  1. Cut the heads off the body bolts with the torch. Lift the cab. Trim the bolt off a little closer to the floor. Weld a nut to the bolt, close to the floor, with the MIG set up on the highest voltage setting it'll go to. Make sure you're a good welder, you don't get more than one try at this. It'll melt the loctite -- be careful not to set the carpet on fire. Worked pretty good so far.
  2. I don't think it's new...the last one I did paid more than 1.7, i know that for sure, I think it was right around 2.0, but that was over a year ago... we all know how that goes.
  3. Also: Compression Pressure - Check This operation should be used when concern found requires cylinder head removal for repairs. If engine removal is required refer to 6007A28. Can only be used once per repair. For Diesel Engines this labor op requires that the repairing technician be certified in Training Specialty Area 51 or 52. For Gasoline Engines this labor op requires dealership Shop Competency in Training Specialty Area 31 or that the Repairing technician be certified in Training Specialty Area 31 or 32. When claiming 6051A11*: Do not use with; 12405A*, 6007A28. * Overlap includes ALL labor operation category codes such as Left, Right, Both, One, All, Upper, Lower, High, Low, etc. 6.0L DIT 6051A11 0.7

  5. I need one of those hats... I bashed myself good the other day.
  6. That show is the WORST SHIT I HAVE EVER SEEN! LOL There's a Jersey Shore name generator floating around out there somewhere... Apparently I'm "The Deltoid" Not sure if I like that or not.
  7. OK... got the video. Holy shit. That would be scary working like that. Question. Is he taking the rear seat out at some point? If not, how the hell is he getting the center cab mounts undone? That idea of lifting the ass end way up in the air would take some getting used to, that's for sure. And I'm not one for the stilts, that looks DANGEROUS.
  8. We're just getting into it in Canada shortly here on injectors. From what the ticker said on the hotline, it said if relative compression varies by 2%, you must also have manual compression readings.
  9. look up seniormastertech on YouTube -- he does a time-lapse video of a cab-off 08SD, it's pretty cool. The soundtrack sucks though. Assuming this isn't the same guy, my internet connection bites, so I'm awaiting download lol.
  10. What if the fuel sample fails due to metal contamination?
  11. The next hurdle would be READING the number off the back of the block... if it ain't too corroded.
  12. I'd tell them if they aren't going to supply the VIN, you're buying the engine elsewhere.
  13. I run a drag car, in MOD ET. Mid 11 second ride on pump gasoline, can drive back and forth to the track if I don't feel like loading it on the trailer. Cylinder heads are at the machine shop as we speak. If you need any GM metric chassis parts, let me know, I got a LOT of stock stuff. What rules are you using? What are you allowed to do to the motor? What crate 350? As for how she liked it? I just got "the look"....
  14. That's what I'm talkin about! Whatcha got, what class? And what are you stepping up to? I ...ahem... surprised the wife around this time last year, she came home from work and my roller was sitting on the lawn
  15. I think you can do an injector self test on a 7.3 with a Snappy scanner, but I can't remember rightly. I will have a look on Monday, we have one at work for doing off-brand stuff.
  16. $1k is cheap They retail around $2600 in Canada, if I recall rightly. 9C3Z-5H221-B i think is the latest-and-greatest p/n. It doesn't price out on Tasca's website.
  17. LOL @ using the new-car vac. I bet they appreciate the hell outta that when they go to vacuum out a car with a white interior afterward And FWIW, I've gotten them to pay for intake cleaning under warranty.
  18. I dont even know why they bother returning battery claims for invalid codes. I mean, really, do you guys test the battery from THAT EXACT WORKORDER, when the claim gets returned, because there's a letter O instead of a ZERO on the fucking claim?
  19. Depends on where you are located.. There is a facility in Windsor, Ontario that does it. Check in the phone book, or maybe on the internet. Bruce might know a place off the top of his head.
  20. Is it an early build? Could there be the possibility of the HPFP cover gasket harness rubbing through?
