6R140 Shift Diagnosis
tonybullitt replied to Brad Clayton's topic in Driveline: Transmissions, Clutches and Axles
Nice write up and pics. Remember when we had to drop pan and get the id to order a solenoid when these trucks first came out? -
Did you know your blue point YA1140 sockets work on 2.0 ecoboost fuel lines also? I put a high pressure pump in one today and they work good to torque the 1 time use fuel line.

Sorry the pic sucks. I have had alot of trucks with this code in pcm. I am sure they are not modified trucks. Have you guys been seeing alot of trucks come in with this code also? Wonder why it sets it?

Found the cause. That is a broken torx bit stuck to the speed sensor. It is the correct size for the gears that move the shift rails. I assume it broke during assembly fell inside and caused the damage. Car has 3 miles on it. Must have made alot of noise when it happened. -

Had a quicklane guy doing a pdi come and get me says can you listen to this car. The trans growled something terrible (even with a tire rotated by hand). Checked fluid is full took sample out and had tons of glitter in it. Pulled trans tore down here is what I found.

Anyone ever work at an implement dealer?
tonybullitt replied to nelsona19's topic in The Water Cooler
I know guys at the local John Deere and they describe the same shit as working for ford at dealer. Times being lowered and drama about who gets what job. They are paid hourly with a incentive bonus on flat rate time. A lot of techs have left also for same reasons as ford techs -

I ran into that 1 time also. We contacted our ford rep and he got the # to the blue diamond warehouse and then we were able to get the part. It sure was a joke. -

6.7 p2459 frequent regen
tonybullitt replied to tonybullitt's topic in 6.7L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
They picked this truck up. I am convinced this thing is not finishing the regens for some reason. I was talking to the guy from the company that has the truck and told him i need more time on it and I can fix it. He said they are getting rid of it before it hits 100k so I may never find it. If the mil comes on again I may get to look at it again. The trucks are leased from enterprise. So they have a constant turn over of them. Any that have concerns and cause down time go back earlier.
