  1. Did you happen to notice if ICP sensor is original(old style)? If so, unplug sensor and check for oil leaking through center, I seem to see a ton like this! Causes some weird issues!!
  2. IPR was reading lower than usual due to the ICP fault in reading higher than actual. I've come across this same issue with an ICP sensor twice before. The first one kicked my but for a bit!
  3. That's what it's all about!! Family is the reason we do what we do!! I'm not sure I'd work as hard as I do if I only had to worry about me!!!!
  4. I'd love the MP3. joshbuys@yahoo.com
  5. My dad and uncles are all Chevy/GM guys....so naturally, I bought a FORD Focus when I was 18. Now my wife and I have a '98 Jeep Grand Cherokee(It's for sale) and a '00 Dodge Durango as our daily drivers. My new daily driver once we sell the jeep is to be a '91 Subaru Justy (souly for purposes of gas mileage) I also have an '85 GMC Suburban with blown intake gaskets. And a '72 Dodge Power Wagon that needs the carb gone through.
  6. Had a 6.4 a few weeks ago - company refused to replace the fuel system - contacted hotline and was given the directions to open a CUDL to cancel the warranty - my SM did just that and we sent them out the door with a fresh tank of diesel. NOT MY PROBLEM WHEN THEY GET TO THE NEXT DEALER AND FIND OUT THEY HAVE NO WARRANTY!!!!
  7. Each of the back two connectors control 2 injectors on each bank... middle is 1,4,6,7 and rear is 2,3,5,8 IIRC this is on later models - again with the memory thing....IIRC the early 6.0's had each bank on it's own connnector.
  8. This is all I could think of as I read your post!!
  9. I've seen a couple cracked normally just above one of the hold down bolts - seems to me it's from someone wrenching these down with the filter/cap already screwed into them and causing resistance as they're bolting it down. Pretty easy fix though!
  10. I don't mean it would be catastrophic....I mean there would be no useful diagnostic information obtained from such an endeavor.
  11. No Prob....hopefully he's back on the road!
  12. +1 - I've seen guys not suck it all out and as a result have some crap they dropped in the reservoir go through the IPR and kill the truck requiring a repeat visit! (And yes, I myself did this on my first one, but after that.....haven't seen any issues when sucking ALL the oil out).
  13. Yeah, I use the jumpers when I've got codes, now that I've looked back over this post, I see this wouldn't be very usefuel for you since you have no codes. I've never tried running a truck with the jumpers on, but I can't imagine it would work very well, or tell you anything usefull.
  14. We obtained an intake that the SM decided needed replacement due to the amount of carbon and the particular customer whose truck it was, and then parts was told to scrap it. So, we've always got a clean intake ready to go on. We have a hot soap/water parts washer Kuda - does a pretty good job getting these clean - each intake gets washed.
  15. How does his truck run at this point? Doesn't mention that his truck has had "$15,000.00" of repairs on FORD'S DIME! Seems to me maybe he's so pissed 'cause his warranty ran out a month ago!
  16. PULL THE MAP HOSE AND RUN A STRAIGHT PICK THROUGH THE ORFICE TO MAKE SURE IT'S GOOD AND CLEAR.
  17. I have a set of jumpers so i can "swap injector wiring" made from an old injector harness and two old injector pigtails. They allow me to unplug the injector harness from a suspect injector and one of it's neighbors, hook the jumpers in and route the wiring to the neighboring injector. This is a quick, easy way to diagnose whether it's the injector or the harness.
  18. Checked prices today: FICM - 4C3Z-12B599-ABRM - 708.33 FICM HALF - 4C3Z-12B599-BARM - 513.83
  19. Where in wyoming? Bring it to me and I'll fix it, I'm smack dab in the middle of the state!!
  20. Make sure you drop a dime in the bottom of the cup before you start running the tap in - it will keep the shavings out of the cylinder!
  21. while the part may not come up in the system(catalog) the parts department uses, whether it be ADP, Microcat(the two we have here) or any of the other systems, if you go on the Ford site that they use for ordering parts, the information is there for it already, I priced one just for fun - list price on a ficm - 711.XX, list price on the new ficm half - 509.XX - not much savings there!!
  22. I haven't had to replace one for a misfire, but I did have one that had high resistance on the FRP sensor circuit causing a lack of power. Set a code for High FRP....don't remember the code - maybe a P0089 or something like that
