  1. Have had quite a few like that myself, unfortunately alot of them end up coming out in pieces.
  2. Just signed up, with your reference of course !
  3. Happy New Year, sitting in the shop looking at the clock, hurry up 12. Oh the joys of working 4 - 12
  4. Our manager in Truck Service has to get it stamped by the "Operations Manager" who WAS a tech back in the day, but is scared of his own shadow, and getting caught in more of his lies to Ford, with the upcoming audit review I think next month. Our mamager is good, just fix it, get the truck back on the road, but the ass slappin we always get has lost its appeal.
  5. We have been told absolutely no secondary repairs to be made with out a managers "add-on" stamp signed before the repair is made - no exceptions at all. Had a truck in Monday night ( 4-12 shift ), replaced #3 injector for customer concern of a misfire ( only job on the RO was for misfire), hot side CAC hose at turbo was about to fall off it was so badly deteriorated. To repair or not to repair; didnt want to buck the system, so no repair made. Manager road tests the next morning and Kaboom, hose flies apart on a long road test; truck has to be towed back. I get into work last night at 4 and get the " why wasnt it replaced" Just following the rules I say, last time I didnt have the managers stamp, I got raked over the coals. WTF !! Then for the kick while your down, we were informed that they decided yesterday that contrary to thefact that there has never been a night shift on New Years Eve, that the dealership is closing at 3 pm, but there is still a 4-12 shift, sorry for the 1 1/2 days notice, too bad if you had plans. Sorry for the rant and the hijack. Happy New Year
  6. Bring it on!! The plow is on the bike and the garage has awesome heat now !
  7. Just got the go ahead to do injector cups on a 6.0. Another shop just put 3 injectors in it after we diag'd it, but they must have went for coffee instead of tightening the injectors on reassembly. We fixed what you told us but now it quit going down the road !
  8. ditto to Keith. Just had one last week; high pitched rattle on decel.
  9. Ahhh, some days I long for an IDI or 2. Geez, just last week I was blessed with a 6.9, those were the days !
  10. Aaron, you are having too much fun ! All I have is a 07 LCF that decided it would be best to just idle its life away instead of me driving it. Just have to now figure out why I have no throttle response; pedal is ok.
  11. watch your FICM pids, had one that would stumble and smoke; Ficm m_power was dropping below 40v. Found poor connection at Ficm connector
  12. Don't forget to look at your DPF/OC. Just finished replacing a set on an '08 that had the engine replaced at another dealer 400 kms ago after catastrophic failure. Both pieces were completely hollow; burned completely out. As Hotline said, it looks like the other dealer forgot that part of the repair, no kidding !
  13. its great for lifting cabs, F650/750's, can be used in any bay, or even outside. 36000 lb capacity.
  14. After years of wishing, Santa finally came. We finally got a hoist for the Truck Shop, no longer do we have to steal a bay from the car shop to lift cabs. Very nice portable column system from Rotary. Posted a pic in PhotoPost, unsure how to post it here; maybe someone could help.
  15. Best of luck Aaron, hope all works out for you !
  16. I get to "visit" with this truck again Wed night, and am going to check some wiring first from a splice to the left bank injectors, then I am going to start from scratch with my own steps and results. Thanks
  17. Aaron, no they are dry, I was thinking timing off but it is only the LH bank that is dead. It is at another shop I help out at periodically, so when I go there I only have limited time and tooling to use.
  18. Misses on 4,5, & 6 constantly. Truck has had complete tune up, coil. Fuel pressure ok, has pulse at the injectors, spark, have tried a good pcm, compression is even across the board ( 125- 130 ) IIRC, exhaust has been dropped, new syncro. All this has been done at another dealer in the past month. It is now been dropped on my doorstep. Truck has 250,000 km on it, and I have rechecked all previous repairs and re- verified all readings and tests. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  19. Have seen rocker arm bridges pitted along with rocker arms where bridge contact is made cause a similar noise. Changed valve travel just enough to make the noise, but comp test and cutout tests showed everything ok. Good luck
  20. Last couple I did, charged 8 hours. Aaron , I see you have met some of our apprentices, as long as the hammer and vice grips were bought at a yard sale. 25 hours seems like a wee bit excessive, to keep repeat customers !
  21. We get 5 a year, can't carry them over. Use 'em or lose 'em.
