6.0 tool kit part numbers
joshbuys replied to dieseldoc's topic in Tools, Computers and the Internet
+1 Seems to me it's probably close to 3ft....use it almost daily!! -
Seen probably a dozen with this issue....don't think there was ever a message on them, but they make a HUGE mess!!!! WSM says to remove a whole bunch of crap to replace the tube....totally unnecessary!!!! If you pull the 13mm nut, and the 8mm bolt from the tube, you can snake it out the bottom with a little twisting/turning and some finesse, and then fish it back up - easier if you grab a helper to guide the top into the correct position.

USB ports CANNOT BE REPLACED SEPERATELY!!!! Had to have motherboard replaced....$300 + later....USE THE EXTENSIONS!!!!

A more detailed communication will be released in January, 2010 once the new Motorcraft Diesel Exhaust Fluid is released for ordering. WHAT IS DEF? A non-hazardous clear fluid (67% deionized water / 33% chemically pure Urea) that is injected into the diesel exhaust system to reduce NOx emissions. WHY DEF? Required for the 2011 model year F-Super Duty 6.7L Ford diesel to meet 2010 EPA emission regulations For use with competitive make vehicles using a SCR (selective catalytic reduction) system The majority of diesel (light and heavy duty) manufacturers will use DEF to meet the new requirements PART ORDERING A communication will be sent in early January to announce product ordering details. In general: DEF is a supplier direct ship product, similar to Motorcraft Coolant & Refrigerant Dealers can order product directly or through their facing Ford Authorized Distributors FADs will have product by late January (prior to dealers receiving vehicles) KEY DATES Motorcraft Diesel Exhaust Fluid will be available to order early January 2010 Super Duty Job1 is January 18, 2010 Super Duty "ok to buy" is March 8, 2010 MOTORCRAFT PACKAGE OFFERINGS Part Number Package Size Dispenser PM-27-1G 1-gallon Bottle Fast fill - no spill nozzle included PM-27-J 2.5-gallon Jug Fast fill - no spill nozzle included PM-27-D 55-gallon Drum Pumping equipment required (Rotunda) PM-27-T 275-gallon Tote Pumping equipment required (Rotunda) DISPENSING EQUIPMENT 55-gallon drums and 275-gallon totes will require specialized pumping equipment offered by Rotunda. Dealers with inventory of Motorcraft DEF will have their contact information placed on the Department of Energy (DOE) DEF locator website. http://www.afdc.energy.gov/afdc/locator/def/ Ford will be providing this information to the DOE based on dealer inventories of DEF verified purchases in early January 2010. FAQ Why use Motorcraft DEF? Motorcraft DEF is API certified, meeting ISO22241, and is the only fluid approved and recommended by Ford Motor Company. Inferior product may result in costly damage to the SCR system. System damage as a result of inferior fluid is not eligible for warranty reimbursement. How is the vehicle filled with DEF? The fluid is supplied through a fill port located next to the diesel fuel fill port; it has a blue cap clearly marked for diesel exhaust fluid. What is the capacity of the vehicle DEF tank? The DEF tanks have a five to six gallon capacity, depending on the vehicle configuration. How frequently will DEF need to be replenished? The system is designed to last approximately 7,500 miles between fill ups, coinciding with the oil & filter change interval. However, depending on customer use, replenishment may need to occur more frequently. Is there a DEF tank level gauge? The vehicle instrument cluster will provide indication of fluid level in the DEF tank, as well as provide warning messages when the DEF is low and needs to be refilled. Can the vehicle be operated without DEF? The vehicle will not operate properly without DEF. When the vehicle DEF monitoring system detects no DEF is available, the vehicle initially goes into a speed limiting mode and then progresses into an idle only mode. How should DEF inventory be stored? DEF should be stored out of direct sunlight in temperatures between 23F and 86F (-5C and 30C) Freezing point is 12F (-11C) Prolonged storage at higher temperatures will cause DEF to breakdown reducing shelf life. Storing DEF at 86F reduces shelf life to approximately 12months. Can DEF freeze in the vehicle? Yes. However, Ford Motor Company vehicles have a tank and line heater to ensure the vehicle operates in extremely cold climates. QUESTIONS Please contact your FCSD Parts and Service Zone Manager.

