  1. I dislike the cold but I am ready for this long as summer to be over with...We are still low 80s out here in AZ. We have long summers naturally but this one has been hanging on with all its got. Been a long time since its been 80* for a high in Dec.
  2. I had to work on one of these things once..... I wanted to stab myself in the eye with a rusty screwdriver before it was said and done. IIRC it was kinda a cluster fuck to get support on the thing and we had field service guys out every other day helping us toss parts at it trying to get it fixed.
  3. We actually brought this the the adjusters attention and everything is going through a body shop. The are fully aware of how its getting repaired and paid
  4. I did a few transmissions in LCFs but all for water ingestion. They would do some weird crap depending on how bad the water ingestion was. Depending on the body that was installed they would tend drip water right on the dipstick conveniently left unseated by the customer....
  5. Insurance companys are not the brightest. For example....our pickup that got plowed in the bed forward of the rear wheel by a motorcycle. They quoted replacement of the inner and outer bedsides, respraying the bedliner, fixing the floor and bulkhead, and paint was double or triple what a brand new takeoff bed would have cost. They cut us a check for the repairs and I went out and bought a brand new take off bed for 1100bucks that will be 10times better then any body man can fix the original wrecked bed.
  6. I think your spot on here. knowing how dumb some people are they wouldn't be able to figure out what to do if their engine shutdown on its own. I think at most you would get a warning and a stop engine message then prevent a restart but I do not know the answer on the 6.7 oil switch condition
  7. Diesel is going up with gas slowly dropping out here in az
  8. How you guys hanging out there this am? watched the news this am it appears to be a giant mess out east...
  9. Best of luck guys. I can only imagine the havic this kinda of weather causes. The elements are one thing but people being retarded are another.

    FICM Pricing

FYI Ford is going to start offering FICMs pre-programmed to a particular year....no PMI required. Just slap the puppy in and go to town.
  11. Whats a fair price for that APCM guys?
  12. That would be servicemaxx software. I believe aaron is looking for the old MD software I might have a old IDS disc floating around somewhere. I think its a version in the mid 40s Well I know I do just a matter of where it went
  13. I actually have a new/used APCM I might be interested in selling.... I found it new in box in a shed here at work. I installed it into my 7.3 to verify it actually worked but its just taking up space there and making people go "WTF is that?" Kinda neat to raise the idle up if I so desire but practical use is slim to none in a truck without a pto
  14. Pretty common actually and Keith is right even it it does come out of the degas bottle it isnt going to make it past that plastic T
  15. Been hearing this was on the horizon for a while now...why cant we just leave well enough alone? I love the name too by the way. Seriously they couldn't come up with something more creative then "1234"
  16. Tire prices go up by the day it seems. I put smaller tires on my F350 cause I got sick of paying for 35" tire on a daily driver/tow rig. Then my dumb ass goes buys a raptor that sits on $300ea tires. I wish I was lucky enough to get behind the wheel of a gt500, or maybe not cause keeping your foot off the floor would be hard! Think yours tires are expensive? just be glad you dont need some of these puppy's at almost 50k each.
  17. Its been at least a year if not more since that happened. I still change them regardless.
  18. best move I made getting into the fleet side of things outside of a dealer. I would do your homework on the fleet you are considering before making the leap however
  19. I am just running strobes and work lights which are mostly LED lighting. No need for a giant genset or inverter to run 110v lights to change truck tires on the side of the highway....
  20. I will only use Streamlight flash lights. I have rocked the stinger series for years before they become LED. I converted mine old halogen work horse over to the LED kit which worked well. It was not quite as good as the factory streamlight stinger LED but close. I have found a new winner in my book as of late....Its a streamlight strion and is smaller and a shit ton brighter then my LED stinger. It takes all kinds of abuse. Its 100bucks on amazon http://www.amazon.com/Streamlight-74301-...eamlight+strion Also do not buy streamlight from the tool guys, They are always waaaay higher then it can be had at amazon. for example I know my tool guy sells this version for about $175-180 http://www.amazon.com/Streamlight-STL756...amlight+stinger for those of you with a stinger and want to convert it for cheap this is the way to go http://www.amazon.com/TerraLUX-TLE-ST1-U...amlight+stinger
  21. Of course it would be fused and relayed as needed if I modify it, The same can not be said to past builds before I came on board. As far as the battery getting run down it happens now on trucks with or without. They are going to get switches of some sort no matter what. I have even had them kill the batterys with the upfitter switches. The driver kept cycling the key after the battery saver kicked in. Most guys are pretty good about shutting their strobes/beacons and work lights off when done using them. I am installing mostly LED work lights and strobes now to aid in the battery loads however there are times when they need to have their lights on for several hours. Its simply a waste to idle the truck for that long for nothing but running some work lights. I also believe there are aftermarket options for battery minders that will warn via back up alarm then shut down the accessory when battery voltage drops below a threshold
  22. So here is a valid concern/question... I completely understand why the up-fitters are wired to KOEO power to avoid a accidental battery drain when the vehicle is sitting there. However what I am noticing with our fleet is the guys will leave the truck running rather then shutting it off then turning the key back on to ACC. Not to mention sitting there with the key on running the upfitters is not much better on battery drain. I am trying to lower the idle times on these trucks without PTOs and the upfitters only working with the key on seem to keep coming up in the discussion. Remember our guys are tire guys that are not always the brightest so I can try and educate them until blue in the face but it will not make a difference. So my question is what are your guys thoughts on "hotwiring" for lack of better term to allow the up fitters to operate at all times? This is really no different then blowing a hole in the dash and wiring a toggle switch which I hate btw! From the looks of the wire schematic CBP42 from the SJB needs battery voltage and not ACC voltage, a simple reroute might be the trick.....
  23. PB Blaster has been the best I have found. Works awesome on rust(Yes we do get a few eastwest cars through our doors here in AZ!)
  24. God that thing is hideous looking. It has some really big shoes to fill to take the place of the econolines. They are still doing the cutaways e-serious for the ambos, ryder trucks, etc?
