  1. I have seen 02 sensors cause misfires on complete banks. Also make sure that the correct injectors are installed on that bank also. I had another one at one time where someone had replaced 1 injector with the wrong injector and it caused the entire bank to miss as well due to it overfueling so much.
  2. I have replaced quite a few turbochargers for this concern. The ones that I replaced did not have excessive oil in the exhaust or intake side. But if you looked behind the turbine wheel you could see where there was oil burnt and caked behind the wheel. Replacement of the turbochargers has fixed everyone so far.
  3. Elongated thermostats will cause the coolant to blow out the bottle under heavy load. Monitor your ect while driving down the highway at a steady speed. If you ect fluctuates by more than 5 degrees your thermsotats need to be replaced.
  4. I have seen this problem several times with exhaust fumes in the cab. I only see it when running a/c on fresh air. I have tried everything and there seems that there is not much to do to repair this concern. And by the way it is not serious fumes that would knock you out or anything, just a faint smell of fumes.
  5. Good question. I had a 2004 6.0 one time that came in for a no start. Low icp was the cause. While air testing it with the valve covers off there was a very large leak on the rh side of the engine. Tear down revealed no problems. Could not find a blown oring on any of the injectors. Put the rail back on and retested. Leak was now gone and truck fired up after that. I could never find what happened to it but I think that it had a stuck injector on it. Vehicle never came back after that.
  6. Thanks, that is the tsb that I was looking for. The customer wants his money back of course because the other dealer is saying that the injector is making it run rough. I knew that the injector was for a cackle concern but did not know what would happen if a wrong injector was installed in that cylinder. Any ways the tech made a mistake and the customer will have his money returned to him.
  7. Quick question. What would happen if you put a regular injector into #8 cylinder of vice versa? Another tech here did that and now it is at another dealer and they claim the rough run problem is because of this. I do not believe this claim. I would like a thorough detail of the difference between the 2 injectors if anyone knows for sure.
  8. We had one like that one time. It ended up being a network pin in the bulkhead connector that was pushed in. At time the truck would lose all the gauges and if you shut it off it would not restart for a while. Very intermittent and was a real bitch to diag.
  9. while I was at the texas oklahoma game I finally got to look at this truck first hand. It looks real good and I like it alot. Still am not a fan of the rear fenders on the dually though. I got to see a cutaway of the engine and I liked it. I do not think that it is going to be real simple to work on though. It does look pretty crammed in the engine compartment. I also saw what looks like may be a factory gooseneck and 5th wheel hitch on a cutaway truck. I hope that this will be an option. Overall I like it. I just hope it is a better built engine than the last 2.
  10. I have also seen the drain valve leak between the orings out the back of the valve into the valley.
  11. I do not remember the specifics of the reading off the top of myhead but I do remember that there was nothing out of the ordinary going on with it.
  12. I have a 2008 6.4 F-350 ambulance here that I need some help on. This vehicle has a very extensive history at other dealers and now has been put off on me. While driving at times it will start to cut out and lose power. There are no codes. The concern happens anywhere from half to 3/4 throttle. It starts to lose power and at times will start knocking and then just clear up. Under wot you can feel it surging but it is still running ok until you let up on the throttle and then it will start to lose power. Fuel pressure is good and fuel is clean. I took a recording and the egr valve starts to do all sorts of strange things. It is slamming open and closed during wot and you can feel it in the truck. Also when it falls flat on its face you can watch the egr valve go wide open during the concern and then when it slams shut it regains power. The egr valve is new. I have inspected the harness and cannot find any chafes. The pcm has been updated to latest calibration. Just a list of items replaced: both turbos, turbo actuator, ebp and tube, all lh injectors, map sensor, both turbo up pipes, rh exhaust manifold, egr valve, all egt sensors, dpf filter and the doc. I think that is all. Any advice would be appreciated.
  13. I have had about 4 trucks with gas in them. I have cleaned the fuel tanks, replaced the filters and flushed the fuel lines on all of them with good success. I have not seen any of them come back. The only one that did have damage was a truck that the customer ran out of fuel. That one damage a few injectors.
  14. I have seen the water drain valves leak, the filter cap orings leak, as well as the heater/wif sensor leak. Also seen the fuel line that goes to rear of rh cylinder head chafe and leak. These are all areas to inspect. Even had one one time where the water seperator had holes in it from corrosion.
  15. Same stuff going on around here as well. We are starting to lose everything.
  16. I had one a long time ago that ended being a pcm. Really kicked my ass. The one I had all you had to do was tap on the pcm lightly with a hammer and the engine would shudder when you tapped it.
  17. I have tried different things to try and make a sludged 6.0 injector work. I have not been able to find anything that works for good. I asked an international engineer about this one time and he says that they also have tried many things and were unable to achieve the results they wanted. He also said that when the injectors sludge the spool valve also becomes scored. So cleaning the sludge out may not fix it because it is mechanically damaged from the scoring. I believe the best way to repair them is to just replace them.
  18. Great friday here. Had no problems with any thing and looking forward to a great weekend.
  19. I like it as well. Looks good so far. The only thing I hope is that those rear fenders on that f 450 are not standard . I prefer the larger ones.
  20. Shit you guys have it cheap. Full coverage for my family here (if I used it) would cost me $1300 dollars a month. I dropped it and went on my wifes insurance.
  21. I have replaced a few turbo chargers for that exact concern. Although without a cat converter that could be your issue as well. If you feel confident the cooler is not leaking I would look else where. Also since your ect eot spread is no more than 15 degrees more than likely your cooler is ok.
  22. Has the guy mentioned anything about having to add coolant? I have had bad egr coolers hold a vacuum. What is you ect eot spread? Does the egr pass the egr system test? I have also seen turbochargers blow white smoke on acceleration from a stop.
  23. I have to agree that the bg egr cleaner is a bunch of crap. We have it here but it has only been used a few times. It was a complete waste of money. I informed the bg guy that it was a bunch of crap and he did not really like my comment about it. He does not really come around me any more. The only way to really clean one is to manually clean it out.
  24. So thats what happened to my shipment.
  25. Have done alot of pumps and pickup tubes here. At least a few a month.
