapter and filter housing. comes with all o-rings and even an oil filter preinstalled.

yes I nothing available for a adjustable pedal which is what Ive got.

Got word back from our rep and looks like we are SOL. the supplier went out of business and ford had to find another vendor. they are testing phase and expect to fill all 580 back orders by 12/31/09. awesome....

20 gallons of unleaded fuel in a 6.4
DieselD replied to 38ryr88's topic in 6.4L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
yes we did, I think we even submited a hotline request and made sure to note abuse -
is that the NM dealer? I know we did check oeconnection first. got a email into our fleet rep to see what he can do....but its looking worse and worse for this poor customer. only option I have right now is a used $185 pedal which of course the customer or dealer does not want to pay for which I cant blame either.

DieselD replied to Keith Browning's topic in 6.7L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
yup...got an 04 in the family and its clocked 145k and not one problem. maintained how and when I say and its good to go. no worrys on it running at least 300k -
interesting...I actually think we use one of those for a 7.3 once. mines a adjustable pedal tho. no listing for those on doorman
-
on these the sensor is all part of the pedal. pretty much destroy it trying to remove it

All Injectors Stuck Open/ Engine failure
DieselD replied to walleyewarrior's topic in 6.4L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
such headaches...been down this road a few times too. drop ins are nice but dont pay shit! I love how you spend all this time tearing down, inspecting to find the root cause only to not get paid for your time -

DieselD replied to 38ryr88's topic in 6.4L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
I had one that had been run and obviously the customer was not going to pay for all fuel system so he paid us to take a chance with flushing it out like a 6.0. truck ran fine after and have not seen it back but who knows what the future holds for that guys poor ol fuel system -
seriously what is the deal on getting parts?? Ive got a 2005 Excursion sitting here in need of a pedal 3C3Z-9F836-BA and there none to be found ANYWHERE! my guys are telling me backordered until 1/29/2010!!! So basically I need to tell the customer he is out of a vehicle for 3 months? We all know a diesel is useless with a bad pedal. great customer service ford thanks! anyone have an inside info on this issue?

kinda sucks for us since we are geared around fleet work. 650s and lcfs are alot of work for us. without them thats less work to roll through our doors. this emmissions shit is going to kill the diesel unless these major players dedicate time and money to make them cleaner to keep up with the rediclous laws each year.
-
we have a couple sitting on the lot. they have gotten alot of interest with them. We had one that was a 4diesel too! obviously that one was a demo and not forsale
-
yeah I saw what looks like a wastegate and a vgt on that thing too! 6 headbolts per cylinder ! I look forward to torqueing those mugs down! check out this sound link http://jalopnik.com/5349452/from-vulgar-display-of-power-stroke-to-sounds-of-silence

yup it can be reset. its in the parameters section

I have not had a recheck with stock parts aftering doing the repair. not to say they went somewhere else after warranty was up tho. arp studs are worth the cash if they want to run around on hot tunes but a stock truck shoul dbe fine with stock headgaskets

just when I thought they could not make that truck any worse looking
