lookie here "PowerStroke 6.4-liter Diesel March 1, 2007 Navistar International Transportation Company has been ordered by the court to resume building and shipping the 6.4L PowerStroke diesel. Earlier in the week, they had announced they were stopping production. Ford has always honored its agreements with Navistar, and will continue to take the necessary steps to resolve this issue. The Kentucky Truck Plant is operating on one shift today, and will be closed tomorrow. Production will resume on Monday, and the plant will return to its regular operation schedule as quickly as possible. We'll update you when we can provide additional information." if you think they were going to be problematic before wait till we start getting "COURT ORDERED" engines /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbup.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/hitthefan.gif

oil filter and EGR valve are different but the fuel filters the same the injectors and the hp oil tube seals, icp sensor, ipr valve , ect are interchangeable with FSD/6.0L parts in a pinch the motorcraft "premium" wipers are universal any way and cheaper to the customer so I just use them when needed not sure about the air filter gotta go look at one

That's just to funny....I replyed to a post on fmc in tech to tech asking about LCF's and any problems I said almost exactly the same thing. My reply----"it does share many parts with the 6.0L the good news it that since it's not realy a FORD, it's a blue diamond truck all the parts come from them and will take two days longer to get when it does break." /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif I guess great minds think alike

6.0 AMBULANCE HEAD JOB
eastendpowerstroke replied to kevin phillips's topic in 6.0L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
Ha good luck, if you have the equipment I think it would be much easier to pull the engine out and do the head. You can hardly get the valve cover off in chassis much less any thing else. I feel bad for you man, work like that on a minibus or ambulance will make you want to set yourself on fire. -
PERSONAL 6.0L FIASCOES
eastendpowerstroke replied to Brad Clayton's topic in 6.0L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
I've never replaced a badly chafed engine harness on a minibus with dual ALT, extra A/C compressor, heater hoses ,stupid wiring every were, can' get the dog house off without a sawzall because ,the a$$-clowns screwed the floor to close to it, grab handles in the way door handle in the way, radio, and anything else that makes you so angry ya just want to break stuff....... TO GET IT ALL DONE AND IT WON'T START!!!! Well after throwing stuff and kicking it till my foot hurt I checked this and that for a while untill I "screwed my head on straight" to find out I never plugged in the IPR. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/blush.gif -
I'll have to check the price "over the counter" I remember that I had an LCF and the parts guy handed me the IH/blue diamond boxed filter it looked exactly the same so I got a Motorcraft boxed 6.0L filter to compare them no difference to the eye ,the parts guy told me the IH/BD cost more /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shrug.gif

I noticed quite a while ago the the filters are identical except for the price the 4.5L blue diamond filter cost more than a motorcraft 6.0L filter. As far as the eye can tell it's the same filter, plus the 4.5L engine uses the exact same injectors as a 6.0L why would it have a different spec filter.

BG diesel inj. flush
eastendpowerstroke replied to mtuttle43's topic in Fuels - Oils - Additives - Chemicals
We refer to our BG trans flush machine as the floor flusher because inevitably a line pops off or a valve is open and most of the fluid ends up on the floor, the offending tech is then forced to display the name CAPT. HAZELWOOD on there shirt for the day. My opinion is that it's all snake oil /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/2cents.gif -

6.4L Training Tips & Pointers
eastendpowerstroke replied to Keith Browning's topic in 6.4L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
Also the Fuel cooling system pump runs at all times with the key on and can run up to 10 min after the key is off if necessary. The high pressure fuel pump gear retaining bolt is left hand thread. The M.O.E.(marvel of engineering) to remove the EGR valve has two "jaws" that are labeled L + R from standing in front of the engine not L= drivers side R= pass side. If you loosen a fuel line anyware on the hige pressure side IT MUST BE REPLACED!!! Most of the fastners used on the engine are one time use and must be replaced. -

Why did you replace the ALT on the van?? if you only got R&R time you missed a bunch 10200ab .4 alt ckt test 10346a 1.1 R&R Alt 10346azm .1 Extra time to disconnect/connect frame mounted battery (if it had one) 10654c 1.2 Battery Test, Charge, and Re-Test (if Alt wasn't charging gotta charge the batts) 6007azw .1 clean cac tube (gotta take it off to R&R alt gotta clean it to reinstall it) thats 2.9 hrs your clerk paid you 1.1, you and the shop lost out on 1.8 hrs!! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif The pen is mightier than the wrench, obviously your story would need to support the op's I generally look up my own labor ops on large time consuming jobs and write them on the RO next to my story. the warranty clerk knows how to use a pen not a wrench most don't know how to use SLTS for that matter. so I'm already in to it for many hours the extra 15 min or so to shake the labor op tree only helps make me and the shop more.

6.4 Driving Impressions
eastendpowerstroke replied to Bruce Amacker's topic in 6.4L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
I'll probably do the web class 12/15 at about 9:00 pm from home then as soon as I can course request the classroom I will. While I think it's great that guys like Bruce are getting info from official sources, ride and drives, and skid motors ect. we can't even get a web based training available to us as FORD techs until 16 days before the engine supposedly goes into production and don't get me started on classroom training some of my techs have course requests for basic classes over 1 1/2 years old, NY has 1 classroom and 1 full time instructor so how soon do ya think we'll see that diesel class. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/2cents.gif Glad to see Ford roll out the red carpet for somebody I just wish it was for the guys that have to fix it right the first time. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/mad.gif
