This leaves us with no Fuckin FICM's in stock and contantly on backorder. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/whattodo.gif We are only to order two a weak and it doesn't matter if we emergency order them either. WTF?
-
Hmmmm, Nope! But, you could fill out your warranty stories and code everything on a Sick-0 with the code D4 (Flaw in Material). /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/flamethrower.gif And not even really be lying.

I believe that the truth is different for all of us based on different clientel, fleets, servicing intervals, operating conditions, etc. I fail Engine oil coolers all the time. I have seen many as high as 60 degrees farenheight hotter than ECT. I also believe that it is the carbon from blown headgaskets that is plugging the engine oil coolers once the combustion enters the cooling system along with (in some cases) lack of maintenace. We all live and work in different conditions and locations. Therefore, we all may see different types of failures. With the new 15 degree factor, I will be able to replace every freakin engine oil cooler on every damned truck I work on now. ohhhh yeaaaaaayyyyy! You know, I would also bet money that if these Sick-o's were equipped with coolant filters and those filters were sent in for analysis when we are doing these major repairs, we get results back showing there is a significant amount of carbon entering the cooling system.

Awsome site Mutter. Right after you posted the link, I put it into my Favourites and will visit it regularily now. Has anyone caught on to, or payed attention to how this TSB 08-26-12 contradicts TSB 08-11-03? Read step 7.c. in 08-26-12. It states: If EOT exceeds ECT by 15 degrees F, replace the oil cooler. In TSB 08-11-03, they say to replace the oil cooler if EOT exceeds ECT by 25 degrees. I think I see another revised TSB coming down the pipe.

Bretherin: What da hell does it loook like? Me: Red! The same stuff you put in the automatic transmission! Bretherin: Ohhhh! Not 80/90? Me: No, not 80/90! Red Mercon! Bretherin: Ohhh, well maybe dats why da Sun A Bitch won't go inta four wheel drive den Hugh? Me: Uhhhh, Yeah! Bretherin: Well tanks, I tink I will go get dat 80/90 outa da t-case den, O.K? Me: Yeah, you go do that. See ya. And shaking my head in total amazement and laughin me ars off. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/icon_crazy.gif Not that this may or may not have been the cause of their issue, but I just wanted to end the call as fast as possible. -

Everyone should read TSB 08-26-03. It is nothing most of us Frozen Cannucks didn't know about already. However, it does absolutely nothing to help us diagnose Cold stiction in faulty injectors even though we don't really have much of a hard time picking out a faoulty injectors. I do agree that these cold injectors will make a FICM have a brain fart especially in -40C weather. I also beleive that the Inductive heating strategy takes it's toll on the FICM's, But so will base Battery voltage. I had one twoo weaks ago that would start missing under load and the FICM M-Power would drop to 30 volts under load and the engine would start missing. I could get it to miss by loading it up in the shop. But I noticed that when I had my battery charger on it, the M-power wouldn't drop and the engine wouldn't miss. Turned out both batteries were crap. Replaced both batteries and the truck ran like a dream. I do also agree with Bruce that sticking a computeror module with circuit boards and drivers and transisters in it on top of a cooking grenade is just a plain stupid engineering design. I guess we could just chalk the whole issue up to one Big piss poor design flaw after another with repeated piss poor attemps with design flaws in the attempts to repair this piss poor design flaw. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/coffee.gif

snow filled filters
DwayneGorniak replied to JAKE_MORSE's topic in 6.0L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
It's TSb 08-04-08. You stick a big black garbage bag or winter front if you want to calll it that on the grill. There have been many reports of this not working because the snorkle or shit scoop sucks the snow up from behind the headligh and the opening in the front of the wheel well where the tire kicks it all up. So what I have been doing under retail is removing the snorkle completely and all my customers have been happy as hell. they even suck in less dust in the summer time and don't have to replace the filters as often. And....they are still running the factory air filter so that they will not void warranty. -
Ahhh fuck it, go for the gusto. Just kiddin. Anywho, wait and see what will happen before anyone jumps to conclusions. However, If they do debit you or the apprentice back, print this off and hand it to you Service Manager and Warranty Clerk. What kind of fucking idiot has the right to charge either you or your apprentice back for a piss poor decision that was made by a sevice advisor? This is the kind of bullshit that makes techs leave their shithole jobs in shit hole places like that. If they would pull their heads out of their asses and take a deep breath of fresh air, they may be able to see that this is part of the reason that it is hard to find good techs these days. Idiots if they charge you back I must say. O.K. rant over, beer swallowed and blood pressure declining. All is goooooodddd!

08 pass exhaust manifold leak
DwayneGorniak replied to kevin phillips's topic in 6.4L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
Yeah, I'm aware of that Keith. And as nice is it is to see some of them help out with great input, I would hope that they aren't like the warranty Nazi's and report all the tricks back to the mothership. But then again, I may have high hopes. -
08 pass exhaust manifold leak
DwayneGorniak replied to kevin phillips's topic in 6.4L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
This has always been my theory: There is nothing wrong with a shortcut if it does not jeopardize the quality of a repair. However, if the quality of the repair is to be jeopardized by taking a shortchut, then don't freakin do it. If we don't want the warranty nazi's to catch on to our tricks and shortcuts, then let's all shut our damned pie holes on sites like the Protech Message board or what you folks have down south witch would most likely be FMC Dealer. If folks keep posting shortcuts on these sites, the warranty nazi's will most definately keep penalizing us financially for it. These procedures that make us more efficient are best posted right here in this wonderful site that Keith has created for us. Thankyou once again Keith. -
Check out this load of crap: http://ca.news.finance.yahoo.com/s/08122...un-30-cent.html It is true that we payer higher prices than folks down in the U.S. But read the story and then explain how we can ship the fuel from Canada and have the U.S pay less based on what the loser for the Petrolium institute is saying.

No one else weighing in on this one? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shrug.gif I wonder what is going to happen with the coalition seeing as Dion stepped down due to pressure from the rest of his party. What a bunch of losers.

A sign that I had emailed to me: NOTICE This Department requires no physical Fitness program. Everyone gets enough exercise Jumping to Conclusions, Flying off the handle, Running down the boss, knifing friends in the back, dodging responsibility and pushing their luck.

I should refraze that al ittle. I was only trying to point out the fact that we are not the only poluters and that other folks and nations have a hand in this as well. But, let me ask this: what else are you going to do with an oil soaked soil? I agree that we should look for a better way to refine, but at the same time most of these critcs are purchasing the byproducts of this mess to support their own way of life.

Keep in mind also that MOST of the oil companies in Canada are owned by U.S oil companies. And they are the ones digging in our backyard.

I'm not sure if this will be an issue with Keith or not being that we are worried about viruses coming from YouTube. But I think a link won't affect Keith's site as it will open a new tab for whoever clicks on it anyway. This is the link to the video that Keith had originally posted: -

Wheewwww. I was thinking that I may have had a real bad case of hoof in mouth disease again. I have been known to chew on my own feet once in a while in case no one's ever noticed. That was just completely unacceptable on your behalf and also scary thinking that you may have taught this less fortunate soul what he really knows. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/whew.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eeeesh.gif
