  1. I have run into the problem with these piece a crap filters.
  2. I have used simple green as well and I must say, it sucks. Your picture of the two bottles side by side with the writing on them says enough: Good housekeeping vs Radiator degreaser. Hmmmm....which one should we try? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/scratchhead.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif I will try the L-11 radiator degreaser as well.
  3. And if that doesn't work, try Service Pack 1. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/icon_crazy.gif
  4. Been der, done dat. I'v'e canged about half a dozen of those sensors for that now. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/hammer2.gif
  5. Cut the threaded rod shorter and throw the handle in the garbage, I would think.
  6. There's always Cummins and Detroit. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif
  7. Just another little side note or hopefully a helpfull pointer: When I adjust the back pressure linkage, I back them off from what they say in the book. Meaning that I don't like to see them close as much they want them too. I have seen them stick shut from rust and carbon. And it seems to have been succesfull for me. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/2cents.gif
  8. I'm so friggin far behind, I think I'm first. I've got one engine ripped apart for a camshaft and lifters, another ripped apart for head gaskets, four more head gasket jobs waiting to come in the door and two no starts when hot. And then there is what they have booked for me in between. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crybaby2.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/tired.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/whattodo.gif
  9. And there we have it. I'm sure we all new the Wise Elder /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grampy-jim.gif (Don't be offended by that Jim) would give us some education. I can only remember the Trudeau and Mulroney years and up. And Jim is right, every party in power has done something to screw this country up every time they have been in power. I just hope our Leader now Makes somemore slight improvements, which I think he has already done. And in my opinion, he didn't really call an election just for the hell of it. It is risky for him to call an election. But I believe he called it with good intentions. Because if he wins a majority government, he just may actually be able to get something done by being able to call the shots himself without having such a powerfull oposition. I just hope he does good things and doesn't screw it up.
  10. I always use Battery cleaner and let it soak for at least five minutes and then I pressure wash the batteries with Hot water. Works great.
  11. Well, I can't wait for Jim to chime in here. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grampy-jim.gif Isn't it funny how this little smiley has pretty much become the official representation for Jim. But I must say that the this country has been run, overtaxed, and screwed up by the damned liberals for too long. The East and the West have always been split. Politically that is. Most of the population lives in the East and Most of the country's resources are in the West along with alot of hard working labourers that have felt forgotten. The West has mostly always been Conservative and the East has mostly always been Liberal. But along with exposure to media came the fall of the Scandalling Liberal Government who did jacksh!t for us anyways other than spend tonnes of money on parties research ventures across seas to pallaces and temples and themselves. However, our existing government came into power only with a minority government which makes it extremely hard to get anything done. They are constantly opposed by a leader of the Liberal party who can hardly even speak a word of english and a leader of another NDP party who is extremely high on himself while he flies around in his ozone depleting jet critisizing the Alberta oil sands and saying that Alberta should stop production untill they figure out a greener way of doing business. Screw you Jack(ASS)Layton. I came from Saskatchewan which was an NDP run Government forever. The province is one of the highest taxed provinces in this country and the only reason they mean anything is because they have oil. Hopefully their new government will help change that. But the NDP government ran that province into the ground by catering to welfare bumbs and non tax paying folks that live there. Now, believe it or not. I am aware of global warming and I do beleive that we need to do something about our future. And I don't always agree with everything that the whole Conservative government beieves in, But I do think that our Priminister is the best damn leader we have had for this country in decades. And I hope and pray that out of this election he wins a Majority government so he can actually get some shit done and tell Jackass Layton and that snivling little whining prick Stephan Dion to just shut the hell up. So that's what I say is the matter with Canada and I am going to keep this one short because I ran out of beer. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crybaby2.gif And let's not forget that Priminister Harper has one hell of a mess that the Libereal's left behind to clean up. Let's also not forget that he is the first leader we have had, who has stepped up to the plate and appologized for all the crap that the previous governments have screwed up. So can you guess who I am voting for? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/scratchhead.gif
  12. Another vote from me. But somehow I think it will fall on deaf ears.
  13. The load pid at idle would have been a good one to pay attention to. There was another topic about the load pid being a good indicator for faulty injectors. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/scratchhead.gif I don't remember who said it, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/scratchhead.gif but they indicated that about 40 %load at idle was the limit for pooched injectors. I have been paying close attention to this PID ever since I read that. Haven't found any bad ones yet because of it, But I know what good looks like. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/coffee.gif
  14. That's a good question. Especially when the difference is 3.9 litres per U.S gallon and 4.546 litres per Imperial gallons. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/scratchhead.gif
  15. I have never really paid attention to how well a 5.4L Superduty rides. Most likely because I don't care. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shrug.gif But every time I get into a V10, I am always impressed with the whole truck. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbup.gif Maybe that's just because it works extremely well.
  16. I was referring to the Protech massage board replies Jim. I guess you still can't view that though, not that that matters. I'm not really pro 75W140 or pro 80W90 though. I was just simply getting at the fact that you can't really blame 75W140 for all of our bearing failures when it seams to perform pretty well in other aplications.
  17. I sure don't see the pro 80W90 crowd responding this time. I didn`t get to see your post a couple of years ago. Must have been busy.
  18. I posted this topic on Protech just to see what kind of ideas and opinions it would bring. There are a few old dogs in our dealership that have this theory that 75W140 Synthetic is the main cause of all the F-150 differential bearing failures. I have worked in other dealerships that have had this same theory. My theory is that it is just a crappy manufacturing issue. So here's my question: If 75W140 synthetic is the main cause of the bearing failures, then why don't we see this problem on the Superduty's being that they use the same fluid? I have heard the age ole arguement where techs say: I use 80W90 on diff overhauls and have no comebacks. But I come back at them with: I use 75W140 synthetic on my diff overhauls and never have a comeback. So, what do ya all think?
  19. Being that Keith is the owner and host of this site, I don't hink any of us will even think about catching up to him. But then again, I could be wrong.
  20. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif
  21. Only in the U.S. You guys get all the good sh!t long before we do. I am a memnber of the Sirius Sound Board up here, not that that means anything, but there has been many rumours about the merger happening up here, but it ain't happening. They say it may happen some day, but who knows when the hell that will ever be. Anywho, I heard the debut on air and I didn't mind it. I wouldn't go crazy about it, but hey, it was allright. Maybe the more I hear it, the more I'll like it. Holy crap, I finally hit six hundred posts and turned into a tinker toy engineer. I don't think I will ever catch up to Jim and Larry though.
  22. Niiice. I could pull my 28 foot beer fridge with that. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rockon.gif I just don't think my budget could afford it.
  23. What kind of turbo setup is on that thing. Got anymore photo's of the turbo? I saw pictures of a cummins in a tractor do that at 100psi. I'm trying to catch up on the posts that I missed over the last two weaks of being on hollidays. That's freakin wild.
