eastendpowerstroke replied to DieselD's topic in The Water Cooler
garbage trucks, rendering trucks (used grease), fish trucks, Ive had them all but the worst was a Taurus wagon that broke down with a bunch of food ,raw meat.and stuff the people were giving the food to a friend before a month long trip to Europe when the car wouldn't start so they forgot the food and got a ride and had someone call to get the car fixed. The smell was indescribable!!!!!!!!!! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/puke.gif -
Your guys internet access
eastendpowerstroke replied to Tony302600's topic in Tools, Computers and the Internet
unlimited internet access but the sales people, advisor's, and service manager have ADP WBT (windows based terminals) that are unable to store anything (no hard drives). the pc's in the shop are setup with limited user accounts so nothing can be installed unless you can log into an admin account and good anti virus software. but the shops never been the problem at the dealership, it's the sales people that screwed up the pc's the sales people all had pc's, took about 8 months until the last one standing was so screwed up from porn sight virus's and spy ware they wouldn't even boot up now all sales people have dummy terminals. -
Loose Spool Valve Nut
eastendpowerstroke replied to Keith Browning's topic in 6.0L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
Great something else to look for. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/surprise.gif I don't think I have ever even looked at that nut in the past. -
The best I can remember it went something like this... "David at Lucas Ford, you seem to have had some trouble with your connection you may need to call the fordstar help desk"

MDTRUCK/IDS AND IC4 ADAPTERS.
eastendpowerstroke replied to OHNO60's topic in Tools, Computers and the Internet
I use my Compaq laptop with a converter with MD truck and ET. I have this converter Converter on Ebay but with a short cable about two inches. install the comverter and go to control panel, system, device manager, ports, select the converter then port setings, advanced and then set it to com 1, with the IC4COM works fine for me. -
Tricking IDS by Mimicking XP Pro
eastendpowerstroke replied to Bruce Amacker's topic in Tools, Computers and the Internet
I bought a $350 2.8 ghz Compaq laptop locally from a guy on craigslist.org I have a good friend that works as a network admin for a school district so a copy of XP pro with a corporate license fell out of his bag "accidentally" one day. It runs IDS faster than the toughbook and also MD truck and CAT ET using a USB to serial converter. A touch screen would be nice but I'm not 20 years old anymore and looking a pid data and graphs on a 15 inch screen as opposed to a 12 inch helps out a bit. -
Warranty extension on 6.0?
eastendpowerstroke replied to G. Bedford's topic in 6.0L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
the Duramax is an ISUZU engine I always get a kick from telling my friend that his "heartbeat of America" truck has a Japanese engine. Quote: The Duramax Diesel 6600 is produced in Moraine, Ohio. The GM / Isuzu relationship is growing stronger daily, with a commitment from both companies to remain dedicated to continually improving the quantity and quality of GM diesel powered pickup trucks. In terms of diesel engine production, Isuzu is poised to become the dominant diesel engine provider in North America. When it comes to diesel engines, General Motors relies on Isuzu to provide the most technologically advanced diesel power. The introduction of the new Duramax Diesel 7800 is showing the world that together they can design and build competitive, powerful, and reliable diesel engines for use around the world. GM is committed to using Isuzu diesel power in all its trucks. Offering an additional advantage for GM customers of "One Stop Shopping" for all parts, service, maintenance, and repairs. The GM dealer is certified, equipped, and ready to handle all Isuzu maintenance, repair, and service needs. -
NETS Programming
eastendpowerstroke replied to Keith Browning's topic in Tools, Computers and the Internet
All tho I don't get lot of chances to use NETS I have reflashed a dozen or so trucks, lcf's mostly 95% of my 650's and 750's are CAT's never had a corrupt file. and I haven't flashed any since the buzzbomb annoyance.. -
Quote: No kidding... I was 12 when that beast was built! HA I was getting out of high school I'm slightly ashamed to admit it but I had the same problem with a C/V about a two years ago the car would come back about every 1 to 1-1/2 months with the plug fouled. it belonged to an old guy who drove it less than 1k a year and because I didn't want to make the poor old buzzard pay a lot of money to revamp the PVC hoses (I had replaced the screen) I got one of those "ALDOR" plugs that "fire in oil" from the parts store and put it in. The good news is that car still ran great about two months ago when it had a safety and emissions inspection, but the bad news is I just read the guys obituary in the paper today. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rotz.gif

