  1. Quote: Aren't we all able to remove a turbo in well under half an hour by now? Yeah but how fast can you do a HPOP reservoir oil change?
  2. Made the same post as Keith and he beat me to it! Anyway I have only replaced one noisy turbo on a cab and chassis. Other than that I haven't seen any.
  3. You didn't happen to see how much each system accepted did you? I always use only between 1/2 to a full gallon over system capacity so I can get an idea if the systems are actually full.
  4. Fuel/mechanical issues will not set primary ign. fault codes. The best way to check the circuitry is to use an led test light. The light will be green when grounded and red when powered. All you have to do is back probe the number 3 coil and start it up. If the ground side is switching rapidly from red to green then the PCM is driving! I would not condemn the PCM until you have verified this. In most cases it is the actual connection at the coil. Check for pins being spread and close them up tighter and put a dab of electrical grease in there. Here is a article on this very issue. http://www.forddoctorsdts.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=40179#Post40179
  5. Local used car dealer is known for hackery and shit cars wrapped in shiny new paint. When they bring a car to the dealer for repairs over their head they say, "we don't want it right, we want it tonight!"
  6. I haven't had the pleasure of not having the choice of cab off yet. Sounds like fun times ahead for ya. I would still "alligator" the nose of the cab up 5 or 6 inches if possible, gives tons of extra room.
  7. This the SSM I saw: Quote: OASIS SPECIAL SERVICE MESSAGE NUMBER: 21511 MESSAGE TITLE: 6.7L DIESEL FUEL FILTER SERVICE APPLICABLE VEHICLES : 2011 TRUCK : 00028 F-SERIES OASIS MESSAGE : 6.7L DIESEL EQUIPPED VEHICLES THAT EXPERIENCE A HARD START, LACK OF POWER, ROUGH RUN, MIL DTC P0087/P008A OR NOISE CONDITION AFTER FUEL FILTER SERVICE MAY INDICATE THAT AIR IS ENTERING THE SYSTEM THROUGH THE FILTER BOWL SEAL OR DRAIN. THE FILTER BOWL SEAL IS ON THE INLET SIDE OF THE DFCM AND CAN PROVIDE A PATH FOR AIR INGESTION. DO NOT REUSE THE DFCM FILTER HOUSING SEAL. REPLACE AND LUBRICATE THE FILTER BOWL SEAL WITH CLEAN DIESEL FUEL OR CLEAN ENGINE OIL TO PREVENT SEAL DAMAGE PRIOR TO INSTALLATION. TIGHTEN THE FILTER BOWL UNTIL IT CONTACTS THE MECHANICAL STOPS. TIP: THE WATER IN FUEL SENSOR AND THE WATER IN FUEL DRAIN SHOULD BE PERPENDICULAR TO THE FRAME RAIL WHEN FULLY SEATED. THEN, PURGE AIR FROM THE FUEL SYSTEM BY CYCLING THE IGNITION KEY 'ON' FOR 30 SECONDS AND THEN 'OFF' A TOTAL OF 6 TIMES PRIOR TO STARTING THE ENGINE.
  8. He's definitely due for a moderator override.
  9. Quote: The CVT doesn't bother me and my wife does not drive the car hard at all. We saw a few go bad in the beginning but in the last few years I have seen none come through the shop. Didn't I say we weren't gonna talk about this! Shhhhh, let's bury it deep down and never talk about it again.
  10. Three little letters.......C V T. But I don't want to jinx you so lets stop talking about it.
  11. Uhh, the fact that you own a Freestyle scares the hell out of me.
  12. I wouldnt take that thing out up here in Vermont, it be mighty difficult to keep the windshield defrosted!
  13. Wife wants to know what the fuck I'm laughing about so hysterically! That reporters expressions are classic.
  14. I PDI'd an Escape today and the hip hop channel on Siruis was playing a 8 song jam by The Beasties and It took me a minute to realize what was going on. Felt bad, it's a big loss to that genre of music and I always liked their funky jams.
  15. I could understand her point of view, that's way too much money for a blow job!
  16. Best wishes to you and everyone lookin out for ya. I hope most of it is in your rear view mirror now.
  17. Holy shite, what be ailin ya there buckaroo?
  18. '05 Freestyle, moon roof leak requiring headliner removal.. .....
  19. I can't find it now that I am looking for it. It has disappeared into cyber space.
  20. See it lot up here in the sticks. All the do-it-yourselfers don't get the primary fuel filter bowl tight. If it's backed off just a smidge it will make funky noises in the fuel system. There's a message about it on FMC.
  21. Ran into a good one the other day, 2003 F-350 no start. The IDM and PCM relays would chatter and had no communication with IDS. I hooked up the break out box and jumped the PCM relay to power and everything came on-line. Did some digging and found this: This is the central junction box. A new unit was swapped in and all was well. Note: problem occurred when a few too many lights were installed on the reverse lamp circuit.
