    New Fuel Filters?

Yes, part numbers changed, and my SM e-mailed me that document and a little info on this on friday. Sorry I been outta the loop for so long It's dated fairly recently, because the pricing structure changes in a week or two, if I recall rightly in the paperwork I have in my toolbox.
  2. Whoops... Thanks Alex Alex Bruene B1342 DONWAY FORD SALES LTD SCARBOROUGH , ON posted Mar 12, 2010 8:22PM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- That is the updated tube. They've been using them on 4.5s for a couple of years now, I've been wondering how long it would take to apply to 6.0s. You can't get "dummy plug" seals anymore either. The seals change up to a new plug that has the teflon seals on them. So, any idea as to the benefits of this? And the last standpipe I bought stand-alone had the regular style seals on it, maybe this is a REALLY new deal, since this is a 20mm dowel kit and the package date on the box was fairly recent.
  3. Doing heads on a 2007 F-450. Stand pipe that came in the new cylinder head set has a scarf-cut Teflon seal underneath the D-ring at the second position from the top, right after the check valve. Any ideas why this has changed? It appears that if you removed this ring, the D-ring would flop around in there big time, so it appears to be a backer/blocking ring of some sort. However, that ring, when compressed with your fingers, is larger than the D ring on the stand pipe. Also this standpipe requires a 12mm hex to drive it as opposed to the customary 10mm or 1/2 square. Hotline has never seen/heard of this.

    New Fuel Filters?

Anyone see the bulletin? 6.0 and 6.4 new fuel filters. There's an O ring at the opposite end of the filter to keep it from bypassing when it gets plugged. My apologies if this has been posted somewhere else already.
  5. That's all I was wondering, Jim. Surprisingly enough, living 10 minutes from the US border, I can't remember a specific instance where I ran into this problem, the only reason I asked is because my super duty hit 36,000mi this week, when I flicked it over to KM's it was only around 58. So I just wondered what the deal was. Surprisingly, my "warranty blues" list is quite short.
  6. GENERAL PROCEDURES Body Retainer Cage Nuts WHY GOD WHY!!!!!!!!!!
  7. With the trans out, does the engine tilt back slightly and bind up on the exhaust? Maybe if you put a stand under the oil pan it would help some?
  8. I believe the owner's manual states a service life of 492,000kms?
  9. Did you get an okay to switch the PDF instructions Keith? Also, you don't need to remove the cab or damage the heat shield when you do head bolts. The one I just did, I didn't even need any special tools, and I studded it.
  10. I believe that is referred to as "See ya in hell, ya rat bastard" backorder, as so gracefully stated by another member here. And thanks for the updated number FordRacer. I like the idea of 70psi and 55-60 with the valve open!
  11. Depending on the composition of the screen, it may not be magnetic. I would expect it to be stainless, but it may be a composition of stainless that does not have high magnetic properties.. http://www.wisegeek.com/is-stainless-steel-magnetic.htm

    7.3 sending units

Try a radiator shop, that's where I got the last ones I put in an 86 E-super duty motorhome.

  14. It will get warm (ambient) soon and the problem will really manifest itself.
  15. I don't know if the body mounts/motor mounts/etc are any different, but I have a 07 F-450 or 550 apart right now and there is TONS of room at the rear on the driver's side head bolt. This one had to be done cab on since there is a dump box over top of the cab. I took that bolt out with a standard breaker bar and mastercraft 18mm chrome socket. Nothing special to it at all. I'm wondering if this is any different access wise because it's a cab & chassis or what.
  16. Thanks man! Don't see too many Mariners up here in Canada, and even less with condenser failures!
  17. Not that it's ever happened to me, that is.
  18. When a feller gets asked, "Who you gonna please with a little dick like that" the only response needs to be a grin, and a response like "THIS GUY" while pointing at self.
  19. 209 is still awful hot for your ambient temperature... I know it's a 6.4, but my truck won't even hit 209 with the grille cover on, in regeneration, in temperatures that aren't as cold as yours.
  20. Question here.... US Warranty. 3/36mi Canadian Warranty. 3/60km 36k miles = 57924km 60k kilos = 37290.24mi So...the real question I have. You've got 36k miles on your vehicle, in Detroit, MI. It's out of basic warranty. You roll over to Windsor, and flip the display from MI to KM, and VOILA. You still have warranty. How's this work, exactly? Go by country of origin?
  21. What's the .1 difference between a Mariner and an Escape? is the grille different or something?