It does call for related articles - TSB 08-23-01 which will give you another 5.4 hours to flush the cooling system on an econoline. grand total of 27 hours to do heads and flush cooling system on e-van = not nearly enough time.....not sure what retail would be, since I don't do many e-vans anymore, but we charge around 30 for heads on a f-series.

Don't pull the turbo either - pull the cab bolts, jack the front of the cab up high enough to put a 4x4 block between frame and cab, pull lower oil pan, pull engine - put on stand, perform bedplate reseal (be sure to use silicone on beadplate seals per SSM 20714. 20714 DIESEL LOWER CRANKCASE SEAL UPDATED SERVICE PROCEDURE THE WORKSHOP MANUAL PROCEDURES FOR 4.5L/6.0L/6.4L DIESEL ENGINE EQUIPPED VEHICLES FOR REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION OF THE LOWER CRANKCASE SEAL HAVE BEEN UPDATED TO INCLUDE NEW INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE PROPER INSTALLATION OF A THIN FILM OF MOTORCRAFT GASKET MAKER (TA-16) TO THE UPPER AND LOWER CRANKCASE GROOVES OF THE BLOCK AND BEDPLATE PRIOR TO INSTALLING THE CRANKCASE SEAL. REFER TO THE ON-LINE WORKSHOP MANUAL SECTION 303-01C FOR THE REVISED PROCEDURES. EFFECTIVE DATE: 03/30/2009 Been doing it this way for a couple years! Can have one done in 11-12 hours and running back down the road!!!! They've been doing this on reman engines for several years now.

Our shop charges 1.3 for 6.4 and 1.0 for 6.0. The extra .3 is for bleeding the fuel system. First off, our owner's own 9 other dealers (mostly Ford, couple GM/Chevy, couple Toyota, couple Dodge (some in the same locations). And they have the brilliant idea to 'menu' all the common repairs - diesel fuel filters at any dealership in our group - 0.6 - have argued this 'til I'm blue in the face with my SM - warranty pays 0.8!!!! So I generally try not to do them! Send them to the lube rack!!!! Secondly Quote: bleed the fuel system [/quote'] is completely uneccesary - if you have to bleed after filter replacement YOU DID SOMETHING WRONG!!!! Cycle the key 10 times after replacing both filters and it will NEVER air lock if everything is operating properly!

Same here, Manager says if we can't take the time to fill them out, He can't take the time to pay us! Most of my RO's are usually a book - some 30 plus pages! Documentation is all that counts, one of our tech's had an odd problem with an 01 explorer with communication issues - FSE came several times, took close to a year of changing this and changing that and letting the customer drive in between. In the end a 02 explorer pcm fixed the problem - over 100 hours clocked on the RO and only requesting 20 hours from Ford - they rejected the claim too many times to count, but my SM was diligent and they finally asked for supporting documentation - little did they know their fax would soon be printing the 100 plus pages of supporting documentation. Paid the following day! Without documentation of everything, You CANNOT prove that you did ANYTHING!!!!

Thank you for all your help. I ended up finding those same numbers Mike. Contacted hotline tech support and they led me to the dell website where I found those....pretty cheap to! Everywhere else I looked wanted twice the price for the same part numbers.

IT HAS A SCREW IN IT TO LOCK IT INTO THE IDS SO THAT THE MULTIPLE REMOVAL/INSERTION OF THE USB CABLE DOESN'T WEAR OUT THE PORTS ON THE COMPUTER. IN THE SHOP ENVIRONMENT ALOT OF GUYS ARE HARD ON THIS KIND OF EQUIPMENT. ALL THAT I'VE BEEN ABLE TO FIND IS THE 6" EXTENSION CABLES WITHOUT THE SCREW IN PORTION.
-
I've looked everywhere and can't seem to find them. Convenient that the 2 new ones we had didn't have a part number on the package....just 'USB EXTENSION' and a barcode. Thanks for your help.

