Sold camshaft, lifters and rocker arms on a 2010 6.4L. Another dealer heard the popping, looked at the mileage and tried to sell him an engine. Retail EGR cooler and turbo coolant line, 2011 F350. EGR valve and housing 2008 F550. Left side injector harness 2009 F450.

It's that time again.....Another PCM reprogramming recall on the 6.7L, another round of telling the same customers, for the 3rd time now, that they don't get the recall because they tuned their truck..... , I think I am going to start logging .2 for each one like this.

Disneyland ROCKS!! and being 47 years old, I never get tired of that place. What's even better is watching my daughter dance in Disney's Dance the Magic parade in both Disneyland and California Adventure. Super good time.

2015...But whatever caused the initial issue, then fixed itself by sitting for 2 weeks is what has me baffled. They put 10 km on it just by taking it back to the yard and bringing it back to me. Very odd.

So here is a new one for everyone. 2 weeks ago on the Friday afternoon before my 2 week holiday to Disneyland with the kids(my daughter danced in the big Dance the Magic parade in Disneyland and California Adventure, lots of fun...)back to my point, this truck comes in DEF fault, speed limited to 80 kph, P207F. They were ok with booking the truck back in when I got back, I knew I couldn't do anything by erasing the code so I left it as is. Well, fast forward to today, they brought the truck back this morning, the message is now gone, but the P207F remains. After both NOX sensors, various road tests and manual regens and drive cycles, the code remains, but no messages or MIL. Checked the EGR system as well. All good. Came across SSM 45920. Returning to customer..Let's see what happens.

2017 F-SUPER DUTY NEW MODEL TRAINING WEBINAR
lmorris replied to Keith Browning's topic in Tools, Computers and the Internet
One salesman here went and just informed me that the Super Duty will have the same cab as the F150. Going to have even more fun trying to find a white F350 on our lot now. -
Goes up with the body.

Here is something to consider. Do you run a wireless network with a lot of devices connected to it? We did, when the boss kicked all the cellphones off and changed the router, I have had no issues with mine. It will reach across the 5 bays if needed.

They have multiple channels that they can switch between when interference degrades the signal.

My 6.0 nightmare story
lmorris replied to Matt Saunoras's topic in 6.0L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
Have 2008 6.4L in my bay currently with broken exhaust bolts on both sides. Getting 2 new manifolds. Same sound. -
Funny thing. Our owner kicked all the cellphones and tablets off our wireless and I haven't had an issue with the old dongles since. He is still getting a couple of the "E" series anyways.

The number one thing taught by Ford technical training is how to navigate the Service manuals and follow PPT, yet I still keep seeing posts like this..... Working on a 2013 Super Duty, 135,xxx on the odometer. Has been having constant 4x4 problems. Can't seem to get the big hub seals to maintain a seal. R.F. has had wheel bearing replaced, knuckle replaced, hub seal replaced, and it still is leaking. Any ideas? Thanks Despite the urge to not respond, I had to.... WSM section 308-07A. There are tools to isolate the source of the leak. Start at PPT K26.

Agree with Alex. I tried once with out tilting the cab and it just wouldn't clear. That extra 2 inches you gain with the tilt is the key.

Just finished up another one. Dosing test and quality passed, had a look in the mixer, some build up, ran manual regen(which BTW is the quickest way to exit Engine Idled mode), cleaned up but code returned. MAF was all over the place on the EGR cooler test. Air filter was collapsed and MAF was dirty, new air filter and MAF, cleaned up the hoses and air box. Reset everything and all is good so far. Side note: Someone mentioned they were monitoring the NOX sensors. Which PIDS? I had NOX11 PPM up and nox monitor, NOX11 was reading around 345 on accell and averaged 70 on cruise until the monitor completed then dropped to 1 or 2 at cruise and 7-8 on acell and idle.

I no longer talk to customers on the phone and this is why. If they don't have enough understanding of their truck to access the situation and come to their own conclusion as to whether or not they should tow it in to us, then why do they think they are going to understand my questions and give me an informed answer so I can make an informed conclusion as to whether they should tow it or not.

Those are piggy back chips, I am pretty sure all they do is override the stock programming. The only issue I have ever seen is when they come loose and cause the issues, never had one actually damage a PCM. Try to reprogram the PCM, maybe the software is corrupt.

This is the guy's summer daily driver, lucky bastard. Oh and BTW, it's tuned to just over 700 HP...

BAH.... The 2010 F350 showed up.....Smokes, hissing, lacks power.....Full DPF and EGR delete, Banks turbos and CAC....Check engine light is now since the customer removed the tuner... ....Turbo's are bad because the reusable air filter seems to have let some dirt pass and whoever put the turbos on it left the heat shield off, so I pretty sure the oil is getting slightly cooked before it hits the turbos. Found the CAC tube off the HP turbo ripped, so that's his main concern fixed. Slow ass Spartan tuners...took forever to put the correct tune back in to turn off the light, plus they won't let the engine run without the MAF hooked up... Crankcase pressure 14" water, disconnected the CAC and it dropped to 4"...turbos confirmed.

Well...the 2010 with the Banks system never showed up. The injector comment was a completely different customer with a 2005 F350....It didn't really NEED injectors, had a bit of a stumble on cold start that I couldn't pin down to any specific cylinder, but ran awesome hot, plus the front end tech estimated a bunch of work, total bill was over $7000. It is currently collecting dust outside.

Get to replace a head gasket in a 2013 Ram 350 dually, any tips?

HAPPY DAYS....The dealership is buying the guy out of the truck and sending off to auction. -
We have an ATEQ VT30. When you train sensors, if it doesn't pick up a signal right away it will attempt to wake up the sensor. I had a dead sensor once, right out of the bag, used this tool on another bagged sensor and it woke it up and read the sensor. You might not be able to train them to the vehicle if they are not reading any pressure though. Spinning them on the balancer should work to wake them though.

Most likely too late to post this now, but there must be a few left that haven't made the jump to 10 yet. Go through your system and list all the stuff that would typically need the occasional driver update, ie: printers/scanners, video cards, sound cards, wireless cards. Go to the product website BEFORE you update. MOST of them will instruct you to remove the current driver, sometimes requiring a downloadable uninstall tool, download the new driver, then update Windows and install new driver after. Thus is the case for my work printer, I can't find the drivers to uninstall and there is no Windows 10 uninstall tool available...

You have to wake up new sensors, usually by rolling the tire. Some aftermarket TPMS tools have a built in wake up function, the little grey ones you can get through Ford parts won't.

Guess what.....It's back...Complaining of over heating going up hills. The tuner in this thing does not have a stock HP setting, lowest is "TOW" 70 HP. Do these things have any other known issues I should be looking at? -
PDI's.....Tried to sell an engine to the owner of a 2009 F350 with a worn out 6.4L, also tried to sell an EGR cooler and rad to the owner of a 2012 F250. Haven't heard anything on either of them.
