  1. I have had a 08 f450 truck towed in with hole in piston no trans concerns. Put in the enhanced short block take on the test drive and about a mile out it made alot of noise out of the rear of the trans. I turned around and limped it back slowly to the shop. I found out they towed the truck with the driveshaft in when they brought it in. It got a reman trans.
  2. Its both turbos in 1 box with the install kit and oil supply line 1 part #
  3. Did you guys see this. Ford has released a dual-stage turbocharger option that covers all 6.4L Power Stroke Diesel applications. Analysis has shown that over 33% of repairs with a High Pressure (HP) turbocharger (8C3Z-6K682-BARM) also included a Low Pressure (LP) turbocharger (8C3Z-6K682-AARM). Offering a dual turbo option will provide customers who need to replace both turbos a better value -- and encourage some who would try to get by with replacing only the HP or LP turbo to replace both with the dual option. The reman Dual-Stage turbo (8C3Z-6K682-CRM) is priced lower than the combined price of the LP and HP turbos, plus it includes an oil supply line and an installation kit which must be purchased separately with the individual LP and HP turbos. The LP and HP turbos will still be available for customers who only need to replace one of the units. Dealers order from their Powertrain Distributor.
  4. I removed the bit drive head out of this rachet and installed it into a flex head rachet. It works awesome.
  5. The dumbest part is had the customer brought to you with broken hold down he could have gotten that warratied and saved the hassle and $. I ran the 9c334 base # with 85,000 km and it said is covered. 7. I agree, I would also like to know what they are doing. Remember the early 6.0 days we would reprogram and new concerns would show up.
  8. Thanks, I figured eventually they would get sick of my application. I am excited to get to Dearborn and check out that end of the operations. The first phone meeting is next tuesday and he said we will be talking about travel plans. So they must bring us to Dearborn right away.
  9. I replaced the cold cac tube reprogramed to latest level ran manual regen. Test drove makes 28 psi boost all pids look normal. I dont see a reason this destroyed a cac tube that fast.
  10. I have a f550 just come in with tube blown apart was just replaced under 5k ago. I am going to put tube on reprogram run a regen and see what happens.
  11. Check this out if you cant access the link. EFC03598.pdf
  12. I have been chosen to represent the Twin Cities Region. Please let me know of issues you would like me to bring up. We have out first meeting tuesday. http://www.fmcdealer.dealerconnection.com/sites/ford_lm/edc/Pages/EFC03598.pdf
  13. I have never worked on a lcf but the old icp adapter from 7.3 days would work to get your icpv corect? Note: If the ICP Adapter Cable D94T-50-A is connected to the ICP sensor, connect a digital multimeter between signal return and ICP signal wires on the adapter cable. Crank the engine and monitor the signal. The digital multimeter should read 1 to 4 volts.
  14. To answer your question yes if pressure builds fast it has been egr cooler and if it takes high load and boost to build pressure it has been headgaskets in my experience also.
  15. From tsb 9-8-3 Road Test For Leaking Head Gaskets - Setup And Observations: Install the vehicle measurement module (VMM) pressure vacuum transducer (PVT), or Rotunda Pressure Adapter Kit 014-00761, or equivalent. (Figure 4) Figure 4 - Article 09-8-3 CAUTION: CAREFULLY RELEASE THE COOLING SYSTEM PRESSURE WHILE REMOVING DEGAS CAP. Carefully release the cooling system pressure, leaving the tester in place. Seal pressure bleed. Drive the vehicle at wide open throttle (WOT) / high load / to achieve maximum boost. Observe whether the cooling system pressure exceeds the holding pressure noted in Step 2e. Check for coolant venting through the degas bottle cap by listening for a hissing noise. If the cooling system pressure is less than the holding pressure noted in Step 2, go to Step 10. If the cooling system pressure exceeds the holding pressure noted in Step 2, and/or the degas bottle cap continuously vents with loaded engine, go to Step 8.
  16. One of these rearends is how i found out about making the dummy bearings to set up the rearend. I was having a hell of a time with that no crush sleeve also. I had set up a ton of 8.8 and 9.75 at the time and had them down good with the ford tools. So when I ran into the dana we didnt have set up tools for i got my ass kicked. Then I called and talked to that rearend rebuilder and he explained getting the extra bearings to set it up.
  17. I got a 12 f250 like a 6 inch lift with 35 inch tires guy said drives like crap compared to before. I drove it and it feels like the rearend isnt attached to the truck very squirrelly . I found the rear lift blocks are cracked and the u bolts seem very loose. The u bolts must be stretched. We got the name off the lift kit and googled it. The company has a 3 year unlimited mile warranty. Parts called them and they said they will warranty them if customer has original receipt. The guy bought the truck this way he called the place that he bought it from. They had sent the truck out to get the lift kit put in and dont have receipt. They gave us the name of the company that put lift kit in who originally bought the kit. When they called them they have records of the truck being done now they begin to search thru old files to find receipt.
  18. I some times second guess myself for using the ford tools to measure pinion depth as good as it works to just get 2nd bearing. I don't do enough rearends to have 1 of each sitting here.
  19. Do you enlarge the inside of the bearing so it slides on and off pinion easily to select shim? Thats how I was shown to do it by a rearend rebuilder at Zumbrota Bearing and Gear.
  20. I have not opened a secondary radiator petcock yet. I always take the hose off at the trans cooler. I think I will order and give it a try.
  21. I wouldnt chance it. We had a truck come in with a nice hole in timing cover and new belt and tensioner laying in fan shroud. Customer said the shop that put it on assured him that it would be ok. It was under a 1k miles before. Obviously I never seen it when they put the tensioner on.