LCF BUZZ BOMB FLASH?
eastendpowerstroke replied to eastendpowerstroke's topic in 4.5L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
well good to know I'm putting injectors in an LCF and was considering a reflash but if thats the case I won't -
Testing on an F650 or an LCF for hp oil leaks the PPT says to use the breakout harness from the kit and power it with 12v but it does offer this warning. Quote: "CAUTION: Do not leave the IPR valve energized longer than 120 seconds. This can damage the IPR valve." So either way is acceptable,I guess it's a matter of preference or ease of access to the IPR as you know it's real easy on a Econoline or LCF but on a F-350, not so much .. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rolleyes.gif

TSB 07-7-7 6.4L - EXHAUST SMOKE FROM FRONT OF VEHI

07-7-7 huh.... can't find it???? -
it just so happens that I had a can of BG CF5 "carbon fighter" floating around so last week I had a friends truck in with a blown HG (6.0L) so I had pulled the EGR to check the cooler before I shot from the hip and did the HG's the valve was carboned up pretty good, since the cooler checked out I was into a HG job so I stuck the CARBONED UP EGR valve in a can of the "CARBON FIGHTER" that will "remove carbon deposits" while I did the HG's. after two days it did a great of making the carbon wet the same results could have been had with a glass of water or my coffee I never get to finish. so after I dug the wet carbon out with a screwdriver, carb cleaner, wire brush I reinstalled it. when I asked the BG guy he said " DIESEL CARBON IS NOT THE SAME AS GASOLINE CARBON AND THE CF5 IS FOR GAS ENGINES " As I have said it's just a wallet flush for the customer please see my last rant on the subject BG Rant

I got one of those red catsup squirt bottles for trans work, but for injectors I just use a rinsed out coffee cup full of the bulk oil from the pumper to dip the injectors in then dump it and toss it out when I'm done because if it is on my bench I'll spill it every time..

I'm guessing your not along time ford guy huh?Jacques Nasser(jerk nazzer , Jack the knife) was the CEO of Ford from Jan 0f 1999 to 10 of 2001 and is directly responsible for the poor state of the company now. a few key facts courtesy of wikipeda.com... Throughout Nasser's tenure, there were serious concerns about his abrupt, sometimes abrasive management style and treatment of subordinates. It has also been said that Nasser's tough business practices and hard-nosed manners unsettled and alienated Ford's supplier network, dealerships, and most notably, its employees. Nasser diverted most of management's attention to new initiatives and lost focus on the core business of making great automobiles, critics argue. He also implemented a controversial management performance review system that alienated and divided the management. After leaving Ford, Nasser became a senior partner in One Equity Partners, a subsidiary of Bank One. After the bankruptcy of Polaroid Corporation and its eventual acquisition by One Equity, Mr. Nasser served as Polaroid's non-executive chairman and oversaw its restructuring from 2002 to 2005. Three and a half years after filing for Chapter 11, Polaroid was sold to Petters Group Worldwide for $426 million. Chairman Nasser and CEO J. Michael Pocock walked away with $12.8 million and $8.5 million, respectively. More than 4,000 retirees, meanwhile, received one-time checks for $47, and lost their medical and life insurance benefits.

Bellow is the perfect Ambulance, photos of F-SD ambulance it's 4X4 F-450 it does have air ride rear suspension I was going to get pics of it but the battery's gave out in the digi cam. the "joint" between the cab and box is a rubber boot and it doesn't look to bad to get the cab off. I'll get more pics in the morning.
