  1. I completly agree which is why I asked the question. It's been a long time since I did one and didn't wanna be unfair to either party.
  2. I got an 01 F350 that needs a set of injector cups. It's been a while since I did a set and I was never the one to write the quote. We got a new service manager and he ain't the greatest with diesel quotes. Anyone got any idea on how many hours I should be quoting?
  3. Today I had a Dorman vacuum pump on an 02 Super Duty that smells burned up and was very loud when it ran.
  4. It is possible to replace the intake manifold to front cover dounut on a 6.0 without removing the turbo or oil filter housing.
  5. Now that you mention it this one was harder than hell to get knocked apart. There was nothing that was rubber to do with this oil cooler that wasn't swelled or was squashed flat enough that it looked like oe gaskets with 200k on them.
  6. Customer bought a 6.0 sight unseen not knowing if it ran from an auction. They dragged it home and couldn't get it to crank due to a pos security system. Got it to crank, but it wouldn't start, found only 50 psi on the high pressure oil system. Pulled the ipr out and found a bunch of green rubber in the valve. Also noticed after it sat in the shop overnight that the egr cooler inlet hose was leaking. Finally got to tear it down today. I am shocked by what the gasket looks like. Even the rubber loop that is supposed to hold the screen down was bloated. I also noticed that all of the gaskets in this oil cooler are very flat.
  7. I have a couple of WDS units that found their way to me. They all have junk batteries and on 2 of them I got the 2217 error code and they seem to hang in the gray screen with the wds box at the top. I wasn't the one who did the updates and other maintence on them and I am having a hard time recalling the loading sequence. Does anyone happen to know if the error code is preventing them from fully loading?
  8. If the truck has a programer in it that is the way that hotline told me to do it when I want to reflash it.
  9. Had my first popped fuse on the cruise deactivation jumper harness. Too bad it was on my own truck.
  10. It was a ford add on system. I've used a key next to the cylinder to diagnois ford remote starts before.
  11. I understand that. I just figured that most of the new ones were gonna be similar.
  12. That actually worked? I had a 13 or 14 expedition that had an oe remote start put in that had a pinched wire for the ring that gets stuck to the pats transceiver. I pulled the pats transciever off of the cylinder and tried to remote start it with one of the key's stuck through it and it didn't work.
  13. I was only 8 points out of first. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I made it to the top. I guess I'll know on the 18th. I'm looking forward to it.
  14. That's actually a really good idea. I have one apart right now. The dummy bearings are stupid expensive.
  15. As far as I know I should be going this next year. I was in 3rd in my group after November and scored a 100% on December's test.
  16. Did you get to take your wife along?
  17. It's done. Now I just gotta figure out why I have no high beams.
  18. Not my bay at work... But my ranger I bought is getting a motor at a buddy's shop.
  19. Wow. I can't believe I just wasted 3 1/2 minutes of my life watching that moron. As far as I know and understand it's the exhaust valve gets baked from excessive egr flow and then it breaks off and trashes stuff not the glow plug failing first.
  20. I did one not that long ago in a 98 explorer.
  21. That's fair enough. I was just curious cause until I read about it on here I had never thought of lifting a cab on a F150 now I've done several and there is no way I'm going back to the other way.
  22. That's what I was wondering. Never heard it called that before.
