  1. Slim, I have a Dell Latitude. But when I was at Fourlane, they had a Toughbook with a Belkin card in it. The Belkin card worked great. But we had to remove the door from the Toughbook. We just took out the little screws and removed the door.
  2. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/surprise.gif Ohhhhh mannnn, don't make me go through that again. That was like Chinese Torture. Mohommy please make the big bad man go away! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crybaby2.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/boink3.gif
  3. For those of you who are tired of paying for Antivirus protection. When you download this, I recommend clicking the second downoad link which is two lines down from the forst download link and it says: Download AVG Free (AVG Server). Here's the link: http://free.avg.com/download?prd=afe
  4. Woww, this sure is alot of talk about a whole lot of other stuff that is a affected by a block heater as well as Jim's patience. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/poke.gif Hey Jim, I'm thinkin of makin my own modified trouble light, but I'm not sure wether I should use an LED or flourescent light. How bright would each one light if had them modified in series? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif Maybe we'll have to indulge into a bottle over this invention hugh? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif
  5. I use it every day and wouldn't want to be without it. Man, I love bein able to have no wires between the VCM and Laptop. Especially when I'm doing air pressure tests on the high pressure systems, I can just throw the laptop on top of the rad support or fan shroud and do my active commands and see what's going on right in front of me. No tripping on cords or jumping over them. It has been absolutely great.
  6. Okay, maybe I have been drinking too much lately. But has anyone ever played with the numbers on the torque calculator?: http://www.forddoctorsdts.com/publications/torque_adapter_calculation.pdf I use this calculator all the time. But I have noticed that if you increase the length of the torque wrench and leave the adaptor length and the torque spec the same, the torque calculation increases. The apprentice I used to work with had a fancy shmansy Snap-on digital vibrating make your wife happy torque wrench. It was 13.5 inches long from the center of the anvil to the center of the handle. My old beat up click type Snappy torque wrench is 10.25 inches long from the center of the anvil to the center of the handle. The end spec for my wrench with the torque spec set at 8.8 and my adaptor at .8" is 8.2 foot pounds. But if increase the length to 13.5, the end result increases to 8.3 foot pounds. So with that being said, shouldn't a longer torque wrench with more leverage decrease the end result of what you set your torque wrench at? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/scratchhead.gif
  7. I just had to renew this thread to change the pace from all of the world issues lately. Here's some pick up lines from Saskatchewan (where I'm from), enjoy: Did you fart? cuz you blew me away. My Love fer you is like diarrhea. I can't hold it in. Is there a mirror in yer pants? cuz I can see myself in em. If you was a tree & I was a Squirrel, I'd store my nuts in yer hole. You might not be the best lookin girl here, but beauty's only a light switch away. I know I'm not no Fred Flintstone, but I bet I can make yer bed-rock. I can't find my puppy, can you help me find him? I think he went inta this cheap motel room... Yer face reminds me of a wrench, every time I think of it, my nuts tighten up.
  8. Don't feel bad. I've been der dun dat and made many mistakes and not so great decisions in my life. But I survived them all. And you just keep on learning, But at least you had the gonads to go and try it out. How many folks can say that? Some folks are so afraid of change that they live in a little bubble all their lives and never know anything different and will be absolutely miserable and disappointed with everything around them their whole lives. Like I've said before, You will never know unless you try. Good luck to ya. and may the wind push you the rest of the way home cause God knows how much them big U-hauls suck for fuel. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/drinkingdude.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif
  9. The problem with a multimetre is you can have only one or two strands of wire making contact in a block heater cord and still get a good resistance reading.
  10. We have a block heater tester like that too. But I sometimes just use a 12 volt test light. Hook the alligator clip of your test light to positive on the battery and ground on terminal of the block heater cord to metal on the vehicle and stick the pointy end of the test light into the other terminal of the block heater cord. If your test light lights, then you have continuity. The test light won't be extremely bright though due to the resistance in the block heater.
  11. Hu hu hu hu hu hu hu hu! Wew jus fuckin tame wittow sheep wit to much twust in owa so cawld shephads who sometimes fawl asweep aftew a warge meal of wamb chops. hu hu hu hu hu.
  12. I can't remember when these things weren't popping like pop corn. Man I don't think I could count how many Iv'e done. However, They do seem to fail more when it's really hot out or then obviously when winter hits here and those frozen FICM drivers have a brain fart and nearly sh!t themselves trying to fire those wonderfully engineered injectors. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eeeesh.gif
  13. With that amount of work involved, I think it would just be alot easier to lift the cab.
  14. I've done about eight or nine already. Keep in mind that up here we see lots of codensation and snow. So the bolts are not only tight from the locktite, but also rusty as hell. They also have a tendency to retain water in the threads which makes the rust even worse. I have had water pour down my arms after loosening a few of these bolts. Anyone remember the Taurus/Sable subframe bolt recall back in about ohhhh 95', 96'? They still haven't learned.
  15. What exactly are you getting at? What exactly do you mean by "haughty dealer techs look down their noses at the indies"?
  16. Are all the requirements for activation met? Park brake indicator coming on when park brake is applied? Is the neutral safety switch actually reading park in park or neutral if it is a standard? And are there any dtc's in the PCM?
  17. Now, I'm curious. What did I miss. Keith, I hear you drink some real funny drink that I can't even spell.
  18. Anyone know this ole guy? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grampy-jim.gif I now work with him. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/icon_crazy.gif I didn't want to say much untill I proved myself. But, I feel pretty comfortable already.
  19. No, I heat them up first and I still get the odd cage nut that spins. But a Makita drill is a piece of garbage compared to a Millwaukee. I've been watchin E-Bay and I'm gonna buy me one yet.
  20. Yeah no kiddin, Huh? All you have to do is read the Protech message board to figure it out.
  21. Has anyone done the new F-150 New Model Training yet? You should see the crap they are incorporating into the systems now. Tool tracking and all that crap.
  22. That is just freakin Nasty. Hard to get motivated when you've got somthin that crappy to look forward to in the mornins, Hugh?
  23. WTF were they thinking? What if you just put jack stands under the rear of the unit and tell your employer to go pound sand? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif
  24. Now that we are on the topic of Premium Gold in 7.3L's, some of the later model 01', 02' and 03' 7.3L's came factory equipped with Premium gold in the cooling systems. Did the injector cups change up at some point, or were they the same all the way from 99' to 03'?
