I do not know if the front cover is the same or not. I do know that ford is working on repairing the front cover concern per my fse. They are here in texas at a dealer in dallas I believe doing some extensive testing. I do not think that they have a repair yet.
It comes with a front cover and oil pump, oil pan, pickup tube, cam and crank sensors. I still do not understand what they mean by robustness actions. I have not seen any information on what has been improved.
i must admit that this very problem happened at our dealership. The very firs 6.7 that came in here had to wait over 2 hours before we got him out. The ball was really dropped on that one.
I have already had the oppurtunity to rebuild one of these. I had the parts department already order 6 of them for stock because we replace a ton of ficms. He did not find it in the system either but they were still able to get some. I dont know much about the parts department so I do not know how they come up with them. Replacing it was very simple. It was not a big deal at all. Once replacing the drivers the truck fired right up.
Afe air filters are absolute crap. They are the worst of all the aftermarket air filters. I have seen all sorts of different brands and types but they take the cake. I always advise customers to remove them when I service their trucks. The 6.4 absolutely hates those filters. Everyone I get has a dpf code in it and then I have to hear how their buddy has one on his truck and it never caused a problem.
What is the icp pressure and the ipr percentage at during wide open throttle? It sounds as though you could have a high pressure oil leak, a weak pump, or possibly an icp connector concern.
55 psi reading koeo would not concern me to much as long as the voltage is correct. That is not much pressure compared to what that cystem can produce so that will not affect it. Since your sensor reads .50 volts that indicates that you do not have a biased sensor. I would be looking into a pump failure if your frp is 0 psi while cranking. I just got done doing a 2010 f 450 with 12000 miles that shattered an injection pump. It also pumped no pressure.
I have replaced many under valve cover harnesses on the 6.4 for misfires and injector circuit fault codes. You can wiggle on the connector at the injector and the miss will dissapear.
The wife and I just recently bought a new house. Well, not really new. I have been spending my time remodeling the home and doing tons of yard work. The yard is huge and the landscaping is way more than I have ever handled before. Turns out I actually enjoy doing all this stuff wasy more than I like being at work. It actually calms me down and I really enjoy the weekends just hanging around the house fixing things. But we also get away at times. We go on vacation somewhere out of the state at least once a year.
I had a maf on a 6.0 one time blowing egr insufficient flow codes. You could run and rerun the air management test and this thing would pass all day long. It had absolutely no driveability sypmtoms. Just a check engine light coming on. Finally just had to start inspecting everything and found a leaf stuck in the maf. It had a stock air filter on it.