ANYBODY KNOW WHERE I CAN FIND THESE, OURS ARE BREAKING, AND NOW ONE OF OUR TOUGHBOOKS NEEDS NEW USB PORTS. GOT TWO GOOD ONES IN THE OTHER, BUT NEED MORE SO WHEN WE GET THE OTHER BACK FROM THE REPAIR SHOP WE CAN PREVENT DAMAGE IN THE FUTURE.

High Pressure Pump Harness Shorted
joshbuys replied to joshbuys's topic in 6.4L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
What other modifications did this have in the way of removing turbo? I've done pump body on in less than 12 hours.... -
I've gotten in the habbit of asking for base numbers of the common parts I use....saves some confusion - then they can look it up against the vehicle I'm working on and get the right prefix/suffix.
-
ktmlew if you email it to me (joshbuys@yahoo.com) i'm pretty sure I can get it opened up.

Federal Reserve is not owned by the US Government! It is a series of PRIVATELY owned banks....12 of them to be exact, that are "Regulated" by "Government Officers/Laws" Yes our Tax money goes to them (in the form of interest on money borrowed by our "GOVERNMENT" that wouldn't know how to govern a single cell organism let alone OUR COUNTRY!) JFK once signed a bill to pay off the FED, and we all know what happened next!

injector prior approval process
joshbuys replied to kevin41's topic in 6.0L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
I'VE SUBMITTED APPROVAL FOR UP TO 3 INJECTORS AND GOT THE GREEN LIGHT IN 10 MINUTES OR LESS, YOU NEED TO KNOW WHICH STEPS TO GO THROUGH AND WHAT INFO THEY WANT WHEN YOU SUBMIT, IF YOU GIVE THEM EVERYTHING UP FRONT, THEN THEY CAN SEE THE WHOLE PICTURE AND MAKE AN 'INFORMED' DECISION. HAD ONE GUY IN THE SHOP SUBMIT AND THEY TOLD HIM TO DO THE BALLOON TEST AND RESUBMIT WITH FINDINGS, I EXPLAINED TO HIM HOW IT WORKED, AND THAT YOU HAVE TO DO THE AERATION CHECK FIRST AND IF THERE'S NO AERATION, THE BALLOON TEST IS NOT NECESSARY - AERATION IS EASY TO CHECK SINCE YOU SHOULD HAVE YOUR FUEL TESTER HOOKED UP ALREADY CHECKING PRESSURE. I DID HAVE AN INSPECTOR LAST WEEK FOR INJECTORS UNDER ESP WARRANTY AT 150,000 MILES. BASICALLY JUST WANTED TO CHECK FOR MODIFICATIONS BEFORE APPROVING - THE TRUCK HAD LOW FUEL PRESSURE 2 MONTHS AGO WHEN I REPLACED THE REGULATOR AND 2 INJECTORS - NOW IT'S BELOW 0 HERE, THERE'S GONNA BE PROBLEMS WITH OTHER INJECTORS!!!! APPROVED 20 MINUTES AFTER INSPECTOR LEFT HERE. -
Upfitter Switch Wiring Information
joshbuys replied to Keith Browning's topic in Body, Chassis and Electrical
UPFITTER SWITCHES ARE ALREADY INSTALLED ON THIS TRUCK, I HAVE TO INSTALL THE RESISTOR FOR IDLE UP AND HOOK UP TO THE SWITCH FOR THE IDLE UP, AND HOOK TWO OTHER CIRCUITS UP TO SWITCHES FOR POWER TO THE HYDRALIC CONTROLS ON THE BED.
