We are fortunate I guess we fix what needs to be fixed report be damned. We feel the customer is the one that needs to be happy with your performance not Ford.yet we are still below the curve 99% of the time and the warranty clerk gets upset. we were audited about two years ago after a spike of A/C work mid summer and the audit flag wasn't squashed by our "Rep" at the time (I won't start a tirade about affirmative action now) could have fixed it but She is stupid, so the stormtroopers came in for a week and left with nothing because we had our I's dotted and T's crossed. -
Sorry Anthony can't help with the part# I'll leave that to Larry. I will guess and say that you found the harness cut and corroded at the standoff where the Mexicans tie strap it so tight it smashes it and cuts the insulation, it won't short and blow the fuse because the standoff is plastic it just feaster's till it is green. I just repair the harness, the splice kit from ford works well but I usually supplement the crimps with a drop of solider then heat shrink them but any kind of repair will work as long as you protect it from the elements with a high quality double wall heat shrink.

gas in a 6.4 oh boy
eastendpowerstroke replied to jaysonfordtech's topic in 6.4L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
+ 1 on that here as well we usually to get three or so a year. I always tell the people what Ford states needs to be replaced then tell them we will drain the tank/tanks, flush lines, new filters, and oil then see were we stand 99% are just fine and have no longterm ill effects. Be fair on the labor but not shy make it worth wile for yourself. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbup.gif -
The first story was kinda Spielberg like, I'm hoping this one is more Walt Disney and less Rob Zombie.

I use a flame wrench to just cut them, my parts dept stocks the nuts and bolts. I find that one or more bolts break about 60% of the time so I don't want to play the odds. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/2cents.gif -

Here's a great thing you can do this Christmas
eastendpowerstroke posted a topic in The Water Cooler
I just got this e-mail and think it's a great idea so I figured I'd post it here. When doing your Christmas cards this year, take one card and send it to this address. If we pass this on to all of our friends and everyone sends one card, think of how many cards these wonderful special people who have sacrificed so much would get. ids supporting vista
eastendpowerstroke replied to kellyf's topic in Tools, Computers and the Internet
OK Joey I did that for one of my guys that has a Vista machine it did install but wont run because "a needed component is being blocked by a firewall" or something like that. I know windows pretty well but have never used Vista until I tried to install IDS for my guy. I read the trouble shooting guide and checked the firewall exceptions and they seem to be all there except the manual update exe. anything else I should be looking at????? BTW it's vista home I think? and for what its worth I think I officaly hate vista! -

Orifice bleed hose?
eastendpowerstroke replied to eastendpowerstroke's topic in General Diesel Engines
it doesn't leak at all, at some time I guess the schrader valve cap was lost so a plastic hole plug was just stuck over the end /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/hammer2.gif At least it has a cap.. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shrug.gifFWIW the truck does run good for it's "classic vintage" I was afraid that the missing hose may have been the cause of the leaks but it seem not to be the case so I didn't mess with the hose I'm just gun shy about old crap like that,it's working fine and has no issues don't fool with it!!! -
Orifice bleed hose?
eastendpowerstroke replied to eastendpowerstroke's topic in General Diesel Engines
Yeah cool huh /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rolleyes.gif Keith, the 90 degree 3/16 cap is D99 from ford so I just left well enough alone and fixed the leaks at the rest of the injectors. -
OK I have a 88 f-250 with many problem in my bay the one I need help with is at some time in the past somebody disconnected the hose from the fuel filter to the #1 injector return and capped it at the filter housing, and replaced the return cap with a single fitting. I'm replacing the orings because there leaking fuel should I return the hose to it's original routing or leave the Gennie in the bottle and leave it alone??? (Don't ask, Don't tell). It runs real good other wise

Ditto, the F-series don't fail nearly as offten as the LCF, they just eat the rings up on the dummy plugs no matter how the truck is used. I have a good mix of LCF's porta potty trucks, dump beds, flat beds, and dry goods box trucks some idle a lot some don't but all eat the rings up.
